He doesn’t have the only one my friend. Ronald Davis, owner of BSN trucking Glade Hill Va bought a brand new Gold Nugget numbered truck 1978 EXTENDED HOOD W/V-8 cat from Truck Enterprises (KW dealer) in Roanoke Va in 1978 from salesman Ed Quin.

Every industry is going through this. It’s all consolidation of power and wealth with political corruption sprinkled in. This will continuously get worse and worse until a complete collapse and civil war. You can try and start to run a small fleet and make something for yourself but the laws are so screwed up and lawyers so hard on truckers that you will lose it. I run my own authority and business separate from my personal taxes and banking. I pay myself what I’m worth. If someone decides to crash into my truck and sue me for their health bills they can have the truck. I’ve made enough money I can start something else with less risk. It’s not like it used to be.
Thats awsome. I drove one for a while back in the 80s . Cool trucks. My brother in law owned it and bought new and had a fleet of kws all painted that way. I bought the last one which was a 97 w9L and wish idve never sold it.

Ronald Davis, owner of BSN trucking Glade Hill Va bought a 1978 Extended hood Gold Nugget w/V-8 Cat 13spd with torsion bar suspension 246” wheelbase Brand new from Truck Enterprises Roanoke Va. It was a numbered Gold Nugget extended hood in 1978. You can call him and he’ll provide photos when it was new. They built the Gold Nugget from ‘’77 to ‘80 in limited runs. That’s a Fact
I owned a 1980 W900 with extended hood and 60" walk in sleeper. It had a KTA 525 Cummins and was emerald green. It's nick name was "The Frog".
I bet that was a sweet ride.

Last month i saw one of those sold in an auction in livistong lousiana in henderson auction for 6,000.00 dlls. Cat 3406 a 13 speeds with. A swap mack camel back axle 44 and a ramsey winch 70000lbs. Kw 900 a long hood 1980 looks good the truck black color

My 76 w900a came as a 245 and I've always thought about shortening it to 225 because it would get around better for what i'm using it for but I just bought a shorter 81 w900a instead because I like keeping them original.
@@marksmopar609 Those W900A models didn't turn as tight as newer trucks, even the 245 inch wheel base ones needed 40 acres to turn around!

That engine has the deeper timing cone like the later 425 ATA'S Had. My 400b had the shallow cone like the early model "b"s had could that be a air to air converted to water cooled?

For a truck that is supposed to be a one of one truck it doesn't have the original motor . I think it was stretched afterwards.. thats why its a work truck. Its not what he claims it to be

Making this truck was not a mistake, most were regular size hoods and some were extended. It was the king of it's time because in most trucks were still cabovers and K W always had more options and luxuries than others
The gold nugget series was supposed to be a regular hood. This one slipped through the cracks and was the only extended hood golden nugget series Kenworth. Pay attention to the video
