@@themowerman I bought one last week. My uncle had the same one which I borrowed , but I put a hole in the deck hitting a flint 😭😭 £600 to replace but I loved it so much I bought one of my own too. Added the mulching kit too which works well for my needs 👍
Look forward to seeing the gearbox strip down. I’ve done a few, both roller and 4 wheeled. Pinion shaft and gear can wear as can the dog clutch. Everything is available. Id recommend replacing seal’s also. A very satisfying job to do and an opportunity to clean out the gearbox and refill with new gear oil. I use 80w 90. There a good strong mower.
Your drive is engaging albeit sporadically. Cable adjustment may cure your problem. Roller out will allow you to inspect bearings etc and replace seals. Plus it’ll make for better channel content. More work for you tho 😂👍
Hi Mick good video nice to see one of these mowers on your channel, you know I love these machines. Thanks for the mention and it will be good to see you do the gearbox. Many seem to be a bit nervous of delving into the gearboxes of these but they aren’t to complicated, I’ve actually got another gearbox to sort out but the one on my latest purchase is seized so that should be interesting 🙂👍
Brilliant video Mick.Quality engine the clutch may only be the dog leg worn hopefully looking forward to follow on video.Hello Riley boy.All the best to youall
@@themowerman yes would be nice hope it dont cost too much.but an investment well worth it.Quality is quality .Have you still got your atco with the roller
Great video mick I've done a couple of those gearboxes as well, I bought a genuine honda dog clutch from l&s engineers as you said around 35 quid, easy job just a bit long winded, currently just been given a honda hrx476 qxe with gearbox problems but on inspection its working fine so maybe the belt had slipped off as it came to me in bits
👍 Great video. You have to love getting deals that include a bunch of extra parts, they always come in handy later. I am a bit jealous of your yard though, We are still waiting for the rains to come here in Texas.
@@themowerman The rains are coming... in 2-3 weeks it will be hot and wet, and there will be a line at the door. I have a bunch too, all organized in a neat line and waiting for Spring.
Well that was ridiculously easy Mick! what was he using to try and undo it? I was expecting some complexed method you dreamed up! unbelievable. Great to have all those spares to mix and match. Those pigeons aren’t fighting 🤣🤣 they are doing naughty things on your shack flower. Dam! I never win anything, well done Kim. Don’t say better luck next time! 🤣🤣. Well solved buddy boy, great video. Get that chair oiled! Shame about that clutch though.
Great video Mick. I’ve got a HRH 536QXE with a GXV160 engine. Cleaned the carb and the bloody thing is still hunting without the choke. As soon as I enable the choke it runs as sweet as a nut!!Will try the carb clean again using brushes and then see. Anything you can suggest if that doesn’t work.
@@themowerman a little better using the carb brush kit but still surging, will change the plug next. If all else fails what carbs do you recommend Mick ? Or do I check the clearance on the flywheel magnets or valves ?

Do u know where I could buy a carburetor for this gvx 160 engine can't find one anywhere mine seems to be leaking like crazy so just going to replace it.
@@themowerman it's leaking from the petrol tap on the carburetor, the black handle which opens and closes to let petrol in when I try to start it petrol will go everywhere leaving none of it going to the engine.

You need to use gas tip cleaning tools.. and rim that main jet out.. or stick it in an ultrasonic cleaner.. if not then a new carb will be needed mate
