MRC looks fairly generic, yet somewhat playable. GT64 looks alright (IF SUPER GENERIC), but fairly MADDENING (24 Laps? JEEZ!! WHAT A CHORE)!! California Speed looks interesting (ALWAYS saw the arcade version at a Movie Theater Arcade We regulated when I was a kid)! That Sillicon Valley Course seems like my type of Jam ya know!! Also; funny how Midway was licensed to use Quest 64 signs through Imagineer/THQ/whowever(?) for their game once on the N64 (very interesting choice of "advertising" if ya ask me). The only one I have personal memories of Playing either by me, my brother, and/or one of our friends was Excitebike 64. GOD THAT GAME WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY AT A HOTEL where we RENTED an HOUR OF PLAYTIME via Lodgenet with the only saving grace being a Level Editor within the game itself (akin to the NES/Famicom original, but WAY WORSE IN EXECUTION ONCE your track was built). The best N64 racer FOR ME was INDEED Beetle Adventure Racing (VERY UNDERRATED Gem for the 64) and out performs ANY OTHER "Arcade-Type" Racer for the System (the N64 is EASILY MY FAVORITE Console of all time (as said across MANY VENUES you can see "Jiswa" on the map of course))! Yet another home run of a video and a Typical Bloggos W from you!! Great Job!! :3

I really liked MRC at the time. It kept me playing for ages! Fun fact, it was the first N64 game at least in PAL regions to have rumble pack support, launching slightly ahead of Lylat Wars!

You missed the best one, Top Gear Rally was a supeeeeeeeerb racing game! Great handling, nice graphics and a custom livery editor! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love Excitebike 64 Bloggo. I remember playing that game for hours on end and still play it from time to time. Amazing game it is. 8^)

Always been a fan of Genki's Tokyo Highway Battle/Xtreme Racer series and MRC is another quality racer with some nice weather effects, not to mention several alternative routes to each stage! Both GT64 and California Speed look fun, particularly California Speed with it's more forgiving handling and psychedelic trip through the insides of a computer! I really like Excitebike 64, but the controls do take some getting used to! I think possibly holding the right shoulder button down as you go round corners makes it easier to drift at higher speeds? Great video, I really enjoyed it!😊

Of all of these, MRC looks the most appealing, love Genkis other racing work. The others are a bit hit and miss, though I probably should try Excitebike

I bought MRC back in the day as I fished it out of a CEX bargain bin as they had lost the box to it :D

World Driver Championship was the absolute best driving game on N64. Even the N64 Magazine loved it.

GT64, California Speed and Excitebike 64 are my favourites on this

Wow, the rubber banding in California Speed is some bullshit! You were way in first place when that car came out of nowhere jetting past you!

Can't believe I never noticed the ocean logo all them years ago.. but it was very blurry back then on the games... makes me want to play some Ocean Spectrum games now just to see that iconic loading screen 😊

Pretty sure the 1st song from the California Speed race is also in Rush 2049 on N64. Neato!

Like the look of that first one, and I guess I should try excite bike at some point as it’s famous, but you aren’t making it look great 😅👍

Cool choices. Extreme G was (is still) my favorite racing game. Cruise World and Rush 2049 followed

I never played California Speed, but it looks like a cross between the Crusin' series and the Rush series on the same platform.

Hold on, I assumed all your videos were made using emulation. Maybe just the arcades?

    • @BloggosPow
      @BloggosPow  10 месяцев назад

Yeah arcades always are, I try to use the consoles I have (when they behave)

Get FPGA Mister and enjoy n64 with zero latency and togglable vaseline! xD

I love how MRC and GT64 are games by the same devs (Imagineer) and the latter released 2 years laters controls like garbage while the earlier one somewhat controls OK-ish.
