My 8 in. K splash from the late 80's sounds exactly the same. Love how they keep things consistent and not fix what it isn't broken. A series sound similar if you want to save money and still get zildjian quality. Probably going to buy the 10" a splash to mate with my k. thanks for helping me decide.
I'm still waiting for Zildjian to put out a really nasty dirty splash in a similar vein as the Sabian 7" & 10" HHX Evolution. Peter Erskine talks about the Flash splashes as being "dangerous" and that design is in the right direction but still not "dangerous" enough for me. I would just love to have a 6" Zildjian that doesn't sound like a bell...I have both the A and A Custom versions and while they certainly have their place, they don't give me that short, percussive, cutting trash sound that I'd like. Maybe when I grow up and get famous I can sit down with Paul Francis and get a design made. Crap, I'm almost 66...don't think I'm ever gonna grow up. ;)
Great video. I’m a weekend warrior and have the 8” and 10” A splashes. They sound so nice together, like they were made out of the same casting on the same day - I got really lucky with them. There’s just something about the full sound of an A that works with everything. The only other splashes I’ve ever used that I felt the same about were the ZXT flash splashes, which are a little darker and louder, but don’t last quite as long and are hard to find now.
The 8" A splash has the classic ZILDJIAN splash sound and sounds the best to me.
Finally someone who really compares them!
The A customs are easily my favourite splashes.
That makes two of us
Amen, I own both the 6 and 8 A Custom splashes and the quick bright decay has been warming my heart for over 20 years now.
Both 8 and 10 A Zildjians sound very nice, and the AC 8 is also great.
Yet another representation as to why Zildjian's are the best!! Quality and sound!
Obviously never heard a paiste cymbal
I've own a 10" k cust.dark for a very long time that I just love.My next one will be an 8" A flash splash,that's for sure.That rag time sound.!!!
I only like the 6" and 8" A Custom. Nice test.
really helpful hearing the same cymbal in two sizes , nice job.
Had a 10’ K Splash. Sold it and picked up the 10’ FLAsh Splash.
good idea and presentation!

Check out the A Custom 10" EFX and the Sabian AAX Air Splash. They will give you the "dirt" your looking for.
look out for dream contact, blss or engergy splashes! especially the energy and contact are just perfect ruclips.net/video/4StO5Iv7zDw/видео.html
Perfect my man.
Great video. Thanks
It's between the A and A custom 10" for me nice wash and tone
the 8" a custom almost sounds like a bell lol
yeah :D
the larger the bell the more a cymbal sounds like a bell
I think the 6" sounds much more bell-like. I mean that cymbal is literally almost all bell lol
Yeah I have 2 8” a custom splashes and now I use them in stacks because I couldn’t stand them after I got a 10”
Such a cute little baby cymbal 😆
It's actually like that to have that sound effect, it's an effect cymbal.
thank you

I love my wuhan splashes...6 8 and 10...60 for all 3
Neighbors be like, doesn’t he have anything else better to do?😂
Why didn't zildjian do 6inch k splashes!!!!! Damnit
regular A's are better in my opinion.
I'm not a fan of splash cymbals larger than 8". Just not appealing to me.
I like 8 10 and 12
