Another great fun video! However, I really think we needed to see the puppy! Please! May fav is the long sleeved Tolsta knit in the Cascade 220 orchid! What a gem! I’m still amazed at your productivity! While you still work full time? Thank you so much Rebecca! We haven’t had warm weather over here in the San Juan islands of Washington either! So I get the tank frustration! I’m still wearing wool a good portion of each morning. Ok hugs, ClaudiaSJI

I totally second the puppy inclusion! I would have sworn there would be just a pic or clip of puppy cuteness at the end. We haven’t had warm weather to speak of up until now. Today is 19C. The rest of the week it is going to be low to mid 30s?! I’m going to melt. So will the big black mush in my avatar

    Hi Rebecca,
You have inspired me to make a long sleeve tolsta with some fluff! Yours looks so cozy!
Last year I did make a long sleeve tolsta out of holst coast (held double) for my son, he wears it all the time, his only request is that i make the sleeves the same length, lol.
Thank you for the tolsta updates, your generosity as a designer is very much appreciated.

I just finished a plain dark brown Tolsta. It was the first time I ever knitted a tee in fingering weight. It took a little longer than usual to knit but I enjoyed it. I am now going to knit a striped Tolsta in charcoal and light gray. The Tolsta is perfect for where I live -- tropical weather year-round.

I agree with you about the black tank with white crochet trim, it would look great with a different solid color. And while the little flowers are cute, I agree with you all but the one on back need to go. I could see that beautiful green, deep neck tank as a dress😁.
I hope you will share the puppy soon.

Thank you for another podcast, Rebecca. I’ve made two tolsta’s and both long sleeves! Now that you have an actual patter for it and added bust darts on your patterns, I’ll have to update my patterns. I use your tolstas as a canvass. It’s a very versatile pattern. And quick and fun. Love the tanks! I plan on making some of those too. So glad you have a puppy. They are like babies though. We have a dog and had him at 6 months old and he’s three now. It’s been fun to watch him go from puppy to teenager. Love love love your patterns. Patricia from California.

While silk is a strong fiber, it doesn't handle abrasion as well as a synthetic fiber like nylon. Plus, when it gets wet it loses a lot of its strength (and that seems like a prime place for sweat to impact the fiber). I have learned to avoid it in socks and anything else that gets a fair amount of friction and sweat while being worn. You could also sew dress shields and line the underarm area to keep it from getting wet. Bonus, it will help plant fiber tops last another wear or two before needing to be laundered.

Hi so cool you have started a family, puppies are adorable but such a consumer of time.
Love seeing all your Tolsta tops. very tempting to join the KAL. I have an idea to counter your trend to ... shortness ... have you considered measuring each from the armhole down to note what your ideal length should be, taking into account how much post blocking growth you might get. I have just started doing it.

Rebecca, I love all your Tolstas! I really wanted to make the tee this spring, but got scared off by the short rows (have never done them). But, I bought the tank pattern and cast on the dk vest version nearly immediately after it was released. I would have finished it in less than a week, but I ran out of yarn. 😩 It’s such a simple and easy knit, I can’t wait to knit all the Tolstas, even the tee, especially a long sleeved one. I’m always amazed at how prolific a knitter you are and am so impressed with your designing. I’m also hoping to tackle the Rhue one day as my first attempt at stranded colorwork. Thank you for inspiring me!

I promise short rows aren't scary at all! Also it's like... 10 rows that are a bit more challenging and they're right at the start so once thye're done, the rest is easy peasy!

I think that black one would have looked really pretty with a picot edge or a full crochet stitch, looks like you did like a slip stitch or at the most a single crochet. I have purchased most of your patty but have notdone any yet. I don’t care for how most of them appear to bunch at the shoulders/under arms on you and that just may be Due to your shoulder depth and could look different on someone else. when I knit one of your patterns, I will remember to try it on before I get too far past the split for the sleeves, to ensure that the bunching does not occur on me as well. My shoulders are a bit sloped.

I know your don’t have super warm weather where you live but I would 100% wear these tolsta tanks under cardigans, jackets, and blazers. I do that a lot for work. And anything that ends up a bit wonky goes into my pj pile! As for your black with white edging tank I didn’t see night gown at all until you said something. For me it was giving late ‘90s early ‘00’s sporty vibes. But an electric blue or purple or green could be super cool. And maybe instead of doing a half single crochet? (British crochet terms vs American gets confusing and I’m not great at crotchet either) maybe do a single. Or a double? My thought is to do a stitch that doubled from what you did. So it looks less like a sergered edge and more like a structural or intentional detail. I like the way it looks now. But if it’s something you don’t care for or is a barrier in wearing it def experiment and see what will work best for you. Can’t wait to start my own tolsta tanks! When I first discovered my love for garment knitting I bought a lot of fingering weight yarn for the price and yardage thinking k was getting a steal….and didn’t realize I would hate knitting it in the proper gauge. So I haven’t done anything with them because there isn’t enough for a sweater if I hold them double but there absolutely is if I’m making a tank! So excited!!! Also congrats on the new baby! And hope you guys get some sleep soon! 💜💜
