They can tolerate the hot and cold. As someone who lives in a climate with both, they are one of the only animals I don't have to over-worry about with weather.

Hey Sonya....I reread my comment ...and it sounded like I was being contradicting on the turkens being quite and docile and they are ....they are the best bird .....but I've created a monster ....but not in a bad way ....I've spoiled her so much when she was little she justed look so small and dainty....fast forward to today lol my neighbor asked if I had a Guinea 😂 she has picked up my laugh with spending so much time with her so for her to call me outside she puts on this musical show of my laugh 😂😂 I still don't know how she became top hen maybe cause I spoiled her ...I thought for sure my molten Java @ 12 pounds would be top hen but nope ...that's my Rens spot 😂😂😂...if I can figure out how to put up a video of her I will...and they are also voice commands for them....we have so many hawks ...thought it was best 🤷🤦🤣🤣
The shape and texture of your turken chicken eggs don't look normal. They should look smooth and have a nice shape to it. The older birds have discoloration and odd shaped eggs as well as a rough texture indicating bad genetics and unhealthy for eating. I have raised country chickens throughout my teenage years and we never had eggs that looked this way. However when I did try out introducing new gene pool in my existing flow for which I purchased few eggs from the store I noted two of such being exactly like yours .they looked odd but I didn't think much of it then. However one didn't hatch out the baby was fully formed within the egg but not strong enough to hatch out. The second one hatched but it was a sick chicken. Hence my experience tells me that your older hens aren't laying health eggs. You need to start feeding them more organic food and less of pellets or commercial chick meal .And you should feed them garlic every morning as their first food intake of the day. You certainly will see the difference.
Hello you tube friend. When you feed garlic to your chickens does it change the flavor of your hens eggs? Just curious. Also how much are you giving them? Thank you for sharing your chicken knowledge.
@@calijyym03 Dear you tuber.... My knowledge is through personal experience. Thank you for your question. Garlic had anti bacterial and antibiotic properties which is a super food when consumed early in the morning on an empty stomach .also garlic and onion mash with fresh raw veggies and whole grain becomes a very tasty midday meal for your poultry (ducks /geese /chicken etc etc.) This enhances the birds immunity against diseases and laying hen's give better results. Even young chickens can be given this type of food it's best for growth and vitality. The eggs taste /colors and size doesn't change because of garlic but you will see much healthier results when you have healthy birds. Commercial chick pellets and foods are highly processed and freezed dried so they do contain other preservatives and hormones boosters and other such drugs all which enter the body of your chicken and ultimately your own body too once consumed . Chickens are lively birds and with natural diets they are more active and healthy. I had a flock of 33 hens and 4 roosters all free range. There is also a very distinctive texture of your chickens flesh when it is fed all natural foods and allows 8-10 hours of outdoor activities. Good luck with your chickens and enjoy this hobby. If you like to know my organic natural food recepie for poultry let me know. It's easy and it's all available in your home. ☺. 100%easy cost effective and with 100%results.Good luck and God bless cheers ☺

It's fine. I welcome constructive criticism. It's OK not to agree, as long as your nice about it.

I'm from Transylvania and I know that they can tolerate the cold (here we can get -20'C).
n-au o treaba, am una la bunici care intodeauna fuge dupa mine si reuseste frecvent sa iasa din ograda, is foarte spastice asa lol
just got 3 chicks today including a turken, bc someone said it was ugly so of course that meant i needed to pick that one and give it all the love
So few birds on the poultry mkt.are any thing but hot climate .these are great in florida .with no heat stress .great vid thanx
Is nice
My turkens love the snow
They handle the cold very well. Because they have less feathers, more protein goes to the muscles. That's why they're more meaty and lay more eggs.
Hello, do turkens grow as fast as new hmasters or plymouth rocks (12 to16 weeks)?
I have 4 that are one month old and I think they are all boys!! Is there a way to tell if you saw a picure?
So is is it a chicken mixed with a turkey?
Nope, it's all chicken..
The blond one was very opinionated. I could hear the "Well! I never!"
We call them cobra where we come from

You mean
turkey + chicken = ??
They are called Naked Neck Chickens. They are know as Turken, cause they "look" like they are half chicken & half turkey. It is look only.
They are really best chicken breed.
Thanks for video!
