Here I go again with a prayer request from my favorite prayer warriors. My sister, Kathy has blood cancer, and her treatments are no longer working. Please pray for her to be released from this fear, or for God to perform a miracle and to give her an extension of life. MamaCard thanks you for always being present with prayers.
Now someone can say, these JDM’s guys sure make a reliable vehicle. That’s ok I’ll say for ya’ll.. once again another great truck story! Thanks again TR… love it!!
Haven't seen those since I was little driving around here. It didn't seem like it was going to be too hard to make her a runner again guys. Very awesome work of the Lord there guys.
There was one of these a 1963 in Sherman,TX i saw . My Dad drove a Datsun to the shipyard for years, i learned how to drive in one of them, wish i had it. I know yall will do it right great folks!!
Great to see family working with one another on progress and keeping another vehicle from the crusher ,❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless Y'all and your critters
Turnin Rust was the very first channel I ever subscribed to. Loved the strong faith foundation your videos had from the beginning. I finally plucked up the courage to start my own channel...
Back in the early '70s my brother had a Datsun, it was an orange four-door little car. We lived about 50 miles from the beach and he was a surfer. There were lots of surfer guys in our neighborhood and I remember many days with six people in this car driving that distance to the beach. We didn't always have six people but that car drove for years and years and we drove back and forth to the beach more times than I can remember. I remember when he saw that he hated to see it go but he needed something bigger and it still drove just as good as the day he got it. Good old time :-)
My Friend in High school, Tucson, 1977, had the same truck, red and all. We worked on it some and he kept it emmaculate. We did a lot of miles in it and lots of stories! I was so Happy to see you get this truck and get it running! The sound alone brough back many happy times. Oh, and the fender mirrors are the stock ones.
I've been a Datsun fan since the early 90s. I've had 3 zs, 3 510, a roadster, 620, 720, 200sx. I love the fact that they are popular again. Suck, squeeze, bang, and she'll blow! Get it cleaned up, repair the rust, put it on a more modern frame, drop it. Cool little shop truck. Datsun/Nissan knew exactly what they were doing.
Did you guys ever finish your 57 or 60 Mercury motor home? Just checking it was a cool looking motor home.. You guys were gonna put a diesel motor in it. Did you ever finish it?.. Great videos.I like how you guys fix up old cars.Great job..👍🙏
Thought this would be the best way to connect with the owner of this channel as there is a person unloading your old videos on there own page and getting subscribers with it. You guys do an amazing job and it's so nice to see god's work at it's finest bless you all and keep up the amazing work.
I had that same engine in a car. Small but mighty. That thing topped at 105 mph and easy to work on. That "old" looking box was the same style used up into the 70s.
This is a neat old rare truck… My first brand new truck was a 1985 Nissan/Datsun and I thought it was a very good truck and loved it. I did have to get rid of it cuz I was saving up for a house. AnyWho, I like that you guys, get off the beaten path with what you fix up Chevys and Fords are great but stuff like this is the kind of thing you don’t see anymore keep up the good work!
Loved your video boys and another great production by Christen When fueling any Datsun pre 1990, never use any Ethanol petrol, as that destroys the fuel pump and carbi parts, found this out on my wifes 1975 Datsun 180B. Crank handles welcome to my world, Massey Ferguson 1958 petrol 35 and my 30hp 3 cylinder diesel chinese tractors. Keep up the good work and God bless
Excellent video Turnin Rust :) Wyatt :) , Lance :) , Christina :) I remember those trucks my one uncle drove them for years and fun small trucks work on !
Brings back memories of my first car a 1970 Datsun 510. I think the Datsun B210 had that little 1200 in it also. Good to see the old truck running and saved from the shredder.
I don't recall ever seeing your Mamma! Would like to see and hear more from her. I bet she has some juicy stories to tell about y'all 😜 great truck! I haven't seen one of those in years!
This was awesome can't believe that carb just worked like that, the car just wanted to live and thanks to you it is going to, keep up the good work love from England x
Here some pointer to help you all in the future, when dealing with older ignition system. A: Those canister type ignition coils dont like being mounted on there side and will leak out all there oil, damaging coil in the end. B: Those type coil are marked for use with a resistor for the points ones or for use with electronic ignition where the resistor is not used. For the resitor type, a ballast resistor must be used to drop the voltage to prevent overheating the coil or putting undue arc across the points. When converting to electronic ignition, the ballast resistor gets removed from the loop to give full voltage to the coil. C: Its not good on the coil, for it to be making large arcs and puts extra stress on the coil. Its better to use a dwell meter, to check the points for function with the hole ignition system hooked up. Leaving the plugs resting on grounded metal is fine when not wanting to start the engine, since limits the distance the spark has to jump to ground. A fluke 78 or 88 is a example of a usefull meter that comes with the dwell option.
PD Blaster is made just 30 min from me. A buddy of my used to work there said he can get a can or two for free any time he wanted one. Love that stuff. saved me plenty of times.
I owned one of these probably late 70's, and probably paid a couple of hundred bucks for it at the time. Was just thinking that it's one I wish I still had. Fun little truck!
Love the ol Dat soon. My gramps drove one similar to that back in the early 70's. Him and Granma would travel from West Idaho to Central Calif. to visit in the summer. That thing would not die. LOL Oh can you all pay Christian so she can buy some real shoes and not crocks. LOL Love Ya Christian. Doing a hell of a job videoing.
My first car was a 1966 Datsun 1200 pickup. Easy to work on and very dependable. I got it when I was 16 and had it until I was 19. Great first car. It was 1972 when I got it.
I knew a Ol boy that had one of these waaayy back in the day, he drove the bag off of it too, he junked out of it and everything, something would break on it and he’d fix it and keep on going! Yeah the outside of the bed was about rusted off of his too! Oh yeah he pulled a little Ol trailer behind his too! Them old Datsuns, like the Toyota’s you couldn’t hardly beat them.
Austin engine, Datsun bought the Austin British Motor company old 1200cc moulds and tool factory machinery for this Datsun's engine. I had a Datsun saloon version in New Zealand and was able to put my 1950's Austin A40 Devon 1200 engine head straight onto the Datsun 1200 block. Datsun cast the motor with a much better metal makeup whereby the cylinder bore never wore out. Even the distributer is from Austin. Great reliable vehicle!! Cheers Daniel
I've worked on Datsun and Nissan vehicles for years... Finding an old PL320 pickup that hasn't been completely devoured by the "tin worms" is highly unusual. And it appears that the windshield is near perfect too. Amazing find guys.
I had a 1971 620. On a 30 mile commute, the slave cylinder failed. To get home, I killed the engine,, put it in first, then started the engine. That got me rolling, then I shifted without the clutch and came on home. Bought that little beauty in 1978 for $1200 and sold it in 1983 for $1200.
I worked at a dealership in the 70s and we'd see one of these from time to time. For some reason most of the mechanical parts were available well into the 80s. Clutch master and slave cyls were a very common replacement item. Frozen wheel cyls were also a thing on just about every brake job.
My friend's family had one of these in the 70's. He joked that if you looked underside of the hood you would see the beer can labels. One winter we were out driving snd pulled up next to a full size chevy truck up to the doors in deep snow. We were driving on top of the snow without sinking.
The switching of petals reminded me of faculty member of my high school had a car that they used the clutch petal as the gas petal. I went to pull in into the garage to do an oil change and mashed the clutch petal and the brake petal at the same time. I banged into the door. The teacher was disabled and had to use her left foot on the gas (clutch petal). It was an automatic transmission, but when you see a clutch petal, you instinctively mash it to the floor. It had 2 gas petals and 1 brake petal.
I had a 1964 Datsun 1200 when I lived in Ecuador in the 60s. It was just like that one but did not have a box on the back. It was integrated with the cab. It was a duplicate of a Fiat 1100, but it was reliable. It had four on the tree, but the shift patern was backwards. It was a nice little truck.
Found yourself a very nice runner. Hope you can get the hydraulics fixed so you have both clutch and brakes. I remember them from my 2 years on Guam, fun little trucks
I've got a 67 International pick up, 6 cyl. 3 speed. It runs, won't idle clutch is OK the little parts are impossible to find as I would imagine this one is. I'm close to Ft Hood ( it'll always be Ft Hood) my bed is good but floorboards are ventalated. Easy fix. As I recall a 4 cylinder Ford engine fit in these old Datsun pickups. Yeah I'm old enough to remember a lot of these little trucks running around.
The distributor cap has threaded pins inside the holes that the spark plug wires thread onto. To remove the old ones just twist them counter clockwise and they will unthread and to put the new ones in, just cut them to length and twist them into the holes until they bottom out. The pins thread themselves right up the center of the wires. That gas tank is from a snow blower. I am thinking that if you were to take apart the clutch master cylinder you will find it is just stuck and with a disassembly and a cleaning it will probably work. For some reason the rubber cups in those old Datsun master cylinders don't seem to fail very often and they often just need a good cleaning to work again.
Now I know why American always make a big car. I could see Lance could barely move his body in the cab. Anyway, I'm happy to see that little old lady can run on her own power. Nice work guys. Love from Jakarta.
Call puddin he tell you how to get that old Datsun running with stick of chewing gum and two zip ties it's even got his favorite color on puddin fab shop blu3 😂
Great job! Now to fix all the jury rigs! Neat little truck! I know where there’s a Toyota of about the same year that’s for sale! But I’m sure the guy wants to much for it.
You can put several hundred thousand miles on those Datsun's from the 60's. Our neighbor in Colorado had one and it had well over 300,000 miles on it and ran very well.

Haven’t seen this yet but what a beauty. I have to go to shop for few beers and then sit down for this.
Puddin isn't going to be happy when he sees he missed one in his backyard. Seems strange to not see you guys trying to free one up in from the start.
Thinking the same thing

He's got enough work to do on the projects he's got.

For future reference, if it’s sparking at the coil , the points are working just fine , you can’t get one without the other 👍🏻
Puddin is going to be jealous....😂
That crank is pretty cool
I remember a few of these trucks running around Canada..Just very basic dependable machines!..Way to go TR!

Would of loved seeing you and dad both inside that truck, looked little tight in there. Neat little truck, great videos as always.
Привет ребята. Наконец-то новое видео. Прекрасно сработано! Отлично! Продолжайте! Жду новые видео

Love this and like to hear them talking. I see the mute videos but not so great
Lance what an awesome truck 🚚 beautiful. Thank you God Bless
Great job! Now to fix all the jury rigs! Neat little truck! I know where there’s a Toyota of about the same year that’s for sale! But I’m sure the guy wants to much for it.
I've come here from Tiktok. More ads on Tiktok will push millions here. Thumbs up
You can put several hundred thousand miles on those Datsun's from the 60's. Our neighbor in Colorado had one and it had well over 300,000 miles on it and ran very well.
These trucks have a great body style !
Great video, guys.
