Bonnie, When I was a kid I thought he's just another boy singer. I was so wrong he can sing any song the best, and he's always energetic and uplifting. After reading his book I realized he's been through hell too many times. hE IS WHAT YOU SEE A GREAT GUY AND GREAT SINGER
RONNIE BURKE This is the first time I've heard the song from the male standpoint. There's three other versions on here that you should listen to - they're by Kristen Chenoweth, Julie London and Dinah Shore. All magnificent and Julie London's arrangement and vocal are intimate and soft just like this one. It was the first hit song ever composed by John Kander and Fred Ebb.
What I liked most about Rydell in the begging was the pure joy of his "rockin'" voice, and then there was his beautiful ballad voice as displayed here on "My Coloring Book." My God, this recording is so great, Cameo should have pulled it out as a single and made it a hit all over again. And when will ABKCO start releasing the rest of his LPs, so we don't have to deal with the snap, crackle and pops of vinyl? Thank you Melanie for a beautifully touching video to go along with Bobby's music. - JG
