Even before the touch count started on the volleyball rally started I was blown away to see the score at 32-31. For those that don't follow volleyball, a set is played to 25, but you must win by two. So they had been trading points for a while at that point.

Also, I think this just showed me I actually would likely thoroughly enjoy watching volleyball. Deadlock between the confident power hitting teams and the peak effort hustling team? That's my shit and what I find the most entertaining and exciting in sports. Flash? Nah. Slow & methodical? Not usually. Intense effort and even matchup? Absolutely.
Did you end up watching the indoor volleyball in the Summer Olympics? I was watching it, I don't know too much about it but it was pretty entertaining. There was one team, I think it might have been Italy? They won a gold medal if I remember rightly. But they had this one really short girl on their team, and every time the other side tried smashing the ball onto the ground, this small girl would dive to the ground and knock the ball over to a teammate, so no matter how hard the other team hit the ball down to the ground, it would be defended. It was quite something.

I initially thought Scotland's fly-half knocked the ball on at the beginning of the clip, but I re-watched it and saw it was a nice short kick by the scrum-half that he was able to recover and set the ruck. Looking over it a few times, it appears to me that Scotland got screwed with the no-try call.

As we were counting hits in the volleyball, I really expected a guy in a panda suit to walk across and wave. 'Course, for all I know, that happened and I missed it.
You guys should check out some men’s volleyball. The hits are much harder and the defense is incredible. A mid level college men’s player would be one of the best women’s player in the world, so might be cool to see the highest level of the sport.

It’s always funny to me when teams celebrate a triple play, I will say there are a few exceptions to this but usually it’s cause of a base running error by the other team not because you did some amazing play.. 😂
Probably should have been a hooking call. The NU player put his stick on top of the BU player and inverted it, hooking his stick and dragging it back and interfering with his ability to play the puck. It’s not religiously called, but in USA hockey that is technically a penalty, and in this case just won the game for NU as it completely disallowed the BU player to play and position on the puck.

My memory is a little rusty, only played 1 year of Rugby before I committed to another sport... but I recall that you can't only make one move with the ball. If that's the case, since his first move didn't get the try, it shouldn't matter if he grounded it after. That is, if that's correct.

The ball doesn't have to be over the line for it be a try, it can just touch the line and still be a try. I think their main issue with it was that they couldn't clearly say it hadn't been knocked on in the scramble

In addition to touching the ground, scoring a try in rugby requires "downward pressure" on the ball. That might be the reason for the call.
