I wanted to try making these aesthetic bubble candles at home. I bought multiple molds, but I think the DIY bubble candle turned out the best! I read online that container wax is too soft for pillar candles but I still wanted to try it out. I ended up buying paraffin wax and used 2 parts paraffin and 1 part container wax. UPDATE: I Purchased some new molds for another candle making video. Stay tuned!

yay! so glad you found my video :) I didn't realize my container wax was that soft either, but I tried anyways. Thrifting candles is a good idea, maybe i'll try that too! Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment 💗

You shouldn't have to trim the metal part at the end of the wick. There is a reason it is there. If you're gonna use these candles only for decoration then you don't need it, but if you're gonna burn them you need that metal part, it's not safe not to have it. You should add the anotation or something so people don't make a mistake maybe...?
Nice candles btw. Great job!
The metal sticker base is for container candles to place inside a jar. I don't usually see that metal base on pillar candles, but if it's required then you can definitely keep it on :) Thanks for watching! 💗
@@joolieshome the metal bit prevents the string to float when the candle gets hot and liquid again, it's always better yo have it, container or not 😊

Do you want to buy cinnamon oil?
for candle fragrance?
@@joolieshome yes
I dont need any now, but I'll keep you in mind for the future 😊 do you have an etsy shop?
Heyy dear! Im literally so glad ro find this video rn as like many other viewers i also had no idea that the candle wax is itself so soft so the rebuild candles would be breakable. Thanks for saving me from an unwanted disaster ❤. I wanted to ask that if im making candle in any other container bcz i want to be creative and create cooler shapes so how would i know the quantity of wax to be diluted along with the old candles. Please reply. It would be of great help. 👍🏻
P.S I dont have any sort of weighing machine 😞
Hi! Thank you so much for watching ❤ Without any sort of weighing machine? hmm that sounds like a challenge. The best advice I can give you is to overestimate the amount of wax needed because you can remelt the leftover wax. Melt around 2 thirds of paraffin wax like I did and melt a third of any soft container wax you have. Fill your molds and if you have extra wax, save that for another project! Hope that helps!
Oh wauw, they look lovely! I've also made some candles last weekend and mine don't look so lovely. They have a frosty shine around. Do you maybe have some advice for me? Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for watching :) hmm, I'm just a beginner at this, but I noticed pouring paraffin wax at a higher temperature decreased the frosting for me. I poured around 80C, I'm not sure what wax you're using but double check the recommended pour temperature. Hope this helps :)
Beautiful ! Thanks 🙏🏻

Hi! thank you so much for watching 🩷 I've only tried a few different types of wax, but they all worked pretty well! As long as you use a pillar wax, I think you should be good :)
Maybe heat the knife you use to cut the paraffin wax next time. It will make it easier. 😊
yes, that's smart! thank you for the tip! :)

muito obrigado 💓 Thank you so much for watching :)
Hi!! What a perfect combination! Could you please tell me the formula so I know how many pillar wax and soy use? I didn’t understand how you calculated the quantities or did you use 80% pillar wax and 20% soy wax? I would appreciate your aswer!!!!
Hi Monica! Thank you so much for watching my video 💗 Sorry for the confusion, I'll try to explain :) I used 2 parts pillar wax (around 66%) and 1 part soy (around 33%). I made one of each candle so I needed around 433g of total wax. 33% of soy wax would be around 143g and the rest would be pillar wax (around 290g). Hope this helps! I think 80/20 would work as well!
@@joolieshome Thank u so much Joolie!! I’m trying my best!!! But my candles are full of bubbles, all around the surface, do u know what can I do or why is this happening? Again, thank u haha!
@@monicaaguirre2897 oh noo!! I did a quick google search cause I'm def not an expert at this, but it says to double check you're pouring at the right temperature based on the directions of the wax and pour slowly. I also read to heat the container but we're using molds so I'm not sure how you'd heat up a silicone mold. I don't want to give you wrong directions :(
Is it necessary to mix pillar and soy wax? Can I just use only pillar wax?
@@Kookie-zc3gt yes of course! You can just use pillar wax :) i originally wanted to repurpose my old candles but they were too soft so I added the pillar wax. The soy wax also gave it a nice buttery color.
This is so helpful, thank u for the great content💖. Btw i made mine too but the finishing is bad, what do i do?
Thank you so much for watching! Sorry for the late response. If the candle has frosting, sometimes it's just the characteristic of the wax youre using, but make sure you're pouring at the right temperature which should be stated on the packaging :)
Great video and they turned out so well.. May I know what's the ideal pouring temperature if using pure soy wax? So that the bubble candle doesn't have crystals and cracks.. Also preheating the mould didn't work for me..
Thanks for watching! I haven't used pure soy wax before so I'm not too sure what the ideal pouring temp is. Did the packaging have directions? That's prob the best place to start or google :) I had some issues with bubbles so I poured my paraffin wax at a higher temp and slower, but it wasn't pure soy wax. Hope they work out!
136 degrees Fahrenheit :)
If we don’t have the heat measurement, how can we know if it’s time to make it mold? Or how many minutes do we stop?
Hi! to be honest, I haven't made candles without a thermometer so I'm not sure. If you're just melting candles at home like I did in this video, I think as long as the wax looks translucent you can try and pour it into your molds and demold the next day. If it doesn't work, just remelt it and try again? I recommend a thermometer if you're adding fragrances and dye chips to ensure the wax reaches a high enough temperature. Hope that helps!
I like it 😊
yaayy thank you for watching and commenting ❤️
I will be your number 1 fanclub , from Thailand 😙
wow all the way from Thailand! That's so exciting. Welcome to my channel :)
Hello. Your candles came out great! What do you sit them on to burn 🔥 them safely?
thankks for watching! You can burn them on an old ceramic plate or anything non flammable, but always keep an eye on it :)
@@joolieshome hellooo what kind of wax do u use people are telling to use soy wax but i’m not sure 😢😢
Hi
First of all, I’m a beginner in making candles whenever i pour the wax in the mold and let it dry, i end up with the candle full of air bubbles and I don’t know how to prevent that from happening
you can try and pour the wax slowly into the mold it’ll help preventing the air bubble
yup, like alice's comment below, you can pour slowly. Also depending on the wax you're using, make sure you're pouring at the right temperature. Hope that helps 💗
May I know the right temperature.
@@rkeerthika484 I think the paraffin wax I used noted to pour around 80°C. There should be a recommended pour temperature on the packaging for the wax you're using :) I'd stick with that just to be safe!
Hi! I don't really understand the difference between container wax & pillar wax😳 I bought a mold and I want to use my old candles to make a pretty new one. Should I buy some soy wax & mix with the other wax from the candles?
Hi! thank you so much for watching :) Container wax is soft and pillar wax is harder so it helps keep the shape of the mold. If your old candles are in containers like jars (container wax) then I'd buy some pillar wax to mix it together so it's harder. Just make sure you buy soy wax that is for pillar candles :)
Good luck!
So nice🤎
Thank you so much for watching! :)
Thank you for video but How do I get the wax material and molds ..
The molds i got from aliexpress, but if you want them quicker you can find them on amazon and the wax I got from michaels :)
wait this was your first time trying? they were so good
it actually was my first time! I made a mistake with the container wax because it was too soft, but they ended up turning out ok with the pillar wax :) Thanks for watching 💗
What were you rubbing the inside of the bubble mould with when preparing? mine just wont come out bubbly always flat!!
oh no! I added a picture here 2:45- does the top look flat like the candle on the left? If so, you can have it rest inside a container like I did so the top of the candle doesn't touch the table.
At 6:46 I'm just wiping off the water after washing the molds then I took some tape to remove any residual wax or dust.
Hope this answers your question :)
If you don’t have wicks use cotton strings.
thank you for the tip!
This is great!! I have a question, how many mL of wax does it take to fill up the bigger bubble candle? Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching! :) hmmm, i didn't get a chance to measure it in mL, but i found a conversion calculator online! I don't know how accurate it is, but it says 137g of wax is equivalent to 152mL. I hope that's right, let me know if it works out💗

Hi may i know how many minutes do u boil the wax for cloud and magic ball candle?
hmmm, i cant remember how long it took, but the pillar wax definitely took more time to melt than the container wax. Maybe closer to 10 min? If you cut the wax into smaller pieces they will melt quicker! Hope that helps 💗

Hei ! Do you think paraffin wax is good for making candles (mold) or soy wax?
Hei! I've only tried parafin wax and it's worked pretty well so far. If you use soy wax, just make sure you look for pillar soy wax :) I think people prefer soy wax because it's a natural product. I'd love to try it, but I didn't see it at my local Michaels. I'l have to find some online. Good luck with your candles! 💗
@@joolieshome thank youuuu❤️
This forms can be use again?
yes! You can reuse the molds :)
Which wax you use for these candles
I just used leftover candles from home and mixed them with paraffin
Is it necessary to add Pilar wax
Hi! You can use any pillar wax to make these candles without the container wax. If you are reusing old candles that are made with container wax, then yes, you will need to add a harder wax like paraffin or else they will be too soft. Hope that helps 🤍
Can I use only soy wax to make a silicone candle mold? At what degree Celsius can I pour it into the mould?😢
Hi! Yes, you can use only soy wax to make these candles, as long as it's for making pillar candles. It should say what the pour temperature is on the packaging. Here are a couple options I found online and their pour temperatures:
Pillar Soy Wax (BW-921) Pour at 170°F (76.7°C)
EcoSoya PB Pillar Soy Wax Pour at 160°F (71.1°C)
Hope this helps you get started! :)
