The man, the myth, the legend, Cap'n Hector, for the first time in history had to retreat and re-engage twice, just because the ship is automated and its combat readiness runs out too fast. Normal players when fighting 2 ordos: WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE! Hector when fighting 2 ordos with 1 Nova cruiser: Oh look, free AI cores. If Alex balances the game around this madman's play style, the game will become harder than Dark Souls 3 played with a guitar controller.
@@CapnHector Aurora is too slow and not deadly enough. Doom is actually a lot faster, on top of being able to pass through other ships, and its mine strike system either deals a ton of damage on itself, or enables something else to deal that damage. It doesn't help that not being able to phase through Monitor makes it a lackluster meatshield. A few months back I actually tried to solo just a single ordo with an Aurora, and found it wanting. It took omega weapons for it to defeat a single fleet with 1 Nova and 2 Brilliants, with no bigger ships to speak of. It's one thing to be able to duel any ship in the game, it's another to stop other ships from interfering. The only way forward would be for me to try to do it with just the Doom, without the Monitor. But I don't think I can, not without finding some exploit. Especially since even with the Monitor I had to deploy three times, and without it I might simply run out of CR.
Funnily enough I did get 4 Resonator and 1 Reality Disruptor (and 2 Rift Lance) this game, it's not terribly unlikely. But I'm not gonna lie... I console commanded them into existence anyway because it's a challenge video and I was too lazy to go pick them up. Now 2 Reality Disruptors like in the Prometheus video though, that would be lucky (and would require a new game for me).
Tricky one! I think this one might fit best with a mobile fleet, such as the Odyssey fleet. However, you could probably basically slot this into any capital fleet such as 4 Executors as a hero ship that does its own thing and kills any stragglers as well as especially threatening enemies.
A Brilliant is 25 DP so it would actually be worse for the challenge. But I'm fairly sure 2 Brilliants would work fine for this, mount a Reality Disruptor on one and something damaging on the other.
I don't know about you guys, but having so many tankers indicates to me that this man might be a Pather.
Sifting out that Radiant at 4:40 was beautiful

Unreliable Subsystems do be like that.

I'm sure you got this. 1 Omega Aurora 1 Monitor incoming?

@@scorbiotwhat about odyssey? it has more firepower than the aurora and it is still wicked fast
@@kermitthefrog1176 it has the issue of being 45 DP, or 8 more DP than Hector's fleet.
Look at all those Omega weapons, what a lucky run you must have had ;)

that nova is absolutely terrifying...
Isnt the title wrong? Should be The power of the monitor, no?
Black Magic and D-mods, by your power combined i am Cap'n Hector!
Reality disruptor sure is overpowered
This is mostly just the power of Dorito weapons. But yeah, Nova got a mobile system and really good mounts.
Wait is there a challenge about that? I need to know the rules where to find it?
Given there wasnt challenge restrictions, what kind of 240 dp fleet might you build around the nova?

could you downsize to 2 brilliants, or is that more expensive?
