I don’t see Kings Island getting any Mack coaster for their next ride, I think they got a package deal with Vekoma, snoopys soap box racers was part 1, and they will get a Vekoma launch or tilt next.
Get rid of Gemini? That is blaspheme! it is very Iconic and one of the few older roller coaster that I can fit on. (Not because of weight it because of my pelvis bone doesn't like the tight seats of some of the newer ones and thanks to them putting in a divider seat I can't fight on blue streak anymore.) So, that will never leave. 😛
Now that they are Six Flags, the original Cedar Fair will not be receiving much love. They want to improve the original Six Flag parks, especially the year round parks. Cedar Fair parks will be left behind. That's why the shareholders didn't want the merger. Don't forget, at least 5 parks will be closed or sold in the next 6 years. Cedar Point will not receiving anything for a very long time because of TT2. They have postponed plans for a future project.
A majority of the important decision makers are Cedar Fair’s executives. The people who think this is going to drastically impact new additions need to slow down imo. There are a lot of SF parks that have no reason to expect large additions. St. Louis, Great Escape, Discovery Kingdom, Over Georgia, Darien Lake, La Ronde, even six flags mexico has no reason to expand they have little competition and make money regardless of if they add anything. There are probably five SF parks that may see large scale investment. Probably the same number of CF parks. As far as parks getting sold off i dont think more than 2 or 3 get sold off. They are unlikely to get the money they would want out of the land considering how much demolition would have to take place to have the area function as anything else. Also the “smaller” Cedar Fair parks are a lot of the most consistently profitable. They arent going to sell off profitable parks for funds to improve unprofitable parks. Who knows i may eat my words but i would bet i good amount of money on Kings Island, Carrowinds or Knotts getting a large scale addition in the next 3 years. Time shall tell.
