    What you'll need:
    Beeswax:
    Start with beeswax. If you're a beekeeper or know one, use yellow beeswax. With raw yellow beeswax, you won't obtain the same color when adding wax dye, but the honey smell and wax properties are more valuable, in my opinion. When buying white beeswax from the shop, finding the right one may take some trial and error-I tried about 5 types before finding the right ones (I will leave my affiliate links to the waxes I use below). White beeswax is often mixed with cheaper alternatives like paraffin and labeled as 100% organic beeswax, but the wax properties are not the same. Beeswax should be sticky and flexible to sculpt with. I use beeswax from two brands. One is too sticky to sculpt alone but is good for beginners, and the other is less flexible. Mixing them gives me the right consistency. You'll find your ideal consistency only by trying and failing. When looking for the right wax, make sure you buy in small quantities first.
    Tools:
    You can use parchment paper or a baking silicone mat for the petals. Use a spoon and a heat-resistant pot to melt the wax.
    I use a coffee mug warmer (link below), but it can be done in a wax heater or double boiler.
    Wax dye and fragrance oils are optional.
    Use hand cream to prevent the wax from sticking to your hands.
    Wooden egg - I found it in a charity shop, use anything similar shaped or a hard boiled egg to start with.
    Cotton candle wick.
    Happy Crafting!

      Paraffin is not suitable for this technique. Next time try with beeswax. I don’t think stearin will help you much, try Korean microcrystalline. You can find it on AliExpress and it helps improving beeswax flexibility.

    Hi, i love your candle but i have a question. Do you apply melted wax to every petal when attaching them to the middle ball?

    • @ApiuraCrafting
      @ApiuraCrafting  3 месяца назад +1

      Not necessarily, if the wax is still warm and sticky I may just attach the next petal. It all depends on how you feel. Will it stick if you don’t dip? If yes, then just attach it. There are not rules when creating ☺️

    it is possible to use palm wax or soy wax, as I have seen they use paraffin. thanks!!

    • @ApiuraCrafting
      @ApiuraCrafting  7 месяцев назад

      From what I've seen, palm wax crystallizes, so you probably won't be able to use it. However, I've never used it myself, so you can give it a try an let us know ☺️. Make a thin petal and see if it's flexible or if it breaks. I've seen some videos where paraffin is used, and that's how I tried making my first flower. It's difficult because paraffin breaks easily, and even if you manage to make the flower, you should be very gentle when touching it. It's challenging to achieve a realistic result using wax other than beeswax. There's probably an additive that they use to give flexibility to other waxes, but I've researched a lot and haven't found what it is.

      Thank you, Sara! In general I use mix of liquid and dry candle dye to obtain the desired colour. Recently I made a red candle and I used left over coloured wax from that project.

    Can you tell me how to keep the wax flexible to shape like video? I have try but the petal crack before I can shape them

    • @Fleurcandle
      @Fleurcandle 7 месяцев назад +1

      Can you give me some note? Like temperature or anything…

    • @ApiuraCrafting
      @ApiuraCrafting  7 месяцев назад +21

      The secret is the wax. If you are in the UK, you can try the wax from the links in the description.
      It must be 100% natural Beeswax. If you have a farm near you, try with the raw yellow beeswax so you will understand what to expect from the commercial white. In the commercial waxes they add some cheaper alternatives like paraffin and unfortunately it breaks. I tried more then 5 brands until I found the right ones.
      If you managed to make the thin petals, I assume the wax was on right temperature (I am not measuring it myself). As well is easier to shape them when the wax is still warm. If the room is cold you will have less working time.
      I hope this helps.
      Most of the things will come with practice, so don’t give up😊

    hi to you
    I saw the video you made for making petals for flowers and I would appreciate it if you could help me understand why the leaves I make break all the time and don't come out flexible like yours
    Thank you very much

    • @ApiuraCrafting
      @ApiuraCrafting  Месяц назад

      Hi Einat,
      It’s because the wax you are using is not flexible. I tried many brands and I found one that works for me. Depending on your region you may have to try few until you find the one that has the properties.
      Recently I learned about Korean Microcrystalline wax that can be added to the wax to make it more pliable. You can find it on AliExpress, I personally didn’t try it.
      I hope this helps.

      @kristinampella2596 if your wax has a strong beeswax smell than you won’t obtain a clean fragrance. You can always make a test one, there is no right or wrong, just try everything you have in your mind and you may come out with something unique 😊

      Try a diferent brand. I advise you to buy small quantities from few suppliers and try. I tried about 5 beeswax until I found the right one. The good wax should be a bit sticky before melting.
