    Lee really touches on something important when he mentions that maybe Brody never had those bouts that he wasn't depressed, every person has a breaking point. Sometimes in the past i've felt that Joey belittles depression when he says oh just go out for a walk and talk to your friends, but it's a different thing when you go to bed and the last thing you think about is something extremely negative and depressive, and the same thing happens when you wake up. Ari actually talked about this on the church a long time a go and he said it really well too, after a while you don't even really feel that sad or depressed, you just feel tired and want it to stop, that's when people either get help or take the other way out. That being said i'm 28 and have had depression for around 12 years and have never taken any meds for it because of that potential last chemical push to suicide.
    Just take some LSD and smoke dope momos, it's gonna be aight.

      Why say something so thoughtful and then be dismissive at the end? Coping with mental health issues using substances isn't a good idea. Don't be an asshole. I had a friend almost drink himself to death because of depression, should he have just smoked some pot as well, instead of getting professional help?

      Great comment. I was feeling a wave of sadness for a couple of weeks until a friend offered LSD to me. Since then I have handled my issues and feeling very optimistic about life. The longest wave of sadness I’ve had was for a couple of months 2-3 years ago. Keeping myself engaged/Getting into better shape/Focusing on what I’m passionate about got me out of that slump.

    • @wheelndeel5472
      @wheelndeel5472 5 лет назад

      @@jamesgandfini7145 I can concur with the acid part, i started taking lsd maybe half year ago and it really is a great reset button for those long slumps, it also gives you new perspective on your problems. Not everyone should take it or any drugs for that matter but man, after 12 hours of nothing but smiling till my cheeks were sore i understood why uncle Joey took so much of that shit back in the day.

    Hola Joey! When Brody was on your podcast last, you not only shared your own experiences with him about the long walks you take to stave off depression but you gave him lots of advice including contacting friends and explaining how important it was to reconnect.with friends. He showed a genuine interest in what you had to say at the time. Whatever he was thinking in those last 10 minutes would of been in a place too dark and deep for anyone to reach down and pull him out of. If it wasn’t for your podcast many of us wouldn’t even know who Brody was.
    His memory will live forever in your podcast. Much love cocksucka.

    Switching medications can mess with your head to the point you can take your life. Had a friend with depression got prescribed SSRI's and was great. She got switched to a different one and had a 30 day pack. When she ran out, it was $150 for a refill. She had 3 kids so there was no way to afford it. I gave her $50 and she left. 3 days later, a friend told me she killed herself by cutting her own throat in a SWAT standoff. She spent the money on food for her children instead and without her pills, she couldn't cope. Part of the issue are the tryant pill companies making profit off of people who have nothing and the other is keeping in touch with friends. I really wish she would've called someone or i should've reached out again now she left 3 young children without a mom. Stay black, stoned and proud cocksuckas i love you guys

      My heart goes out to you bro. Your friend sounds like she was an amazing person, her taking her own life doesn't really change that. Her doctor should have educated her on vitamins and supplements to take after the meds were over, and put her on a weaning off plan. The doctor's probably just as responsible for killing her as she was. But in any case I'm sorry for your loss dude.

    I give Redban shit for being who he is, but there is no doubt that Redban was a great friend to Brody. Joey was the other big name in Brody's life who always had him around. Many other podcasts had Brody on, but rarely his "big friends" outside of Joey and Redban in recent years. You have to pour one out for Brody...but also raise one for the friends who stick with you through the tough times and not just say nice stuff about you on Twitter after you die. Stay Black.

      Hang in there. Buddha said all life is suffering, so suffer joyously. Not convinced he had it all figured out, eating disorder and all, but you get the sentiment :)

    As men it’s in our DNA to put on a brave face and act like nothing bothers us, but we need to start opening up more when shits not going right. I’ve been through some dark times and I regret not talking to friends and family more. The church feels like a community and we are all brothers in this shit together

    My Grandmother and I have had some deep conversations about her death. Because I've had friends die suddenly and I do have regrets I can't fix. I know grandma's not afraid she's ready to go. I cried with her a little bit and told her I'll miss her but I know she'll watch over my family and I. Not an easy conversation to have but I think it helped her too. She doesn't have long. Wishing you would have said or done something differently after someone dies is a mind fuck. Have a drink or a smoke for your friend, pray he's at peace now.
