  • This is a mini video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com on the use of clones in Inkscape to quickly and easily create flower designs.
    By using clones you can adjust the petals across all instances making it a very fast and editable way to design flowers.
    This video is based on an earlier step-by-step tutorial:

    This "clone" thing is very good!
    It seems more and more to me that imagination is the limit in Inkscape.
    Thank you.

      100% - you can do weird and wonderful things with Inkscape. Whatever excuses people make about 'missing tools' is really just a lack of thinking outside the box and trying a different approach to the Illustrator youtube video they just watched.

    When you rotated the original clone, how did you get the spacing even between the petals? I assume you were using some key stroke I couldn't see. 🙂

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  5 месяцев назад +2

      Sorry... I forgot to mention it as I do it instinctively - hold shift while rotating and it will move in 15° increments.

    How do you move the flowers without messing up the gradient?

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  5 месяцев назад

      In the top menu on the right side are 4 buttons controlling scaling of strokes, scaling of corners, movement of gradients, and movement of patterns. Make sure the 2nd from the right [Move gradients with object] is turn on.

    Great video. Can u do a rose?

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  11 месяцев назад

      Yes. I can but I would probably choose a different approach as the petals of the rose are arranged differently. Let me have a think about it. :)

    You could do with a clone+transform instead of duplicate+transform. Nice video.

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks!
      I thought that's what I did... and then I duplicate the clones. :)

      @@2dgameartguru Oh it looked like you were rotating each one manually. There's a new Duplicate and Transform action which does both in one step.
