Save your breath. Quarterback is the key. Another show broke it down perfectly. The remaining playoff teams are Mahomes, Jackson, Stroud, and Allen. If your QB can't compete with them or you don't have a super elite turnover machine defense, then you have no shot. No coach in modern football can overcome that handicap based on today's rules.

Steelers fan for over 40 years. Tomlin is a great coach. He's 39-31 without Big Ben lifetime, including 2 straight winning seasons and a playoff berth since Ben retired. This after all of the "smart" Steelers fans predicted he would be "exposed" after Ben retired. Uh no, that's Bellichik without Brady (who has now had 7 of his 9 seasons without Brady be LOSING ones - remember the Cleveland yrs boys).
Pittsburgh's problem is they HAVE NO FRANCHISE level QB on the roster currently. They can never draft high because Tomlin ALWAYS wins (unlike Cowher who had 3 losing seasons in a 6 yr span). And the Rooney's have bever been big spenders in free agency generally. Plus Tomlin has to deal with a GM. He can't just do whatever he wants.
And anyone who thinks Rudolph is the long term answer....you will be the one being exposed over time- for being dumb enough to believe that in the first place.
The Steelers have to get a QB, but the idea that Tomlin is the problem is completely asinine. The fact that he led them to 10 wins and a playoff berth with this roster is a small miracle.

    • @chucklourimore8170
      @chucklourimore8170 11 месяцев назад

So according to you Tomlin has no say in anything. He just shows up and coaches. Good grief. He's the one who decides who is on the roster and has a ton of input on who gets drafted and signed via free agency. If you believe otherwise there's no use talking to you.

Tomlin isn't going anywhere. The Steelers have lost their "Identity" though. They have been lost since the Whisenhut & Arian eras. After them with Haley & Fitcher which in reality was Roethlisberger calling the plays from the line. Last with Canada, that was a joke. I like the old days when we had an identity of pounding it with the BUS and Ben only throwing 20 times a game and having a "Blitzbergh" Defense. These past few years have been a wondering lost. Mr. Rooney needs to decide what identity he wants his team to have and then let the Managers & Coaches deliver.

And got to actually throwing the ball down field. Just build on that. Keep using Harris, and Warren, both on the field together, and or rotation, that will tire a D.

Watt does not want to play for another Coach because he wants to finish his career rushing the passer 100 % of the time as a linebacker.

You realize with Kenny one read Pickett Steelers were outgained in yards by opposing team every game? You do realize Kenny one read Pickett throws for about 150 yards per game and 1 touchdown max per game? It was the defense that won those games and playing inferior teams!!! Kenny only sees his first read and does not get the ball to open receivers!! Mason Rudolph does!! Tomlin and Steelers management somehow want Kenny one read Pickett!! That is not solid!! That is absolute garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIG BEN carried Tomlin all these years.
Big Ben had 9,300 Passing YDS and 62 TD from 2017-2018 with Leveon, AB, Martavis!
In 2017, Steelers were 13-3 and were top 3 in offense and one of the top defenses during the year BUT was not prepared and lost in the playoffs to effin Blake BORTLES!
He also lost in the playoffs to Tim Tebow!
Good coach but NOT a great one.

Snoop doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Tomlin helps pick the players and he coaches them. Tomlin picks the staff too. Some of the other guys help him but Tomlin has the biggest say. I like Tomlin and he has some great coaching qualities that love but he also hasn’t gotten the job done in a long time.

Tell em Snoop. I'm a Cincinnatian. I grew up a Steel Curtain fan in the 70's...
The hometown Bengals came together and I admittedly jumped on the bandwagon and I've been on it ever since.
All I can say is Pitt has had average or below QB's for about the last 7or 8 years (including Big Ben's final washed up years). It'll be easier finding a new Ben than a Mike Tomlin.
    Trust me!
