As a avid Cats fan who absolutely despises Cats 2019 this was wonderful, I love the person who drew the lads in the og designs, the gang was back together
I haven't watched the movie but I listened to a review from someone that took theatre and participated in a play back in their school. The idea of cats was just amazing and I don't even wanna watch the movie out of fear that it'll butcher the original concept for me.

Disney has an effectively infinite supply of money and access to any animator(s) in the world that they ask for. I think it's a fair assumption that if they had wanted a feature-length movie that looked like that, it could have been done.
I without a single doubt, would watch this entire movie multiple times in a row, if it were animated by all these talented people and then some. Amazing stuff by everyone!!!

A Dinosaur's Story and Balto, the film was scrapped and the studio shut down in 1997, eventually becoming DreamWorks Animation. There's a ton of concept art for this film on Google. Could've been something worthwhile.

I really think the Warrior Cats fandom could’ve made a map of the entirety of Cats and it would have been better than both the stage show and the movie

Honestly, a 2D animated or a fully animated 3D version of this would at least make it less painful. It wouldn't save to movie, but it would be way easier to watch.
I love this.. so much. I love how half of the animators were having fun and making fun of CATS, while the other half was taking this actually pretty seriously and have some really beautiful animation.
The mix of the joke animations mocking it and the serious animations is so well done and such a weird juxtaposition that you dont knks what's coming next. My personal favorites were at 0:27 , 1:011:22 and 1:26 all of them were well done and some of the mocking ones made me laugh but I like the serious adaptations better:)

I wish the movie was re-made by the artists at 1:26 amazing emotion and movement there, there were other good ones too and the funny joke ones were entertaining but that bit there is the shining star imo edit senna church is the one I mean, their artwork is so nice im inspired
The original is the theatre production(1981) with a cinematic remake(1998). Both are elegant and beautiful; and are better than this video. But this video is a million times better than the 2019 CGI remake. Nothing will change my mind.

Some of the parts where people actually took it seriously to reanimate it with actual cats or properly making cat humanoids that aren't nightmares were actually really good.
What a cry and shame it is to not have an animated Cats musical. I mean take the climax of Memory for example (@ 1:26). This one clip represents everything that could’ve been done for this story. Like my eyes were getting teary from this clip. But of course we had to get the nightmare fuel of a disaster.

1. Cats should have been animated, and the characters be actual dancing cats without any human faces. 2. I completely lost it at 1:40. Whoever animated that part is a comedy genius. I had to watch it about six times and in slow motion! 😂
I really enjoy the different styles and I think most of them would have been better for the movie adaptation, as they look more like cats/furries and less like naked humans or just have a certain appeal to them ( 0:160:341:011:221:261:352:10 ) Everyone did an amazing job, no matter if they made fun of the original (those were hilarious by the way) or not, I think this is living proof that Cats should have been 2D animated and not CGI. Great work everyone
