- This is the first time I've seen a glass-enclosed tomb in person.
I visited Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Buffalo, NY to see the gravesite of President Millard Fillmore. While there, I discovered the memorial monument to Nelson Blocher which appears to be even more visited than the former president's.

What a sad but spot on saying. So true!
I couldn’t agree with you more.
If she left her Bible then I would think the folks killed her off.
Possibly that’s why she is depicted as an Angel
Omgosh I hope not! That would be terrible. But I have to admit I thought of that too. Hopefully them being wealthy they paid her off.
I believe that’s exactly what they did and then had to suffer the fury of hell on earth by watching their only child slowly die by their actions! I believe it is quite fitting for them!
The whole story is bunk. 😂.
Leaving bible says to me she took money and turned away from the Lord. ❤?
Sometimes a broken 💔 heart can kill 😢😢😢
💔
Broken Heart Syndrome has been recognized by the medical community and powers that be to be a truthful malady.
😢
TELL that to Debbie Reynolds...she died of a broken 💔 heart ❤️
True 😢😢
I also agree with your theory Steve. His parents had plenty of money to send her away. She probably was not as in love with him as she was the money. So sad for that young man. Yes, I believe people can die of broken hearts.😢💔
They may have told her to take the money and leave and never contract him again or threatened her life is she didn’t take the money. I mean who really knows just a thought. 🤷🏼♀️
Ooo yes they sure can I know of a couple of guys that never got over there first!
That's a beautiful mausoleum and cemetery! I was there years ago, and I remember viewing that memorial through each window, marveling at the realistic faces and detailed clothing. 💐
Glad that you got to see it in person too!
It’s sad that parents can’t accept who you fall in love with while they lost their son that built a beautiful memorial to him and themselves, but they were to blame for his death. Have a good day Steve Karen.
Thanks, Karen and you too!
My suspicious mind says that, because she left HER Bible, she probably was killed by the parents. If she just left, she would not have left her Bible behind.
Yes I think something up! Leaving Bible behind doesn't mesh up...
Probably true 😢
I suspect you’re right. I thought the same thing as soon as I as I heard the story.
I agree.
You stand correct, bibles were especially popular in the 1700s and 1800s, and families passed them down from one generation to the next.. the Bible was very important, in those years, that would be your marriage certificate, your birth certificate, death certificate.. it's all true you can look it up.. 1902 when they started birth certificates. the first standardized marriage certificates were issued in the late 1800s. The U.S. Bureau of the Census developed the first standard certificates for the registration of vital events-births and deaths-in 1900.. before all of this it was the family Bible.. When the American Falls was temporarily diverted in 1969, two bodies were found,, just maybe one was her.. it's only a hop skip and jump from Buffalo to the falls.
Thanks for sharing Steve. Really sad story. Unfortunately, one that happens way too often. I suppose that she left her Bible as a sign for him that she will see him again in Heaven and they will live forever happily together.
It is as beautiful as you can imagine. The story I was told when I was young, many many years ago, was pretty much like yours, however the thought was here, that while she disappeared and left her bible behind that actually she died, no-one was sure how and if it was murder, but they had underestimated how much they loved each other, and from sheer sadness he simply wasted away. They built the crystal tomb, as we called it, out of love ,sorrow, and guilt. Many stories and famous people here. Always peaceful, I love it here.
Thank you so much Mary for sharing this! 💔
I agree with your theory Steve, the parents probably offered more money then she could expect to make in a lifetime. Along with a one-way ticket to a destination far away.
That is such a sad story. The tomb is incredible, though - just so creative and beautiful and unique. Thank you for sharing Steve. Blessings - Judith 🎤🎭
Glad you enjoyed it Judith!
That reminds me a bit of a movie I watched last night, The Valley of Decision with Greer Garson as the maid and Gregory Peck as the rich man’s son. Thank you for sharing this story.
Sadly, it is a pretty common tale. 💔😢
Sounds like an interesting movie; I'll have to look it up. Thanks!
Gives me the chills thinking he never got over his true love you can die from a broken heart you just give up living!
Wuthering Heights??
The mausoleum is beautiful!, and the family looks so life like. Maybe the young man would have lived if he and the maid could have been together. So sad for them. My favorite cemeteries are the ones with statues, and weeping angels. And also mausoleums. Thanks for sharing this video, have a blessed week.
Beautiful monument, even though there is a sad story behind it. ❤
Beautiful tomb. ❤️💔❤️
This is why I watch your videos, Steve. You tell interesting stories.
Thank you Lava!
Besides the beauty of sculpture this cost a few bucks. Nice find.
So sad to be heartbroken. Shouldn’t happen to anyone. RIP 🪦🥀Thanks for the story Steve lol 😞💔
so beautiful likeness Amen too the sculpture artist RIP
Happy Saturday Steve!! That is incredible!! I've never seen anything so unique and beautiful. Steve, you are the best. Honest, accurate and always finding the most intriguing and informative graves😊 Keep 'em coming.
🕊️❤️🙏
Happy Saturday Leesa and thank you!
@@TheGraveyardChannel , you're very welcome 🥰
What a sad story but a neat final resting place.
What a beautiful monument and such a tragic story.
Thanks for sharing and i never knew the story or was at the cemetary. Great video.😢
NYC Irish immigrant 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Sally!
That has to be the most magnificent memorial tomb I've ever seen. Wow. Just wow. The story you told, that you were made aware of, could be or could not be the truth (as you stated) and could be another story that is of another nature. But whatever the reason he passed, his parents surpassed showing the love they had for him having this built for his final resting place. It's a masterpiece in a cemetery. You get around!
Such a sad story. The tomb is beautiful. Thank you, Steve!❤
Beautiful Mausoleum and monument. I wonder who carved this work of art
I’m surprised that it didn’t say who carved it. Or if it did, I must’ve missed it.
I’ve visited Forest Lawn and the Blocher Memorial many times over the years. Used to live very nearby and made it a point to walk or ride a bike through many times. This particular memorial is absolutely beautiful, and tells a sad story. I’m so pleased that you made this video and showed off the hidden jewel in this cemetery. Thank you. ❤
Thanks for sharing Spock!
Steve... very interesting love story. You certainly do find interesting stories. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Norma!
Hello from Buffalo. Thank you for covering the Blocher monument. My great-grandmother Elizabeth is buried at the other side of Forest Lawn.
Thank! She must be closer to the presidents gravesite.
Thank you for sharing very sweet story where are the parents resting are they with the son 😔
Yes, they are there too.
As always thank you Steve for posting yet another excellent video from your travels across America and for keeping memories alive of those who have passed on too.
Thank you, Jack!
Sad story but what a beautiful tribute to him! I cant imagine how much that cost them!
You dont see monuments like this today but back in the 1800s it seems there
were alot of wealthy people that would buy monuments like this! Todays money, that
would cost a mill or more easily! Looking on the internet it states the father did sculpting
as a hobby so maybe he did this himself? Or just designed it? It also states that the sculpture
of the son laying on that bed, it turns so u can get to the burial vaults underneath! Great story! Thank u!
So beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this!
What an extraordinary monument ... so sad, yet so beautiful. I understand grief/loss can cause people to become ill and even die. We see it frequently in elderly couples. When one spouse passes, the other soon follows. We'll never know what was said/done to the maid that made her leave, but clearly poor Nelson died of a broken heart.
What an incredible story and what a wonderful memorial to their son how grand thanks for showing this video ❤️😊
Such a sad story - I had not heard about it before. Great job Steve and thanks for sharing!
That is truly a very beautiful monument!!! Would love to see it in person!
The statues are intricately designed with such detail. The craftsmanship was just superb! Reminds me of The Chicago World Fair craftsmanship during the Tartarian Era! Sad story
I’m thrilled to see that you are doing this documentary. This cemetery is so Beautiful and it’s enormous. I have love the Blocher tomb the most. Thank You for showing this Beautiful Cemetery 🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi Steve 🙋🏽. This storyline is beautiful and I really like the tomb.❤
Thank you for telling his story
That's so sad . Love is love no matter what. Thanks for sharing this with us 😊
Thanks for sharing this Steve!
Sounds like the parents paid her to leave or possibly had her whacked. But then when their son suffered and died. They felt great remorse 😢 🙏
I still so love your video downcast top your walking feet...nice touch! Fascinating story I never heard. Thanks so much! It's always possible that If the parents were rich, they were then powerful, and might have had her 'deleted' and eventually felt the pain of what they caused...sad either way!
Thanks for watching to the end William. Most viewers never get that far lol. 😀👍
Wow! Exquisite mausoleum! Such craftsmanship!
Good morning Mr Steve. Thank you for another amazing video. Continued success . You look amazing 👍🏻🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you, Nadia!
Beautiful tomb with a sad story thank you for sharing
I wish there was photo of him. Rip Amen. 🙏
There is a photo on his Find a Grave memorial page. I was going to share it but it’s so small that it just looked blurry on the video so I figured people who are interested could just check it out on Find a Grave.
Wonderful sad story of love and life. Beautiful Tomb, the statues are so life like. Always like hearing your stories, and videos. You give a calming narrative.
Thanks so much Mark!
Really cool grave. I love the story❤. Great video.
Such a sad story. A beautiful memorial. Looks like a beautiful cemetery.
Amazing story. I love (and am jealous of) the way you get around! It's great to get to "go" with you!
Thanks for coming along Sharon!
It 🌽🌽
A very morbid story, but the monument is an excellent work of art that most likely couldn't be replicated.
Thank you I’ve never heard such a story. It’s sad and interesting at the same time. Thank you.
Thank you for telling and taking us to see this.
Thanks for coming along Mary!
What a beautiful memorial monument but such a sad story behind it. Interesting story. 😊
Hi Again Old Friend; all the best you and yours!!!
Such a beautiful resting place and a sad story😢💔 thank you Steve for sharing their memories.
As soon as I watched your video, I just knew that they killed her or had her killed. If she had gone of her own will, she would never have left her bible; back then, a bible was a person's heart; she would not have left it. That glass tomb was built so elaborately to ease their guilt. Still, I hope wherever they put her, she is once more reunited with her true love, and his parents can never stop two hearts that genuinely love each other from being together, not even in death. It would be interesting to know where the parents are buried.
Sad story. What is kind of surprising is that the memorial is kept so clean. You can see through the windows and there is no dirt or fallen leaves around it. Thank you, Steve for telling us their story. Take care.
I agree, Maria. The memorial probably has a fan club that comes and cleans it. Just my guess because I thought the same thing about how clean it was.
Hello Steve from England. This is the first time I've come across your videos, I enjoyed watching this video & have subscribed to your channel. Blessing from England 🏴
Thank you. Welcome Susan! 😊👍
Hi Steve...a very beautiful but sad story..the glass tomb is very beautiful and such a creative idea to have constructed..I am sure he died of a broken heart....thanks for vlogging your always interesting and informative stories..take care..... Deborah 🇨🇦😉
Hello Steve! 😊
Beautiful memorial to Nelson Blocher by his parents, but a sad 😢 story. Have you ever been to Lakeview Cemetery in Jamestown, New York, where comedian Lucille Ball is buried? It’s a nice cemetery. My sister Charlene Adams is buried there but she has no gravestone, unless someone in the family up there had one placed. I don’t know, because I haven’t been up there since 1996/7. My 5 week old baby daughter Michele Reneé Fiske is buried there too, in the childrens’ section. Last time I was there, my baby’s gravestone could not be found. Come to find out, the gardener had buried it with the lawnmower. Don’t know how he did it, but he did. Luckily, they uncovered it that day while I was there.
Hi Diane, yes, I did visit that cemetery about a year and a half ago. The video from my visit to Lucille Ball’s gravesite is on this channel. So sorry for the loss of your sister and your daughter. 💙
@@TheGraveyardChannel … Cool! And thank you for the condolences!
Thanks ❤Steve Richards and frankly dog
That is a beautiful work of art.

Hi Steve!!! You finally made it to the East Coast!!! Welcome!!! Hope you enjoyed your trip!!!❤❤❤.
It was an awesome trip Lana! This was filmed in 2022, but it’s taking me this long to finally add and share it. I still have many more from this trip to share in the future.

Glad you enjoyed it Philo!
So sad to hear about this sad story that is true !Hi Steve and hope you are having a great night weekend !
Thank you
Love your channel keep it up
Thanks, will do! 😊👍
Hi Steve,
I have personally experienced something similar but cultural when I was younger and sadly It still exists today. It can become very vicious and even resort to forgery and defamation. In the end, she was shipped off and married off in another country.
Her last message to me was, "they are still trying to brainwash me." Never saw her again. I'm sure I know how this guy felt.
Great vlog 👍
I have to agree this kind of manipulation is still being done to this day if a parent(s) don’t like you for whatever reasons they will find a way to break you up. The man I nearly married very religious and his mother was controlling, possessive, overbearing and manipulative and was really big on the Honor Thy Mother and Father Commandment . He was very indoctrinated in his religion and he was a 30 year old grown man who had to be home by 9:00 pm he came to my house one time walked in and wasn’t in the door 5 minutes before is mother called and told him he had to be home. There is a reason why we are no longer together. I also think he was afraid of his parents and the elders in his congregation. This might have been the reason with man as well who knows.
Yikes, so sorry to hear that Daniel. ☹️
How sad
this was a sad story but interesting. I've never heard this story B4. looking forward to your next video. God Bless and take care Steve.
Thanks for letting me know Shannon. I almost didn’t share this video because I assumed everyone had already seen it and heard about it. I guess I need to stop assuming. 😊
@@TheGraveyardChannelyvw!!! my Friend.
The family must have been wealthy to have a memorial like that. It’s beautiful but such a sad story. 😔God only knows what his parents did or said to the maid. 😔🙏🏻💐
Great one Steve. That sounds like a story that could be made into a movie.
Not a movie I would watch sorry
How interesting 😢
Hi , new subscriber here, Im glad I found your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bean. I’m glad you found my channel too! 😊👍
Wow that's sad 😢😢😢❤❤❤😮😮😮 Steve hope Y'all are well p
Thanks Wanda. All is good. Hope you are too.
Steve you have came across the border to niagara on the lake and thorold lots of historic grave sites here Like Patrick Donnelly from the black donnelly clan Canada's first crime family or graves of 1812 war soldiers from canada and the usa,
Thanks for mentioning them Christopher. my road trip took six weeks, and I feel like I barely scratched the surface of interesting cemeteries and gravesites. So many graves, so little time to visit them all. 🙃
Great story, Love seeing monuments you don't see everyday.
Thanks cemetery views!
Thank you Steve great but so sad
💔
That's a sad story, thank you for telling it.
Beautiful sad story ❤😊
You do a fine job!
Thank you, Mrgop!
Wow never saw this before. Its amazing...👍💚👍
Glad you liked it Abigail. 👍
What an amazing memorial 😊
My gosh Steve did you drive all the way from Palm Springs? Your amazing. What a beautiful memorial!
Yes, in 2022. I finally had time to edit and share this today. Better late than never! 😀👍
Hope they didn't have anyone hurt her! So sad...😢❤
Very sad. But really such a beautiful tomb!
What a beautiful memorial!
I didnt know the story. I took the cemetery tour in buffalo years ago. I believe Aretha Franklin mother is buried there .
I didn’t know that. Thank you for sharing this with us Doreena!
You’ve got a good u-tube channel. I find it very entertaining..
This monument was expensive, big time. What a remarkable work of art, it speaks of the love the parents had for son. It's too! bad they were so blind, the hear wants what the heart needs. ❤
I was there about 24 years ago. That ENTIRE cemetery is crazy beautiful. People get married there. There was a caretaker that used to work there-and he told me the glass is there to keep people from defacing the grave. He told me only that the parents were extremely distraught over the death of their son. N0 lost love-he got sick-TB I think he said it was.
Thanks for sharing that with us April 👍
I see the cemetery take care of it very well.
