I loved every minute of this video! Just have to tell you though about my first summit of PP. June 1, 1975, I was not the first auto on the climb... We passed several larger cars on the way up, gravel road on the top half. 1973 Pinto St Wgn, 2L, family of 4 on board and following a snow plow into the summit parking lot, we were the first automobile to summit Pikes Peak in 1975. No credit, no prize, little O2, what a beautiful view though. Hated to descend. Thanks again for the screaming and fascinating video!
@@Remzly - they're both dangerous... but in terms of sheer numbers that allow for direct comparison, Isle of Man has claimed more lives per event, than any other sanctioned race event of my knowledge. Pikes Peak definitely has its risks... but they're honestly far lower than even the Dakar rally.
I was wondering why the brand of engine was never mentioned. The engineers at Suzuki built a game changer world wide with the release of the GSX1300R ENGINE back in 1999. I am a bit biased as I own my own Busa that has given me thrills for close to a decade. So... a big Congratulations to all of you team members for your commitment, dedication, and focus to make it all come together on one glorious day! Also.. to you 3 drivers.. you are a gutsy bunch of calculating men! It takes nerve, daring, and guts to hold your life in your hands so many times in the minutes it took to reach the peak. My hat is off to all of you. A truly Great accomplishment! Thank you for showing this video to the world. Also... doing so much with the lightest combo that you guys engineered to perfection.

I've said it before and said it again - do not stop making these videos guys and don't stop doing what you love. What you're doing is infectious as all hell! In awe of the team spirit you all share driven all on the same passion and love for the sport of racing. Hat will always be off to you Cole and your team. Huge congrats and awesome to have been able to watch and experience it.
As someone who learned how to drive in those mountains I totally agree that you only do it if your in sync with the mountain That being said racing up the mountain means nothing the real test is downhill.
Good content but I imagine it’s not a larger channel because much of the content is focused in certain areas but also a lot of their cars are not in reality of affordability for normal people and seems many larger corporate sponsored content doesn’t get as large. Still entertaining stuff though. I’d love to get behind the wheel of their cars lay it down.
Absolutely fantastic!!!! I feel so inspired to follow my life long plan to be part of the New Zealand version of pike's peak , " The Race to the sky " Cadrona , Queens town , I've been planning for meny years, designing , sleepless nights building in my mind, drawings etc etc ,. Absolutely freaking amazing, emotional, and a whole lot of pride, and I'm not even a part of the actual team, just absolutely blown away, well done guys 👏🏼👍🏻🍻
Shit the first PPHC in 1916 the winner Rea Lentz recorded a time of 20:55.6 driving his Romano Demon Special that was powered by a Curtiss Aircraft engine. It was the Subaru of the 1910s lmfao
Pikes Peak holds for me, the same sort of attraction like Isle of Man TT, Paris - Dakar and similar adventures…..so much so this film has got you a new subscriber! 👍 On a side note, if they set this time using a manual shifter, imagine how much faster they would be with a reliable paddle-shift setup….me thinks there is much much more to come 😮😎🙏👏👏👏🤟

Well done you guys i loved every second og this video just goes to show its not the size of an engine but how it all comes together with a excellent driver
I have been having an absolute blast with this car in Forza horizon 5, to be honest, I assumed it was a pretend toy, like some of the hotwheels cars they have added in the game, but no, youtube offered me this video and I'm like wait...this is a real vehicle? Outstanding! It would be a dream to have a rip in the real one, man it's fun in the game, especially on the hotwheels tracks doing loops and spirals. :)
When I was stationed at Ft Carson in the late 80s I used to drive up PP all the time. There were no paved roads and no guardrails whatsoever. And yet they raced. Man, I'd like to race Kart up that beast.
The one thing i learned about the peak tires are everything . Most run a endurance tire not me i run super sticky and wore out by the time you hit the top .
Loved this video and story! I've been watching Pike Peak races since the coyotes dominated the sport. Michelle Mouton's run was awe inspiring, but this was the best of all. Congratulations on a sub 10 minute run up the mountain! Okay, time to grind some powder coat off some mating surfaces.......
Wow man! I'm so glad I've come across your awesome video, I have dreamed about a car just like this every since I was a kid watching TV biggies race and thought if only I had the money and expertise to build something like that it would be awe inspiring. Congratulations to you and your team, these Sierra RX3 cars are the pinnacle of rally cross cars, off-road, bitumen, anything, I'm sure even in ice they'd rip it up. I've shared your videos and thank you for what you've done. I've been watching Aaron Kaufman for years. I wish we could get them in Australia and love to test drive these. Much better than what's currently on the market such as Can-Am racing ATVs and Yamaha YXZ1000R. Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺🇺🇲
Grew up at the base of that mountain. Dirt roads all the way up. Overpowered full size cars, forcing skids into turning having cars pointed in the new direction before entering turns. Far to much excitement to relay here. True racing, expert drivers. I miss it. I'm 78.
Mad respect. congrats. I have done some endurance racing and just finishing is a bloody job. So happy for you guys. and the crew who helped you get there. congrats..........
I think Grand Turismo put Pikes Peak on the map for none racers back in the day. Now everybody knows of the legendary track. Must be a true riot to actually drive it in RL.
Fantastic watch! The gearbox looked to be a big hindrance to your time! Without heel and toe or somekind of rev match in the map you could tell it wanted to lock up the rear wheels. On a few hairpins you were still down shifting on the EXIT of the corners, i think with a better gearbox or some software tweaks you’d be much much faster 👍🏼 great job!
I believe that black thing on the road right before the smoke of the car caused a timing error and lost timing causing the smoke… but it’s crazy how a small pot hole of imperfections on the road can cause complete engine malfunction
Good on you Cole. God level driving. Both in the cart and behind the whole team. I ride a mobility scooter as a disabled man. Do they have a class for me to enter?

20:39 - "this is the most dangerous race track on the planet"
Isle of Man: laughs mortally
Maybe in 1987 as Walter Röhrl on Audi makes 10:47.85 on gravel road.
Isle of man is fast, so it's dangerous from that. Pikes peak is more of a dangerous road though

Loved this!
You know you are really pushing the limits when the powdercoat crushes and brake bolts loosen and fall off. Wow.
Pike's Peak is insane! That car is insane! And those guys are National Treasures.
Man, that was a close call at 29:36. I think he only missed it by 10 inches or so 😲 Great job!

This race reminds me of the Isle of Man TT. Both "old school" road races where if you screw up, you die.

Yes Aron is the reason I found out about Pikes peak...glad to see he's still up there going after that mountain
Really don't need music at all when the cars are ripping up the hill. The car alone is the perfect soundtrack IMO.
A nice doco vid on an iconic race.
