It's not that different really. The naming is different, some functions are working in different ways, and the UI is very different... ;) but you can do a lot of what CorelDraw can do in Inkscape. I suggest starting with simple designs to get a feel for it... and add complexity as you go. Do something that is fun and interesting to you - not some copy of some tutorial. Motivation and fun go hand in hand. There are a lot of basic Inkscape videos on my channel and a lot more tutorials on my blog: 2dgameartguru.com/basics
