I agree that you normally should do age 3 as soon as pos, but the issue in this game seemed to be more that he was using his spears only as frontline when he had cav killing stuff behind them and could have easily turned and killed them
@@marklebury Egyptian Spearman really aren't powerful enough to defeat Contarius on their own. One to one they go down very fast. Even with Anubis's poison damage.

super interested in any aom tourments. Also you must have "good" units, because civs, gods, nations what ever need to feel unquie and there is nothing worse then a cool unit being boring or bad. 99.9% of players are bad and this will never affect them cause we need to get good first
@@JD-dg1kj Thats also because he invested all in units meanwhile the gaia player was spending a good amount on upgrades, also the frontline was resisting pretty good and he couldn't just advace with the slingers trying to target the back line becasuse he would have been target of cavalry. I think he should have invested more time into rading and invading the right side of the map pushing the gais player back or getting the third TC on the left side. Too much tunel vision on that middle of the map

Valkryires op if you have them on no attack stance, use them at the last minute when your troops are out of health mostly, not far back from the frontline, priest will heal them much faster. Same for healing springs/temples/isis monument
Can a ptah into an Horus rush when you feel secure enough works? ,With a focus on barracks units. Could be done on seth or Ra (with Ra having a bigger eco, but less bonus on said units).
I want to see MID elo games, because they are much more entertaining than pro games. I don't care at all 'who' the player is or what his ELO or reputation is, I care about watching an entertaining game. They are less concerned with perfect build orders, picking the 'best' pantheons, and equal numbers of units and stutter step dance micro contests, and instead they like making cool units and doing non-optimal but interesting strategies. Games where players are of too low elo just turn into silly comedy though. I would say ELO 900-1400 would be optimum. When I see a heading such as 'number one player vs number two player' I just think 'oh that is going to be boring I'm not going to watch that'. Honestly I just want to see games where unusual tactics and units are used, or games where there are massive swings, such as a game I played myself recently where I lost 67 villagers and still came back and won. As soon as a pro player gets a slight disadvantage or loss, they often just resign.
You see some hysterical shit in low elo too. Friends and I watched a 3v3 where a Greek player looked like he was trolling his team for the first 20 minutes. His teammates were getting pushed in, then we check out his base and find that he has 5 temples with 70 villagers split between only food and favor. He literally just autoqued an army of only hydras and steamrolled the game. We were dying

I personally think there shouldn’t be bans in AoM, I feel like we would see higher echelon of gaming if we could see pros absolutely master their strategies and gods. And if you think that’s unbalanced, they can be easily countered if you know what strategy they will be going for every time, so it’ll force them to adapt, instead of just repeating builds for hundreds of games.

Poseidons secret is 30% cost reduction instead of 15% and both heavy and champion upgrades for the contarius cost only halve as much as they should (the tech tree shows the right amount but its halved ingame).. That plus all the atlantean and gaia buffs is just an ez win button. Its such an unfair advantage to spam out heavy contarius for no ressources with such high speed and stats... And wadjet needs a buff to his micro capabitlity for sure. Its so slow barely microable at all and has 0 hp. Its such a useless myth unit if u dont spam a lot of them and even then they die quite fast...

The bots in Retold are a lot better than they were in the original, I don't think they even cheat at Titan Difficulty

they also have less dmg.
Toxotes are quite a bit better when it comes to DPS though.
