In Wait for It by Mariana Zapata, Dallas combs Diana's hair after they have spent the night combing her nephews hair due to them getting lice. It is really sweet even though it sounds bad.
Those are some good micro-tropes! I also love the pushing the "stuff" back in. 🤭 Almost every book I've read by Jenika Snow has that. Some of her recent books that have become all time faves, for me, are: Run, Little Rabbit and Little Darling (both have primal as well). 💗
I loved Viggo Bergman all through the Chloe Liese's "Bergman Brothers" series because he was always reading romance (Lisa Kleypas if I remember correctly) and handing out advice to his brothers. On keeping a token, I just love in J.D. Robb's "In Death" series that when Roarke first meets Eve Dallas a gray button falls off her suit and he keeps it in his pocket afterwards. He even shows her that he has it at one point to show her how crazy he is about her. But he tells her, she isn't getting it back! I swoon every time the gray button comes up again in the series. Recently I read a couple of books in a row where the hero slides his nose along the heroine's face (which sounds weird, but when done right is so sexy) while kissing her. I didn't even know that was a thing that got to me...but Lord it did. And...gray sweatpants, say no more!! Once a quarter in my reading journal I do a page highlighting a certain color and use pictures with that color. Working on my journal for 2025, the color is "gray" for January and there might be a picture of said sweatpants.
Carries the kid one I just finished What About Now? By Kaylee Ryan. The main trope is sister's friend. But I love all her books, but that's the one I thought of from the mini tropes in your video!
In Deviant King by Rina Kent , Aiden has a Secret tattoo for Elsa . And in Blood of my Monster also by her, Kirill and Sasha both get tattoos for each other ❤❤ oooh and Kirill, wears glasses too 😊😊
I love so many of these micro tropes! Some of my faves - Secret tattoo After the Storm by Laura Pavlov, Glasses Blood of my Monster trilogy by Rina Kent. I love all these but my fave has to be secret/mutual pining when there's a tattoo or a trinket that one or both characters have held on to. 💜
Love these micro tropes! Fave is probably the push it back in one... which would explain a lot about my obsession with omegaverse. 😄 I am so impressed you can remember so many of these, I know I've read a lot of these but picking them out of all I have read would be hard. So the only rec I would have would be one I recently read and is still fresh - In the Sabre Security series book #2 there is hair braiding and period care.
Ooh, I love it when heroes read romances. Didn’t Henry from Grim and Bear it go to a book club? And I have a weird feeling one of Rina Kent’s characters did too. But maybe I’m completely wrong. Like you, I feel I have read that trope a few times but can’t think of many examples off the top of my head. I also read Hawke by Jescie Hall recently and he definitely wears grey sweatpants. Some would argue, way too much! 😂
What are your favorite Micro-tropes? Or do you have any recs for mine?
For the MMC in a romance book club: “Grim and Bear It” by Juliette Cross ❤
Hell yes! So good!

Yeah, it goes along with Breeding quite well and she does that a LOT. 😅
Yeah, fair! lol 😅
I took a peak at the book rec list, and I'm so excited to hear the micro tropes 🩷

I am gonna add another microtrope , public claiming. At first I thoughr it was weird but then I kinda liked it 😂. . S. Massery's books have that .
micro-trope where a pet likes a hero before heroine is also in Lights out
Loved “poison” and “bait” by Jade west. Amazing reads
They shook me back when I first read them. Just wild!

It's so hard to remember them. I'm definitely gonna track them better this year. 🤣 cause I love sharing them
