Just got this for $120. Def worth it. The Logitech hater snobs are hilarious. Most keyboard users don't swap their keys or keycaps. Logitech has a 13B market cap for a reason folks.
Even if you're not an enthusiast and want an off the shelf plug and play keyboard, hot swappable switches are really useful. If one of your key dies on a hot swap, you can swap it yourself by buying a single switch, or you can replace it with a key you never use, such as lock or ins. It'll cost you nothing and you're done in 5 minutes. With soldered switches, even if you want to do it yourself, you'll have to buy a soldering iron, some solder and something to remove the old solder. And if you don't want to solder, your $200+ keyboard is good for the landfil. Hotswappable switches are just plain better for everyone.
let's be real here, you would've bought a new one before a switch would die on its own. Not everyone is into the rabbit hole of modding keyboards, spending hundreds of dollars just to improve acoustics and typing feel... It's the most ridiculous hobby ever, it's stupid. The only thing I agree with is its stupid to buy this keyboard, buy a wooting or apex for absolute performance. This keyboard has nothing new to offer for 300+ dollars.
Yep, hot swappable is really good. I use my gear until I have a valid reason to not use it anymore, usually that reason is because it's broken it can't be fixed with super glue and duct tape. I have a keyboard over a decade old that still works, but the R key is bad. It's a shame I can't just hotswap it because I love that keyboard. But that influenced me to seek only hot-swappable keyboards from now on, since I don't just go out and buy the newest keyboard every 5 hours.
@@somethingtrulyhorrifying id like just to have hotswap to try other switches than gx blue, or just to have less noisy keyboard since now im living with my gf and she complains about the noise while im gaming sometimes.

$200 for a standard gaming keyboard with no hall effect + rapid trigger just aint worth it anymore eith options from Wooting and Steelseries. Those boards are cheaper and offer a tangible advantage in-game. No matter how premium it feels, you're gonna be able to build one at that price point that feels equivalent or better as too. Also for $200 those stabs sound atrocious. We've passed the point of it being acceptable for expensive gaming keyboards to be shipped with bad stabilizers.
Once you tried to use a hotswappable keyboard, there's no turning back to a non-swappable one. I own and use a Gpro X keyboard and love using it with Gateron Milky Yellow switches with tape and foam mod. Every press, it feels and sounds satisfying plus the convenience of replacing switches once they've gone bad. I really think Logitech went backwards on this one, reverting back to soldered switch keyboards even though hotswappable is the norm for any keyboard with an asking price of $200.
Eh, when you found your favourite switch for a gaming keyboard, there's really no reason to switch. For example, pick your flavour: hall of effect switches, analogue or optical switches that comes with Wooting, SS Apex Pro, Razer.
@@paul2609 "when you found your favourite switch". There's a few dozens different switches. If you want to find your favorite, a hot swap is way better. I really don't understand what Logitech was thinking with that one. I thought they'd go the way they went with the old G Pro. The G Pro TKL had soldered switched and the G Pro X had hot swap, but this is the G Pro X, there's litteraly no excuse.

I just got the linear (red switch) version of this keyboard. My first impression is disappointing. While I prefer linear feel (mainly for programming, as I don't really play keyboard-based games), the keys on this keyboard have noticeable friction and grind as they move up and down the shaft. They are not "buttery smooth". More like cream cheese with fine sand mixed in. For the price, not pleasant. Display models I have tried in stores for other linear/red switches show that a smoother, creamier feel is possible, although for some reason I havent been able to find a wireless TKL layout. My previous keyboard was the tactile/brown G915, which is almost the same keyboard, just with a slimmer height. Compared to that, I am not sure this is a substantial improvement. It definitely *sounds* better, and I think I prefer red switches in general over browns, but for the price of this thing, I would have expected a smoother, creamier action.
Kinda itching to test this personally since it seems nice even for plug and play. Since i have the old G PRO TKL, i'm even wondering if this is even worth it specially if i'm pairing it with a superlight and G305 for normal use
I recently got this keyboard, I bought it online and it was standard price at 370$ aud. I've only had it for about a week and it may change but I certainly feels ripped off. The main thing killing it for me is the keys feel awful to press, as if a rusty spring is pushing back. I honestly would not recommend this keyboard, unless you like heavy feeling keys.
5:10 I watched several other reviews on the brown’s and you’re the only one that mentioned the heaviness of these switches. I got one of these day before yesterday and when comparing to the blue clicky’s on my wired Logitech pro tkl even though the brown’s sounded way more premium with the whole board being thocky and all. I couldn’t get over how much heavier they felt to type on. So i put a coffee scale under it and tared out, and sure enough while the browns in the lightspeed were taking ~60g of pressure to actuate, the blue’s in the wired model were only taking ~50g. I’m new to mechanical keyboards admittedly so i really don’t know yet exactly what my preferences will wind up being, but since this kb is so expensive, i returned it and paid the extra $14 for the blue’s. My only concern now is I’m hoping the blue’s in the lightspeed model have the lighter actuation like they did in the previous model or idk what I’m going to do so please wish me luck because unlike with they 915 tkl, I’ve found zero review videos on the blue’s model or switch comparison for this keyboard here on yt.
Does this keyboard work wired only , tested? I saw other videos of people complaining that this keyboard cannot work in wired mode only if turned off from the button.
Logitech thinks that the keyboard space hasnt changed in the last 5-8+ years... its going to cost them. The only Logi keyboards i would consider nowadays would be their low profile line and thats simply because the competitive space in that profile and battery segment is still relatively small.
Razer's low profile offerings are kinda an updated version of the G915s. I'd recommend checking the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro out if you want an updated low profile mechanical keyboard. Unless Logitech updates their G915s with USB-C, they're just going to fall behind.
doesn't sound good, no hotswap, no optical/magnetic switches for a gaming keyboard, no outstanding features or format or anything really... this lovely bundle of disappointment can be all yours for an absolutely ludicrous price :D the only "pro" i can think of is the logitech app not being as atrocious as something like razer bloatware, at least in my experience with sone of their mice, it gets the job done just fine with minimal bs
Can you connect this keyboard to a PS4? Seems like it should be possible since it has Lightspeed - however I am having problems getting that to happen.
I’ve had the G915 TKL for a while now. How does this compare to it? I’ve been disappointed with the G915 tkl keys quality and the lack of USB C. My esc key broke and the keys just look and feel cheap. Would you say these keys are much higher quality compared to the g915?

Garbage keyboard. Have fun having a bunch of Logitech apps spying on your every move on your computer. And the RGB lighting bleeds to behind the keys, so you'll see the light reflection in your monitor. And if you want an identical keyboard for your office, home, car, etc then you'll be spending a thousand $ just on keyboards, way too expensive for this ultra low quality keyboard
