I said I'd comment when i started this job after commenting on another video you had done. Thanks for an informative video. It's literally hanging in place ready to be bolted back up tomorrow. Had to see if it worked before final fitment. Steering left and right and no joy😢. Got my reader out and tried a calibration.... still no joy.... reset codes 🤦♂️ calibration and viola all sorted😊 suspension seems a bit slow moving but no faults. Car has been off road since November and i think the issues probably rose a long time before. How many brushes did i have left on the original one? None😮just wisps of cotton. Used internals fixed my issue as there was nothing left to bend. Cheers buddy😊
That is superb, I'm so glad you got it sorted mate, it's the whole reason I did the channel well done you! Thanks if you clicked on the 3 dots and hit the thanks with ❤️
Great stuff! My steering angle sensor was replaced around year ago - it cost aproxx 320 euros in local garage. Now I see how much work and time you have to spend on it to replace that I'm glad I didn't do it myself :). Thanks for share.
Very many thanks for posting this excellent video! And also thank you for videoing the difficult, (I am sure) under dash views, the seemingly unrelated steering /suspension connection was very well spotted, but then that is the advantage of your electronic gadget, I do find that most of the electronic faults are due to using German made parts, every such fault I have had on my Range Rover and Land Rover have been traced to these black plastic encapsulated electrical gizmos, now we have your video tutorial to refer to when this fault comes up. Glad you have found the problem; I find it very rewarding when I finally find a broken contact or wire, you know you have found the cause! Chris B.

I think I have exact issue with my Disco 3, like you I serviced compressor which has sorted suspension fault but car goes in limp mode if you drive in a straight line for too long!! In limp mode the compressor goes to 50 deg - restart car and all lights go off and temp of compressor goes back to normal after 5 minutes. So making sure I keep moving the steering wheel prevents limp mode - sounds odd but that's what's happening - I have recalibrated with IID tool but problem still occurs.. Great videos i.m new to range rover I have 2009 sport 2.7. the BMW angle sensor you used to rebuild the original what model bmw . Keep up good work very helpful.
So i have the same problem with my 05 range rover. "Air suspension inactive" on dashboard and no lights and the module. I've already replaced the compressor, height sensors and all fuses. Also has same "can bus error. I'm hoping the steering wheel sensor is the answer to my problem. Thanks for video
well done for eleminating the ABS and Compressor, the steering angle sensor is fairly cheap, but a pain to get too. I hope you can use my video and get your Range going !
Very good video that teaches us how it should be. I have a suspension issue where the front suspension is all the way down. The analysis program reports that it is "can bus fault". Could this be related to the steering angle sensor? Thank you very much
The canbus for suspension seems to be linked with three things, steering angle, abs, and air compressor, so if you can check your abs sensors are okay, and the compressor when it works is okay, it would suggest the steering angle sensor. Have you tried turning wheel to left then right?
@@GrooveOn thank you for your answer. Yes I've turned the steering from one side to the other several times and the error persists. "air suspension inactive" on the dash and "can bus fault" on the diagnostic tool
@@pires53 I had a bit of luck clearing the abs fault, then steering angle via the diagnostic, then I cleared the dash suspension fault with steering wheel. In that order.
@@GrooveOn after replace the front air suspension the canbus error disapear, one thing that I don't understand because my front suspension is not linked to anything. one more thing: I bought the iCarsoft LR V3.0 at Amazon and this tool don't recognize the VIN, also don't read the SAS and the transmission. I cantacted the iCarsoft EU and they kick me off asking me to contact who sell the tool and send me a list of the Land Rovers which this tool read the SAS. On Range Rover only from 2006.
Hi I've finally managed to finish the Steering angle sensor job ( what a bloody pain). I've come to put the under dash panel back , (fitted light and clipped in that round thingy but there is a connector block with pale green clips and I can't remember how it fits in. There is like a hole for a screw or bolt but I don't know where it attaches and I don't want to trap it as I put everything back.
Thanks for your great videos about this SAS problem. I have started the journey of hopefully replicating your success with it! However, I have come up to a STOP POINT!! The 3 screws holding the plastic cover under the steering wheel. Got 1 out. Next one in the very deep hole is not budging. I bought a T15 150mm long to reach it but still no movement. So, near and yet so far :( Any thoughts on other ways to approach that one (without destroying the cover in the process)? Then there is the 3rd screw still stuck in the hole also. Strange thing about this one is there appears to be some thing stuck in there with it - as if someone tried a drill bit and it got stuck. Now I see that @BruceAllentools has commented "No need to remove plastic halves from steering column behind wheel. Just pop off side panel of dash and you can see right at the blind bolts". Perhaps I should try that alternative. Any thoughts?
Success!! at last .... I had to break the third screw hole but it was worth it ... time tomorrow to press on to the next hurdle ...... :) Couldn't have got this far without you quality video. So, thanks heaps for that.

Will fit this week all being well, and will let you know how it goes and if the 3 amigos disappear. One question, will it reset the air suspension led, im hoping it will delete the can bus error and reinflate the rear suspension as the front is still in motorway height setting.
@@George-hs2zm okay good stuff, I have also got a used sensor and yet to do what you are going to as since I did the video it's been working great no errors, so I am waiting until next week after the car goes for a MOT yearly UK check. that could be a great option. I was going to get a used module, but since I did the video and bent the brushes slightly that had worn, so far I have not had the error message come back !
