Atlanta's defense was top 10 last season for anyone who cares, and that's despite not having a great pass rush.
Falcons gave up the 8th fewest passing yards while allowing 24 touchdown passes and giving up 2000 rushing yards. Both were bottom 5 in the league

2:24 SAS says Atlanta has a lot of holes to fix. But they really don't if Kirk plays to his previous level. Offense should be good/great. Defense was already good last year. We draft a good edge rusher and this team is ready to "compete" for sure. Do I see a SB appearance? Not really, but the entire NFC is weak so its not a stretch to see the Falcons make a conference championship game.
Kirks Offenses average 13th in scoring. Even with Diggs, Even with Jefferson.

In 2018 Kirk's QBR was 59.5, ranking him 14th the NFL, slightly above average. In 2018 the Viking offense ranked 19th in the NFL in scoring points/game, BELOW the AVERAGE NFL team. Kirk failed. In 2017 the Viking offense ranked 10th in scoring, well above average. In 2018 the offense became less productive with the addition of Kirk. The huge money he received left less money to pay other players, hurting the roster quality. In 2017 Viking QB Case Keenum ranked 2nd in QBR. In Kirk's six Vikings seasons his average QBR ranking was 15th in the NFL.
They had the 29th best QB and they just got the 10th. It is an upgrade by the definition of the word and how numbers work.

This year, Atlanta decided to target Cousins, who was not the only QB on the market. Minnesota did not release Cousins. They would have resigned him for a lesser amount of money had Atlanta not made their offer. Atlanta's desire for Cousins and their belief that he would improve their team resulted in the big contract. Has Cousins been fortunate in his business dealings? Yes. Has he earned the money he' made? If Atlanta makes the playoffs and wins at least their first game, I would say 'yes'. Cousins will have earned his contract.

Kirk is a better fit. He just came from a zone run, west coast offense. The Falcons new OC from the Rams, Zac Robinson, comes from the Sean McVay zone run, west coast offense.
Russel Wilson's best strength is throwing the ball deep outisde the numbers and improvising. Arthur Smith's offense is a 2 tight end, heavy set, "exotic smashmouth" offense that uses a lot of play action and targets of the middle of the field often- which is something we all saw russel struggle with in Denver.

I’m going to roll with the Steelers, why?
- Last year the Steelers went 5-1 in the AFC North without Kenny Pickett playing the rest of last season. They were 7-2 before he went down
- They have Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren as a RB duo
- They have Pickens, Friermuth, Darnell Wahsington, Calvin Austin III already.
- There drfense finsished Top-5 & Top-10 with there Top-3 players Minkah, TJ, & Cameron Heyward only playing 13 Quarters together last season.l and they just acquired Patrick Queen from the Ravens and have Alex Highsmith as well. Along with being on the field longer than any offense in the Top-5 in Time of Possession back to back years. Russell Wilson with those weapons in Pittsburgh will sure fix that.
