Just finished off my cymbal set today and part of that set was those sweet K Custom Dark Hi-Hats, Those things are super crisp when you shut them but have an awesome sound when you let them open up! Very hard to find Hi-Hats though ( At least in my area and surrounding areas) :P Along with the Session hats :(
So I'm going for all Meinl cymbals right now, but after watching this video, I have to say, Zildjian has definitely jumped ahead of Sabian and Meinl on my cymbal list!
Don't understand why people are saying hes "not skilled enough" to have an endorsement with zildjian. He's playing for the song, not showing off his skills
There's no way it was filmed off the camera mic, not a chance. I would say that it was recorded through the mics and just put to the video with no mixing done to even out the sound.
i thought his work on What Separates Me From You was very good at times. He moved around the kit alot especially in the fills in All Signs Point to Lauderdale, and Sticks and Bricks. I really dont understand why people are giving him crap either, but i think his stuff on What Separates was pretty good as well.
Drummers that are endorsed, get free stuff, it all amounts to amount of crowd you bring in. I was SPONSORED by a company called Shine Custom Drums, I did not get free stuff, but I got a snazzy discount, because I didn't bring in much crowd, since my band is local so far. Once I reel in a BIG crowd and I mean BIG, and that becomes accustom, Then I get free stuff. That's what Zildjian and SJC do to Alex.
wrong, endorsed musicians get free products I.E a drumstick endorsement from Vater gets you all the drumsticks you need for a tour, or a 2000$ plan from Evans where you get $2000 worth of drumheads for a year. TRX does a thing called Rising stars, where if you are somewhat known on youtube or a band, you can get discounted cymbals, thats what you might be thinking of
Because that's not how it's tracked lol. Using a china would skew the mood of the song. It's an upbeat, fun song, and the china doesn't have the brighter, cleaner sound that the other cymbals do

I love his style, he gets technical when needed but doesn't overdo it like some drummers in this genre do.

You've got to remember that they had to mute out everything in order for you just to hear the drum set. The mute makes it sound odd.

actually DW8000's the 9000 doesn't come in longboards.
