A massive thank you. I was on my second 6ah battery when it quit taking a charge and working with my lawnmower. I tried this fix before buying yet another battery and it worked. 🎉
bought the ryobi wipper snipper second hand cheap with 36v 2.6Ah , battery was flat , not sure how long , would not charge more than one bar. Taking it out and putting back in charger numerous times and pushing the charge indicator button got it to charge to three bars before the red light would flash , noticed it very warm , let it cool , back on charger to full charge , working fine now.
Thanks mate. I have just bought a line trimmer with the 2.6Ah 36v pack. The pack won’t charge, no lights on the front so will have to take the covers off and look for those joints you have pointed out to see if they look to be an issue also. Great work mate. I’m subscribed 👍
Would you say this is the most likely fault on these batteries? I can get one 5 ah for basicly free, but the charger just has a steady red light on it. No charging.
Nice well done, I have a 36 volt Ryobi battery that tests at 36 volt ..the charger indicates a solid green light as well. When u press the button on the battery it only brings up 1 indicator light. Also when put into a device it won't power up. I have it apart but not sure how to try and reset...any ideas?
The reason is that here in Australia they have to state the maximum nominal voltage. For this pack it is 36V. In the states they can use the max overchange voltage rating.
@@Oneupthesleevecustoms yeah okay but could you just put a negative lead on negative and positive lead on positive and charge the battery that way. Or would their be complications

Would have drifted out of balance and your repeat charging would have got them back in sync

Do you have a multimeter on you
Yep I do
Go through and check and see if the cell groups are all at 3.0 to 4.1v
And if they are even
@@Oneupthesleevecustoms okay will do, you thing a faulty cell. Do you explain how to do that check in your video here

Ah that makes sense
That's awesome mate, well done.
I'm pretty happy. Gotta borrow a 36v bit of gear to test it now make sure its all sweet
Wondering if the charge mosfet is issue?
How did you manually charge the battery
Lab power supply found the cells that were low

Or would their be complications
It may become out of balance and go thermal
Okay Im going to see if the soldier works first and then move on but first I need to ground myself and test the what's failing.
Top job!
Any news on this legend?
