At first glance you might think this is a video about how much of a victim I am blah blah. It’s actually not that at all. It’s sort of a dark look at what it’s like to be resilient and adapt to something you probably never should have in the first place. All the elements were there when I was younger of how this became a perfect storm situation of survival adaptation for me. Instead of leaving my toxic relationship I worked hard to adapt to keep it going. I kind of adapted the “wrong” skills but adapt I did. It didn’t serve me well at the time. As I grew up I developed a checks and balance system for handling what I naturally like so that it never gets to the point of toxicity it did prior. Mostly it’s there because I adapted. It didn’t break me. This is what the video is about. It’s neither fully good or bad but it just is.
If you missed part one of this video where I explain how I was ghosted by my most recent date and how that didn't affect me the same as the last time watch that first. • My Date Ended With Gho...

I was in a 6 year on and off relationship we lived together twice. He didn’t cheat but still sucked in a lot of ways. We were living together again we were doing fine. One day we were at a bar he said something, I stopped dead in my tracks looked at him and said you’re never going to change, this is never going to work, you have to move out. He moved two days later. A flip just switched and I was done! Now I’ve been with my husband 13 years so happy I finally ended that relationship. I hope you find a great guy but until then it’s good that you have your limits!

You collected all the evidence you needed to finally see the truth and there’s something so wonderful about those moments. I’m really glad you shared that with me and I’m even more happy that it ends with something better fell into place for you. I love that!

It seems rare for someone to keep the same partner through their entire youth. I'm glad you learned a lot from it. I stayed a very shy single girl. I only teamed up twice in my life, and not for very long. Most of my life I've been learning to be ok alone and finding my self-worth. I finally found it by age 40! I'm perfectly comfortable single, but open to finding a partner, but not looking.

I did learn a lot from it. I am happy you mentioned you’re comfortable as you are it’s quite a process in figuring things out. :)
