- Опубликовано: 23 июл 2024
- We recently posted a tutorial breaking down how to throw a switch kick (shuffle lead leg roundhouse), and now here are 8 applications to use this kick in sparring & competition. Here are the following Muay Thai kickboxing strategies:
1. Behind the jab
2. Kick the arms
3. Check & counter
4. Kick on the retreat
5. Double it up
6. Catch, pass, and return
7. Delay the kick
8. Feint the shuffle

*A fine tiny detail*
This teaches us how to _"Land"_ the kick and not just ways to do it
The person who disliked this got KO’d with a switch kick
2 very angry victims indeed
And their grandmas
I think for most good videos like these, where there's nothing to dislike, it's mostly accidents when there's a dislike.
Good video as always, your stretching, and exercise videos help me out so much. You're an inspiration to all underdogs. Keep up the good work
Switch kick is one of my favorite strikes in sparring. Thanks Shane!
Great stuff Shane, This has been one of my signature kicks back in the 90s. In my experience, it even better if you do jab, right cross switch kick... The kick switches at the same time you are doing the right cross, this does two things, it loads your left hip for a more powerful kick, and the right cross hides the switch kick because your opponent is distracted defending against it (defending against the right cross)! I love your channel, great job man!!
I like this strategy. Looks effective. You can work a lot of offensive, powerful strikes off of the jab.
Great to have this content again! Thanks for the great video.
Love the consistency lately. 🙌
Great video Shane. I'm going to use this later on during sparing.
This was incredibly helpful. The only setup I had going for me was the shuffle off the jab, but I'd miss the switch kick constantly, so then I'd abandon the kick and use the shuffle as bait for a superman punch. Can't wait to work on these setups.
I love the switch kick and these are really good concepts for me to use. Thanks Shane!
I just started learning muay Thai and your videos are so great.. I'm definitely gonna try this..thank you..
AWESOME VIDEO, I LOVE IT
Many things I learned by this video. Thanks man!
i been looking for this tip good to go man
Awesome video Shane thank you!
Starting my first Muay Thai class in an hour 💪🏾🔥
Enjoy!
I started in November...best thing I have done for years.
Great video Shane love using the lead leg keep up the good work!
Quality vid, as always. Will definitely use this next training session.
Thanks Joe, let me know if it sparks any questions!
fightTIPS will do
go to the leg or sweep on that double shuffle switch. works most of the time every time
Amazing video, I will try this tomorrow while sparring
Thats good stuff. Thanks.
Thanks Shane, thanks Vince. 🙏
Nice!
Thank you so much
wow great placement idea for the kick.. that helps !! so they don't catch..aim shoulder area
Whoaaaaaaa excellent! thanks!!! I"ll put these into practice
Great video big improvement from past videos
As good as always
I wish that I could have all off your lessons...
Great video!
Fun fact, the "delay the kick" is the basic theory of the tornado kick and any other kick with 360° of rotation or more... I love those kicks
Shane please make a video on how to make a combination and make long audio tutorial on shadow boxing
Ty guys
Pure genius 👌🏽
I like how this channel evolved from Street Fight Tips, back when Shane was teaching a few punches, tips and tricks and so forth. To a Channel for Combat Sports Coaching.
Like the underdogs evolved into fighters, they forgot about all those 'street fight self defence'.
Amaizing, i haven't heard in a while #BulliesSuck , it's been a while.
The underdogs aren't in the search for the self-defence anymore, they are in search for the gold and glory!
🙏
that delay move is very nice :D
those shots to the arms are killer 👀
God tips very useful 👍🏻🤙🏻
nice !!
thanku
Thanks to you bro I won my first street fight against a bully seriously man you’re an inspiration
No need to thank me, buddy. Be safe!
@Jason Genova how? He won the fight? Just because he might not be the greatest fighter doesn't mean that he is a fool. He fought his battles and won. Tell me how that makes him a fool?
Jason Genova 😂 you’re an idiot bro why are you so mad? Did you get beat up too? Taking personal offense and shit
That's wussup
thhhhxxxx!!!!
Thanks
yes.
Those gloves are so cool
Thank you Shane, it is a very good strategy.
I have a question. I am practicing kyokushin, where normally you keep a very close distance.
Can you suggest some strategies to go with kicks from a very close distance?
Can you post a new video tutorial on setting double right hand like Manny Pacquiao
Any similar videos on the normal, back leg roundhouse, Muay Thai style?
I practise this quite often as an orthodox. Trying to make this as a deadly weapon.
I usually go for an inside leg with my switch after my jab. Then I'll go for either an overhand right, or spinback kick.
Shane do a question mark kick video
Very true, a fighter must be a master of deception.
A video suggestion: the most versatile techniques that are adaptable for a variety of different situations (eg: the reverse turning kick is powerful, but very limited in when and how it can be used). The ones to focus on, and that give the _best bang for buck_ out of practicing with them.
Also the best low risk moves, for example that tip about kicking for the shoulder as it's harder to catch, I wish I knew that in my old Tae Kwon Do days.
We've all been in that embarrassing moment where we're standing there with our leg caught, at least once.
It's a learning experience.
Wait, you got your leg caught in TKD? We weren't allowed to do that.
@@Elmy_Kiu Neither were we, which meant I was _totally unprepared_ for it in a schoolyard fight.
In retrospect, *embarrassing* might not have summed up the situations deficiencies.…
Hi Shane, thanks for this one, I really was looking forward to it! I have a question (maybe an idea for a follow-up video? :) ). When, if anytime, do you throw this kick targeting the liver? And how do you minimize the chance of catching the elbow in the process?
Thanks for the content and cheers from Italy!
The double switch is nice 👊 Especially for blasting a low kick while keeping eyes high 🤙
Hey shane how about how to land power right kick
Just on 6, with the pass, my gym teaches to do a snappy pat down with the other hand to ensure they land out of base. Thoughts?
Can u do some beginner stuff
Hey Shane. How do one heal boxer's fracture. I'm pretty sure it's not a fracture but after hitting so many powerful hooks on a heavy bag my wrist hurts like crazy. It's been a month now it's getting better but the pain is still there. What should I do to heal 💯% as I have also stopped training because of this. Any suggestions ?
Hey Shane, can you make a video on how to properly and quickly flow from punches to kicks...
I am having a little trouble doing that, it comes off really awkward and not smooth.
Noted, Suraj!
Suraj Shaw combinations .
Practice! Practice, practice, practice. It’s an unusual movement and it just takes a while for your body and brain to get used to the movement.
@@drumrocka I am practicing but it feels like I am doing something wrong. The transition from punches to kicks always feel awkward and not proper.
Suraj Shaw have you tried filming yourself? That has had a pretty profound effect on my technique, being able to see my technique and where I can improve
-yeah i do that In MMA Amateur fight after i go in Shaolin Temple !
Very effective kick when fighting a tall, cocky opponent standing in an orthodox stance who wants to sit back and wait for you to get in the pocket. Maintain eye contact and blast the lead leg. The first few might not hurt but after even just 5-6 of them you can see the leg start to buckle.
Shane my man how heavy is the heavy bag there?
What's up Shane
I feel like fight tips would be good in ufc
Khabib Nurmagomedov & Jon Jones boxing defense called the *Arm Post Defense* is there biggest standing up weakness or that's what people believe since the *Arm Post Defense* is unique & very Effective if used properly
The way I land a switch kick is by throwing a switch jab first. So switch your stance, and use your right hand to throw a jab (orthodox), or left hand (southpaw). Then throw the kick after you've got them in the face a couple times.
Hello
Hello there!
How'd ya do partner
well damn
Bubble shuffle
Guys what do you preffer for mma kick boxing or myai thai
surely muay thai for the extra clinching techniques and use of elbows
How do you deal with a aggressive heavy puncher in Muay Thai ?
He said it in the video, kick his arms.
Jab of the kick to stop him backing you up
That change of tempo I'm sure is being used by GSP. He does it when he goes for the overhand.
is Bubba Jenkins still on your channel?
Shane can u say.how to make homemade boxing bag
Pillow case full of old underwear makes an excellent homade boxing bag.
Michael Powers lmao wtf really?
Michael Powers I’ll get my grandmas underwear
Youre gonna be a champion soon!
Can someone please help me. I started a boxing channel but have gotten very low views and some hate comments on my last video, what do i do?
GodsonGodz I checked out your channel you seem like a genuine dude. Keep it up be yourself and you’ll go places😃
Everyone gets hate comments bro, don't worry about it. Stay consistent and you'll get there.
Just ignore the hate shit dont let it bring You down
5. Spaming kind of reminds me of Taekwondo
Shane i am from India and i am a big fan of you
Hey Shane, i am now training MMA with adults (I am 13), do you think my training would be more effective if i would train with people my age?
It won't make much difference. You have elders to look out for you there. Where I train am around kids younger than me a lot. But I have the coach who's like an elder brother. While the kids are like younger brothers. Enjoy your training. And bring some friends if you feel alone
I am 172 cm, 52 kg. Apart from me the smallest one in the group is like 176 and 70kg.
Is that GO HORSES Werdun son
I suck at kicks anywhere above thigh height... mostly because I am not flexible enough.
Recognizing what you need to fix is the hard part -- now get to work 😉👍
I am 15 and Have been doing kickboxing for 8 months in an adults class However I spare with this 1 guy who I acctually get the feeling he wants to kill me And goes way to hard on power. The second problem is I constantly forget my footwork, Keeping my hands up Any combinations and i struggle with flinching and just taking a punch any tips
U can clinch Up and use knees, or use kicks and jabs to keep the distance. It works very well to me.
Use it. When in an actual combat situation, they aren’t going to be going soft, so just think of this as experience. Him going hard is actually you getting used to that kinda intensity. It sucks, but does have its positives.
😍😘

What part of my leg or foot do I want to strike with?
Shins
Bottom half of your shin; check the first part of this video out here for instructions: ruclips.net/video/Hl4xhjTzT08/видео.html
@@thepyroguy624 ok thanks 😊
Tho you know how to a fight sumo werstler
Legend has it that if you come early enough fight tips will like your comment
That's a myth... I respond with a comment 🏕️
@@fighttips But you like the comment who replies you, right?

Bro why is there soooo much shit to this fighting shit idk if I can keep up so much to learn 😭🤯
Edit: can you do a video on on the things that are most important to learn when fighting, not the basics but everything from stand up to ground that’s the most important
Ps love your videos 💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏾
@Follow the howl I think he meant the technical stuff in the basics. Like the jab is basic but how you throw it and when to throw it is technical. He wants more insight on the basics I assume.
I know there is so much shit but honestly, do what works best for you that’s what you should grab from these videos, do what works for you, don’t do every single thing necessarily because you’ll overwhelm yourself on information
0:56. I think I can leave this here without context
u changed my life duude
i was a soccer player for 8 years when i got fired from my team i switched to kick boxing i discovered ur channel i start working hard at home and in the gym... after just 1 and a half year im a local champ thanks alot man
What if Vince blocks the kick with his elbows?
Then he's shins gonna Hurt and get swollen
@@thepyroguy624 mirror force
He's gonna break his elbows.
Yknow, i kinda miss the old videos, when it was just shane. Don't get me wrong, i like the other guys, but i miss the old ones
Can you go through what it takes to be a pro boxer or fighter in general? I was in a legitimate boxing place until I had to move to a small town with no places to box at all so I started my own street boxing thing. I want to actually box for real though and go up against people I know are actual fighters. Do you know what I can do to get myself in that? I live in Ohio btw for more information for you
Please we want Arabic translation 💔
عربي ههه
I've never been hurt by a kick in a fight even against mma nuts...ofcourse I'd get f@$!%ed up if I let them kick me wherever they want..but not in a fight
Be careful when you kick at their arms. I question mark kicked my sparring partner and he brought his elbow down on my foot hard on accident. Couldn’t walk for the rest of the day.
The only thing I don't like is that you are pushing off of him with your kick. Even when in demonstrations, the leg should be loose and very relaxed. What you are doing is a pretty common thing among newer students to Muay thai that transition from traditional martial arts.
Hmm I disagree - if the leg is too loose you transfer less force; pushing off your opponent is also helpful for returning to stance quickly.
