And now I have to go and binge re-watch some Weird Al videos . . . like it's 1699.
If you don't get it it's a line fromAmish paradise.
WE CHURN BUTTER ONCE OR TWICE LIVIN IN AN AMISH PARADISE
Same here. Thank God for RUclips.
Have you ever watched Epic Rap Battles of History? It's a funny RUclips channel where they have historical figures humorously battle rap each other. There's one between Sir Isaac Newton vs. Bill Nye & Weird Al plays Newton & just spits sick rhymes- it's pretty awesome. You'd enjoy it if you like Weird Al.
@@carollangley2970 I know
"Foil" is a brilliant parody. I absolutely love this one. Even better was when I saw him live on his "Mandatory Fun" tour, instead of "aluminum" he pronounced it the way we do in Australia "aluminium" for the Aussie audiences. Gotta love Al.
Luubelaar I saw that tour but in Florida!
I haven’t seen him live but an artist that speaks in our tone is amazing and shows how much hard work he puts in and how great of a guy he is.
@@walrus3132 - if you ever get the chance to see Weird Al live, do it. It's totally worth the money.
> Gotta love Al
Was that a pun?
Al-You-Minium
It's fate
I loved Word Crimes way better than its original song. Great video WatchMojo!
TBH I don't really know the original song, but the parody looks like it's well worth a listen!
@@RiffRaffMama. you gotta atleast hear the original for comparison. it makes the parody funnier
It's definitely far less creepy and rapey.
I don’t guess why
What's the original?
The King of Parodies. Who doesn't love "Amish Paradise" or "White and Nerdy"? 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍
Amish paradise is my favorite
"Amish Paradise" or "White and Nerdy" were included in the first list.
Strangely enough - even in the top 20 - his second go at Queen is still missing... For me, Bohemian Polka is about the most brilliant one of the lot, as it keeps the lyrics and changes the music instead... „Mama - just killed a man“ sounds so much better on a Polka... ;-)
@@Glenno1982 He never asked where they were
The more you hate “Party in the USA”, the more you can appreciate Al’s parody.
It's my favorite parody of his.
amen . usa song = ick
I'm sorry, but in Foil, did I just see the guy who plays Fireman Boon in Brooklyn 99 and the dude who has like 76 identical cousins in Agents of Shield
It's at 7:09
I only like it since its nostalgic
100%
He who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life
Thank you Homer
confucius say
Exactly, Homer Simpson was absolutely right
Simpson homer
YOU FORGOT TO CREDIT HOMER!!
E-Bay!!!!!!-The line about (William) Shatner's old toupee' always cracks me up!!!!!
Is it wrong to love Al's versions more than the originals? 🔊😂🕪
valenius the kat i know how you feel
No.
😂😂😂😂
valenius the kat that's the case for a lot of his songs
I hate Blurred Lines, I love Word Crimes. What does that tell you?
"The long term contract I had to sign, says I'll be making these movies til the end of time with my Yoda"
Weird Al predicted The Last Jedi.
I love "Tacky" and "Word Crimes" clever songs!!!!!
ya but were is Tacky?
Foil
Don't think there will never be another one like him.
AuditoryAlien, that's a fact. Bart Baker's got nothing on him.
There might be another like Mel Brooks either until somebody remembers what the hell parody and spoof actually mean.
Would we want there to be?
The fact we have had others try; proves this to be true...
Sorry Cletus fans...but he's just a Dollar Store Al.
Personally my favorite is White & Nerdy.
Nico Yazawa same
Nico Yazawa my favorite is between like a surgeon, fat and eat it
Nico Yazawa, mine as well!
+kenny the playstation guy Nice. Love those too.
First video has both songs.
I actually met Weird Al Yankovic in real life at a con last year. I got my picture with him. He was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NICE! :D
Νίκος Λιναράς Thank you, no one’s ever called me that before and frankly, I love it.
I met him years ago when I was an awkward little teenage girl and couldn't find the courage to say much to him. Meanwhile my dad is like "my daughter is your biggest fan, she can sing almost any of your songs!". He was super nice though and took pictures with us and signed my poster :)
Agreed. He is super nice. Met him myself last year and saw him at two different concerts. One was all parodies, the other was all original songs. Both were absolutely fantastic!
THAT IS SO COOL!!!!! He performed at Niagara Fallsview Casino a few years ago, and I was so sad that I'm not old enough to go to a casino.
"Word Crimes" is my new Weird Al favorite. As an English major, I can totally relate to being annoyed with "text speak." I think they should play that song in every English Jr. High (or lower) class.
Im 42. Grew up on him. Been down since "eat it." I LOVE THE NEW STUFF TOO!!! Cant really say that about alot of old school artists huh?
Same here. I'm 41 (will be 42 at the end of June), and I first heard of him when Eat It was his biggest hit.
My first time i heard Al was at a friends place, who had a tape send by his cousin from the USA, he would send him Dr' Demento recordings all the time, but this one tape is from where i heard "my belogna" for the first time, this must have been in 1980 or 1981 i guess? lost track of him for a bit, and then, either, like a surgeon, or eat it got released, and i got reminded about Al, the rest is history :D
I'm 41, loved eat it. Get your self an egg and beat it. The Best nod to the original material.
I was a fan going back to his Dr Demento days.....
Seriously, what other artist has managed to produce such consistently high quality content for forty years? He doesn't have any bad albums or even bad songs. Sure, some of them aren't as good as others, but none of them are bad. Al has got to have the most staying power out of the whole music industry.
Weird Al is so dope. Untouchable.
I saw him a comic con
Weird Al is hilarious. I love his wacky sense of humor.
Best weird al line: “tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1699”
Almost 40 years and he still has it. I'm sorry they left "Handy" off the list but in truth there are so many worthy WAY masterpieces.
I screamed when I saw the notification for this!! I've been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you WatchMojo!!
I can't get enough of his mashup polkas.... omg I have loved having to wear extra thick pads listening to Al since before Dare to be Stupid...
I'm old, deal with it
Weird Al is a genius and legend.
And Dr. Demento helped “make it so”
Weird Al...The King of Parodies.
Alimony and I Think I'm A Clone Now are some of his best lyrical moments ("Just a test tube and a womb with a view.")
“Tacky” was one of the first weird al songs I could fully appreciate. In most cases, I hear the original song after I listen to the Weird Al version. However, when I clicked on “Tacky”, I recognized “Happy”.
Didn't realize I had missed several of Al's songs these past few years, have to catch up. Wish he'd put out a greatest hit DVD so we could really enjoy his works. They are more fun to watch.
Jerry Springer (One Week by the Barenaked Ladies) is one of his lesser known and underappreciated parodies.
Maximum Gawnage I FUCKING LOVE THAT ONE!!
THAT GOAT DOESN'T LOVE YOU!
Running With Scissors is my favorite album.
I love Jerry Springer! The song, that is.
I really think one of his best ones is either One More Minute, Ricky, or Squirrel Stomping Day!!!
I see Weird Al, I instantly click!
A national treasure! ❤
HE'S GUMP!!!
HE'S GUMP!!!
HE'S GUMP!!!
... what's with that hair?
HE'S GUMP!!!!
HE'S GUMP!!!!
HE'S GUMP!!!!
...that question's fair...
eBay only as an honerable mention?! Say whattt
Possibly because there isn't an official video for it. (As far as I know, anyway.)
Completely agree. I love that song.
I know, right? I'm pretty sure that EBay was the first Weird Al song that I ever heard and I'd probably still place it in my personal top 5 Weird Al songs.
For some reason my whole band will just start singing Want it That Way, and whenever that happens about 10 of us join in with eBay
@@awildfilingcabinet6239 At some stupid camp thing I send ebay while everyone else sang the real song.
Weird al is a genius thank you for making funny songs.
you can basically count all the parodies Al ever made, divide that number with ten and make that many TOP 10 videos. Let's face it, each and every Weird Al parody DESERVES to be on these lists
Does anyone remember Weird Al, working with Doctor Demento? He started on Doctor Demento's Radio show. Younger people probably don't remember that, but older people like me do. You know, before cell phones:)
This made me HAPPY!
steven alvarez Me too. So happy!
trapped in the drive thru is one of my favorite songs
"Jurassic Park" only an honorable mention?! BULLS*IT! It's Weird Al's coolest music video!
darthstarkiller1912 agreed
darthstarkiller1912 Better than nothing
Unfortunately, it is also listed as one of his worst songs.
The Mind of 18 Men how though? I love it I always thought it was one of his bests maybe second to the saga begins
Not even close, man. It's at the bottom of my list of his songs. It beat out my Bologna, which I never cared for, and Spam. BUT, that is my opinion.
When talking about popularity, with the general populace, I believe the masses just didn't find his music for it to be all that great. The video is fine, though. Amish Paradise is one of the most recognized, second only to White & Nerdy. And few ever remember Hardware Store, which is my personal favorite...favoritism at it's finest. Also, I believe that one is an original, so they wouldn't even list it on either of these.
It's so great you included trapped in the drive-thru. It's easily one of his best. There's so many subtle references to the original. It's fantastic. Can;t agree with Gump much tho.
I love you giving him the title "his weirdness"👍👏😂😂😂
I miss his mustache...😂😂😂
I miss the mustache and glasses.
😂😂
@@gedias1 and His Afro hairstyle.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Weird Al needs to be inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame
"The long term contract I had to sign said I'll be making these movies 'til the end of time."
Weird Al called it over 30 years in advance, people!
36 years old and this dude still makes me laugh out loud
His parody of "King of pain" is an underrated master piece.
Yoda was the first song I heard by Weird Al. I was hooked and have enjoyed his music ever since.
We need a new Weird Al album, it’s been 6 years and al hasn’t released any more parodies, i need my Havana parody!
Weird Al is an international treasure
I heard a girl say no to a date because the guy wasn't a Weird Al fan.
Good thing she did 👍😆
My kind of girl.
Discerning. Dodged a bullet.
He was close. So very close...
Lmao
The Saga Begins is by far his best parody. The recreating of the song “The Day the Music Died” by Don McLean. The lyrics are on point and explain The Phantom Menace to a “T.” Completely brilliant, “Yoda” would also be in my top 5. The other three would be tough but “Trapped in a Drive Through,” is super brilliant and relatable. My others would probably be some of the Dr Demento stuff though!
I think “A Complicated Song” deserved an honorable mention
Still missed one of my favorite parodies. Inactive, the parody of Imagine Dragon's Radioactive (which is still my favorite ID song.)
Never heard of that one, checking it out now.
I remember that one. "I'm using my inhaler now."
Weird Al is the best and a parody genius 😬
Amazing that "Weird Al" will turn 60 this year. And he's still hasn't aged a bit. I'm 53 and yet I've got gray hair!
Just saw Al on his Ridiculously self-indulgent ill-advised vanity tour and it was the greatest performance from Al that I've seen!
YES!!!! Love Weird Al!!!
"The long term contract
I had to sign
Says I'll be making these movies
'Til the end of time"
Serious genius. Wow. Weird al' never fails.
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!!!!!!
YODA IS MY FAVOURITE!!! I did not expect it to be number 1!!!
You ain't made it, until Weird Al got to you!
A Weird Al parody is like a badge of honour for a musician.
Party in the CIA is my fave of his so far, also love the Handy song and all these in this video. 😜
I absolutely love party in the CIA
I will always enjoy his funny parodies!
“Don’t download this song” something about that song that makes it my top favorite. Love Weird AL!
Who downvotes a Weird Al video?
Alverant some soulless asshole
People who are tired life
Tacky people
someone with no sense of humour
Pathetic edgelords who wanna dislike just to stick out. Or, maybe, in this case, people who really hate WatchMojo.
"How many bricks were used to build the Great Wall of China?" Loved that spoof. Gump and Yoda were great as well though they haven't mentioned "I'm a clone now" yet.
Another one 😂😂 yess!
... Rides The Bus!
😂😂
I think Word Crimes should have been put at number 1. It's just too good! I practically know the song by heart, but that's only because my mom is an English major.
Is it bad that I mouthed every word to each of the songs played? No? Ok then
It's bad because you weren't belting them out at the top of your lungs.
This was long overdue, live long and prosper al, you musical genius
May the the Fourth be width you always!
I just got back from one of his concerts!
I raised my kids on Weird Al
Sabin Acle You are a good parent and I bet your kids are happy and have a good sense of humor 😊.
Well done!
Adopt me.
you raised them well ^_^
That’s what my parents have done
And I’m glad
I love Word Crimes. It is so hilarious, even compared to the original.
I have to say, this is the first top 10 list from you guys that I actually agree with, probably because I haven’t seen the first one based on his songs.
I totally agree with your picks ! Weird Al is Fantastic 💗 Thanks 👍😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I saw him in concert with my brother and his girlfriend and got a "Tacky" Shirt. It was really funny seeing and hearing him live.
6:38
you are now aware that weird al was ~55 in this video.
HOW DOES HE STOP AGING?
that's what happens when you stay unproblematic and wholesome
Great collection of parodies.
You just have to love Al!!!
if ya view the video of `bedrock anthem' at the very start, then you would notice that the background of `under the bridge', there is also another song that is represented, `no rain' from blind melon where it has the `bee girl' dancing and the guitar player pokes her in the eyes.
what about "Grapefruit Diet"?
I've always thought it interesting that his career started with "My Bologna"...that same year, I heard at least three other parodies of that song, but all with the same title..."Ayatollah"...a scathing commentary of what Americans thought of you-know-who at the time. Whereas whomever wrote and sang those have no doubt fallen into obscurity, Al chose to tap into his inner weirdness and...well, he's still here.
Trapped in the Drive Thru should've been ranked higher imo
Weird Al is the only person on the planet- no the only one in the UNIVERSE, who can rock an aluminum foil hat, own it and not look weird
Has had a longer career than most people he parodied 🤣🤣🤘🤘
Every time I mention I need some aluminum foil.... my daughter always sings “fooooil”. Lmao
Bob!!!! Bob! Bob! No-one ever mentions Bob! Easily one of his most brilliant lyrics ever! He does NOT miss an opportunity with that song - perfect parody of Dylan - both the song and the video. Every line in the song is a palindrome ... As is the TITLE! Which also refers to the original ... Plus! Every damned palindrome in the song - RHYMES!!! How do you write a whole bunch of palindromes, in a song titled as a palindrome ... and then make them all rhyme and fit the original song exactly??!!! How does anyone even think of doing that?
I really liked Party in the CIA and Word Crimes. I love listening to him criticize people for improper grammar. From what all I have read and heard about Weird Al, he is more than just a funny, talented song writer. He is also a genuinely good guy.
Weird al thank you for making songs that America laugh and cry thank you weird al.
I shall never get tired of Weird Al!
U gotta love these parodies 😂😂😂 in today's society, we really gotta learn to laugh more! Thanks Al🤔
To be totally honest, 99.99% of Weird Al songs and videos belong on top 10 lists. Finally, watchmojo found a subject they couldn't mess up on.
I think I'm a clone now is a underrated song by al.
Yes Yoda number 1 just where it deserves to be. I used to play this constantly I wore out two cassette tapes.
I'm about to re live my childhood listening to weird al
We need to protect Weird Al at all cost
Ticked that “Ode to a Superhero” is not included on the list.
Lol, love them all. Good call on the list. I lost on jeopardy, didn’t even know there was an original until much time after the song was released
Is it wrong I learned the lyrics to word crimes because our school showed us the video?
Not really. I think every English class should show _Word Crimes._
It's wrong, but so right
They played that song for my MBA Orientation! :)
Sounds like a pretty solid was to teach grammar to kids. They should try it in more schools.
I've seen Weird Al in concert with my parents and my older brothers. Many of the songs on this list I've listened to.
Ironic that he's a vegetarian now, when it was his song about bologna that gave him his debut.
It's okay that he's a vegetarian because he's not preachy about it.
@@robertrutkowski4946 It is ok that he's a vegetarian. It's still ironic and quite amusing.
Bologna isn't real meat... Or real food. It's a crime against the body and taste.
I really loved Yoda most of all! My other favorite is Jurassic Park. I especially loved the scene where Barney the purple dinosaur gets stomped on by a T-rex!
