People always ask me why I bring so much cash when I go to Arkansas. 30 miles from the nearest small town, an hr from a modest small city. People n the hollar only take cash if your rig fails or you lock your keys in vehicle, check engine light comes on. Some old time convenience stores take cash only. Many things could happen in the middle of nowhere. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Beside I always end up with a new to me wardrobe after shopping at the thrift stores, lol God Bless the Buffalo River.

I showed up for a call of a young lady the ran over a curb and blew out a tire, rim and tie-rod. She was crying that she had no money and was one her way to a new job. I felt really bad for her and took the car to my house and called in a few favours to get a good tire and rim and a brand new tie-rod. My buddy did a quick alignment. And checked over the car. (all free) I brought it back to her and told her to pay it forward. Later that night I towed her car from a DUI checkpoint. Unfortunately that jaded me from doing that again.
There's people like that, got their priorities in the wrong place. My best friend and his family used to always go on two vacations per year despite living check to check. They let their toilet leak for so long that it rotted the floor out in the hallway and that was almost 10 years ago and they still haven't fixed it. The only thing keeping you from falling through is the carpet staples. But they'd have just enough to cover travel and hotel stay and to do one or two cheap things at the place they went to and spent the majority of their time sitting in the hotel. I also have two half brothers who's mom won a decent chunk of change from the casino and their family van was about to die. Instead of using that money as a down payment on a newer van or to buy another used van in cash they chose to go to Disney world and Universal for 10 days and stayed in $400 a night hotels. Shortly after they got back the van died and they had to resort to buying an SUV from a buy here/pay here lot with sky high interest rates. Assuming they don't default on the loan they'll have paid $24k for an SUV that was only valued at $12k at the time of purchase.
When my husband was turning 80 we took him to Gatlinburg for his birthday. I had spoken to a very nice gentleman asking what I needed to do to work out logistics to get him in a hot air balloon ride that could leave from the house we were renting. It couldn't be worked out but the gentleman said he would like to put him on a float in the 4th of July parade. He was by himself on the float and was very emotional... saying to each person that approached him to thank him that he was there for every veteran that couldn't be. He is 92 now and will tell you that the oath he took is still in force. He would never ask for a favor for serving and would have been upset to hear that. What a shame some do.

Here it is 2 years later and just got to this video. But since I was a kid I can remember going on vacation and my folks ALWAYS took extra cash. As an adult I followed their lead. You never know when the credit cards machines or atms will be out of order and cash talks when the system breaks.

Was in Gatlinburg earlier this week on vacation. Paid $5 to park at St. Mary’s on Historic Nature Trail. It’s my go to and cheaper than $20 to park in a lot on the parkway.
Well I learned when we come to Gatlinburg next week or so to park at our hotel and ride a trolly or get a cab. Because your job is hard enough just trying to explain to those folks read the signs. If a parking spot is numbered that mean they are assigned to someone or you pay a parking attendant. Nashville has the same problem. I worked at a bank and paid dearly for a spot each month and at least one day a week someone would have my spot and I would have to pay at another spot for that day.
The guy near the end of the Toyota truck video playing "grab-and-go", he needs to know they make a powder/spray that helps with that. The folks in beginning of your video are lucky you and Kristen are nice .

Wow..unbelievable my father in law served in the Marines during ww2, 2 uncles in the army during Vietnam and a brother in the Navy during desert storm and never ever would they have spoken to someone in that manner. One of those uncles comes to the car show in gatlinburg every year and he parks where is suppose to. Pride in your country also means obeying the law

Im a wrecker driver as well and im pretty understanding when it come to ppls problems but coursing at me will only make it worse. I dont know how jeff stays so cool with ppl that treat him lile crap. The tundra owner is another one justifying the wrong,(even calling for someone to get it off for free?) once you're hooked up,that's it!! Your fault,,you pay! Keep up the good deeds and stay safe.👍👍👍. Another thing,, doesn't your truck need some kind of check up? The boom/wheel liftt seem to be a bit noisy? The pins or slide pads must have been a little worn out? Better have it check b4 it gets worst,(it'll cost more)and may take more time that you may not use the truck, while in service shop,don't you think?(or you still have the ford?do you?)haven't seen it a long time, even at your garage. Yes it’s my leaf springs, so crazy for a brand new truck. The dealership keeps putting me off saying they are backed up until the first of the year. They make all kinda noises lol.

No wonder Burg traffic was so bad, just noticed the date of the video is October. Last time I was at the parking lot for Clingman's Dome on a weekend in October, when I was leaving early afternoon, the line of cars trying to get to the parking lot was over a 1/2 mile long.
The wife and i have been to gatlinburg once a year for 5 yrs and always pay to park and we always look for no parking so if they get towed oh well read the signs

Last time I was at the parking lot for Clingman's Dome on a weekend in October, when I was leaving early afternoon, the line of cars trying to get to the parking lot was over a 1/2 mile long.
