    I wanted to try making these aesthetic bubble candles at home. I bought multiple molds, but I think the DIY bubble candle turned out the best! I read online that container wax is too soft for pillar candles but I still wanted to try it out. I ended up buying paraffin wax and used 2 parts paraffin and 1 part container wax. UPDATE: I Purchased some new molds for another candle making video. Stay tuned!

    You shouldn't have to trim the metal part at the end of the wick. There is a reason it is there. If you're gonna use these candles only for decoration then you don't need it, but if you're gonna burn them you need that metal part, it's not safe not to have it. You should add the anotation or something so people don't make a mistake maybe...?
    Nice candles btw. Great job!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  3 года назад +7

      The metal sticker base is for container candles to place inside a jar. I don't usually see that metal base on pillar candles, but if it's required then you can definitely keep it on :) Thanks for watching! 💗

    Heyy dear! Im literally so glad ro find this video rn as like many other viewers i also had no idea that the candle wax is itself so soft so the rebuild candles would be breakable. Thanks for saving me from an unwanted disaster ❤. I wanted to ask that if im making candle in any other container bcz i want to be creative and create cooler shapes so how would i know the quantity of wax to be diluted along with the old candles. Please reply. It would be of great help. 👍🏻
    P.S I dont have any sort of weighing machine 😞

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  Год назад

      Hi! Thank you so much for watching ❤ Without any sort of weighing machine? hmm that sounds like a challenge. The best advice I can give you is to overestimate the amount of wax needed because you can remelt the leftover wax. Melt around 2 thirds of paraffin wax like I did and melt a third of any soft container wax you have. Fill your molds and if you have extra wax, save that for another project! Hope that helps!

      Hi Monica! Thank you so much for watching my video 💗 Sorry for the confusion, I'll try to explain :) I used 2 parts pillar wax (around 66%) and 1 part soy (around 33%). I made one of each candle so I needed around 433g of total wax. 33% of soy wax would be around 143g and the rest would be pillar wax (around 290g). Hope this helps! I think 80/20 would work as well!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi! to be honest, I haven't made candles without a thermometer so I'm not sure. If you're just melting candles at home like I did in this video, I think as long as the wax looks translucent you can try and pour it into your molds and demold the next day. If it doesn't work, just remelt it and try again? I recommend a thermometer if you're adding fragrances and dye chips to ensure the wax reaches a high enough temperature. Hope that helps!

    • @joolieshome

      Hi! thank you so much for watching :) Container wax is soft and pillar wax is harder so it helps keep the shape of the mold. hmmm, i cant remember how long it took, but the pillar wax definitely took more time to melt than the container wax. Maybe closer to 10 min? If you cut the wax into smaller pieces they will melt quicker! Hope that helps 💗

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  3 года назад

      Hei! I've only tried parafin wax and it's worked pretty well so far. If you use soy wax, just make sure you look for pillar soy wax :) I think people prefer soy wax because it's a natural product. I'd love to try it, but I didn't see it at my local Michaels. I'l have to find some online. Good luck with your candles! 💗

      Hi! Yes, you can use only soy wax to make these candles, as long as it's for making pillar candles. It should say what the pour temperature is on the packaging. Here are a couple options I found online and their pour temperatures:
      Pillar Soy Wax (BW-921) Pour at 170°F (76.7°C)
      EcoSoya PB Pillar Soy Wax Pour at 160°F (71.1°C)
      Hope this helps you get started! :)
