Hey gabriel, i just won my first full contact muay thai fight at an ikf tournament. Your videos were on my mind and watch list almost everyday leading up to it. Thank you for all the knowledge. A couple switch kicks were needed to land outside leg kicks because we had opposite stances
Congrats bro, had my first fight just over a month ago, I give so much credit of my knowledge to these videos. Seems like Gabe has that effect on a lot of us. Love this community
1. Jab(s) pump up jabs, couple heavy ones first, then a light one and kick 2. Any combo that ends with a cross, step forward or switch after the cross and kick Side note: Exit strategy for lead leg kick, after you've kicked don't step over but return to southpaw stance and then back to orthodox 3. Step through knee: hands forward you try to create space w/the knee and kick 4. inside low: first test your opponent with your inside low kick like a jab (don't swing your arms while kicking). Then set up the left kick any way you want with your inside low kick which gives a little skip to it
This video was very useful for my switch kicking game Gabriel, I felt like I really learned a lot just by watching this video and the most important thing I took from this video is to pull your front leg back first and then follow up with the back leg upwards and then throw the kick like I am attached to a string, overall a very useful video and I cannot wait to try this out in sparring but before that get some practice with it of course keep up the amazing content as always Gabriel!
Would you be able to make a video commenting on TKD round kicks? Speaking as someone who's been doing MMA over a year now with a background in TKD. Would love to hear your thoughts on where it does and doesn't fit. Thanks for the content!
As someone who did TKD for almost 12yrs, and now does MMA I would love to hear it as well! I find I use my lead leg round kick ALL the time. Both offensively, and defensively, almost as a check left.
@@ЕвгенийЛарин-й6ю nothing is inferior or superior. Muay Thai kick can hit harder, but is much slower, and much more telegraphed. Both of them have their places. A good martial artist should be able to do both
@@ЕвгенийЛарин-й6ю I know how to kick. It is slower. That’s exactly why it hits harder. Because you have more of a wind up. You get more swing time, use more hip, leg straiter, etc. the Thai kick is insanely good and has tons and tons of used. But it isn’t superior, or inferior, to any other kick type.
for me personally i like to use it as kind of a caunter, i check a legkick and immidiatly switch and kick to the body or leg or i copy somthing tj dillashaw does wich is a swith cross to round house
Hi Gabriel, can you make a video on how to perform in the fight? How to translate from the gym into the fight. In sparring I’m so good but in the fight, I freeze. I’m 0-1 pro now. As an ammy I just brawled and had some success. Won more than I lost but I’ve never been able to implement my training into the competition. Please help!

What happened to biooptimizers?
@@G36-999 That's a pure magnesium supplement. I am sure Gabriel still takes it. These look like multivitamins, fish oil and electrolytes.
