I loved this! XZPREMIUM definitely a keeper.
Considering how fast the XZ2PREMIUM is, it makes the XZPREMIUM look like any other flagship phone from 2018 speed wise.
Muktitasking I'd say it does great with 4GB only loosing to 3 apps.
The chrome test though I expected it to be a lot faster on the XZPREMIUM given how in the beginning it'd load pages instantly.

Yeah not a fan of any Sony Phones from the last 3 years, but the XZP1 looks WAY better than the XZ2P - they completely lost their uniqueness and went with just an uglier version of everyone else's design.
No one hated the sharp angles of the old Sony, they just hated the bezels, but instead Sony ditched the former and kept the latter.
At this point it seriously seems like they have no clue in what they're doing. They are the Cleveland Browns of the mobile phone world.

I've had my XZ premium for a YEAR now and NO problems!!!!!!!!!!!! It hasn't slowed down one bit. Best phone I've had and if it retains its performance I wouldn't want anything else!

Still the highest resolution display at just over 800-pixels-per-inch not to mention the best most phenomenal placement for a fingerprint scanner I've ever used plus it was technically thinner than the newer ones and still kept its headphone jack!

Sony had such a simple task. Keep the XZP body and make the bezels a little smaller lol. Maybe they'll get it right next time...
XZP is the best Sony phone in terms of design, but from my experience, it feels slower than XZ1 even with the same specs🙄

Thanks for the test. I have the XZ Premium I believe it is still a beast and now it costs half the money of the XZ2 Premium. I see that the display of the XZ2P looks whiter and brighter now because of the WRGB arrangement, but this makes it look less sharp than the XZP which has an RGB arrangement. I think it would be better if they have put a stronger backlight and kept the RGB arrangement again. But still is sharper than any of the Oled phones out there.

XZPremuim display also has higher resolution of above 800 ppi ,XZpremium has better display . I will anytime chose XZpremium. SONY pls be unique in your designs as in earier versions.

Great video, I absolutely love my XZP. I am waiting for Sony to figure out what they should do with their next Premium phone. Like getting the FP little higher and move cameras to the side and maybe add another telephoto lens, and add higher ISO for 4K video recording.
When it comes to speed XZ2P wins, but when it comes to pixel density XZP wins. I still love my XZP.

Got my XZ2 Premium 3weeks ago, i enjoyed using it, overall as a Sony User since SE Xperia im satisfied and appreciate the design and specs upgrade, even the camera that gives a natural result and details. From Xperia Mini, Miro, V, Arc S, M4 Aqua, Z ultra, Z2, Z3c, Z3, XA, XZ, to XZp and now love with my XZ2 premium .

I know there's an upgrade, but in this video, I feel like the XZ Premium actually sounds more rounded?? I mean it has more warmth to the sound, while the XZ2 Premium is a tad pitchy with slightly less clarity than the XZ Premium.
Could be my poor earphones and the mediocre headphone jack inside my Redmi 5 Plus, and I really hope that the same thing isn't true once I try the XZ2 Premium by myself

To be honest as I type on my XZP it still hold up pretty well to the new XZ2 P .The XZP was only marginally behind the newer XZP and by the looks of it the XZP was only noticeably slower and I say slower by maybe 10sec as most on the Games .
As for the Stereo Speakers to be honest it's an improvement on Sony half anyway Sony has always strived to improve their mobile sounds over the last few generations but you would not go out and buy or upgrade based on some improvement their .
Sony are still the only manufacturer to give real Stereo sounds on all their mobiles anyway.
Agian Camera on the XZP still holds out over the newer XZP2 and Sony is following trend with the use of dual-lens cameras.
The XZ2 yes does better on the Games but that's because it has 6GB of Rom as XZP has 4GB that's was no surprise anyway .
Personally their more and more rumours regarding Sony XZ3 now be interesting to see what happens their ??? .
For now I'm still loving my 2017 XZP it's still one of the very best out their and even with Snapdragon 835 CPU is no slouch. My XZP is by far the very best mobile IV ever owned and IV had mobile sense late 90's I'm now 38 years old .

Also I don't like the new design of the XZP2 ,shame Sony did not use the XZP design and just notche of 1inch on the bezals that's all they needed to do .
Also I hate finger print censor at the back .for me I find the finger print censor on the right hand side absolutely perfect .
So if Sony used the 2017 design and added dual-lens camera with finger print censor at the side bang Sony would have even a bigger winner in my book anyway 😎😜

XZP owner here. Typing on mine. Had it since November 2017. Awesome phone. I don't hate the look of the 2 as much as some. If I had the spare change I would buy it in November when the price drops a bit (paid $560 for mine) At its edges it is thinner than the 1 and the camera is better and the slomo is better than anything else out there (except the xz2)

Perhaps I should say, I'm a Sony fanboy, and literally used most flagships from all OEM'S, of all Sony phones I've possesed people I've met using different brands tend to hate the bezels and blocky design. And I can say non Sony fans 80% hated the design, and 20% liked it. But after upgrading to xz2 all non Sony people I've met love its design, no body have bashed xz2 design. I can say most of you hate xz2 series design because renders don't do justice, in live it's better, just like xz premium, most said it's not good on renders but live is very appealing. I'm receiving my xz2 premium next Monday, already sold my xz premium, and I'm about to sell my xz2 to welcome xz2 premium. And for me selling Sony phones it's not a problem, as long as that customer is capable of affordable a S9,note 8, iPhone 8, will buy the Sony phone

ANDREAS GEGIOS yeah.. But me that used st15i for 6 years. It's not that important as long as it works the way you want it. Very happy with xz premium.
Honestly there's no tangible reason for me to upgrade to XZ2 premium cause after watching this, I realised that the only difference is that the XZ2 premium is 845 snapdragon which makes it 1 to 2 seconds faster.
As regards the 2 cameras at the back of XZ2 premium, I am a musician & not a photographer eventhough my XZ premium has been taking good & clear photos over a year now and I love it plus the higher PPI on it.
I use only Sony phones and i'm a fan of their products but except one just has money to throw around, I'll NOT upgrade to XZ2 premium!
True conclusion, despite of excitement through the changes and add-ons I currently use XZ Premium, XZ2 Premium is still not worthy for me for replacement (yeah I know it's just a year old) but I'm super excited for XZ3 Premium or whatever name will be. 5 things that I hope they will improve; design, fingerprint placement, having the 3.5 mm headphone jack back, double the storage to 128 GB and juice up the battery to at least 4,000 mAh (I know Samsung heated the trend for the last two but I hope Sony will follow too). :-)

Better not upgrading from one generation directly to the next one. Better wait for XZ3 or 4 Premium or of you're on Z5 Premium, then it's worth upgrading to XZ2 Premium.
alexdiezg I've talked to a Sony worker, he says xz3 is a beauty, with OLED, and single camera. He hates ambient flow design, but he says on xz3 it's really beautiful
It's rare for me to think any 1 year upgrade is worth it. If Sony's Premium next year has at least an average design and still great cameras/speed/speakers/etc, then I think it'd be a definite upgrade

speaking bout cameras there is a huge difference, my xz premium is powerless in ambient light room - 4k and 1080p60fps look completely
dark:( comparing to lumia 950, which can film great 4k in low light! and probably xz2 premium can do it at last too? if so - it is really worthy to choose xz2, since it might be the the first 4k display phone with a camera same good as samsung galaxy or lumia 950... it is ironic that sony needed 2!!! cameras to get the same quality where samsung and lumia can handle it with one camera!
plus, the xz2 has some king of hdr+ which makes display turn simple content into hdr close looking

Go to 0:35 and look at both devices. XZP looks way way better than XZ2P. For me other tests don't matter that much as XZP is still fast enough.

I have been using XZ 2 P and I honestly say that this phone feels better in the hand than it look in the video. Plus, its camera in lowlight is fabulous, 🔋 very satifying, screen awesome!!! Thanks Sony!
I'm pretty disappointed about the XZ Premium's speakers. The one thing keeping me from going for an XZ2 are the speakers.

XZ Premium lost its super optimization when it was launched. It was the fasted phone at that time. But now it is not good as that. Even I feel that in my phone. One Plus 3T sometime beats my phone😔

Hmm I'm surprised how big of a difference there is in everything except boot time. I think playstore app messed up some of XZP's multitasking....

RAM capacity doesn't effect speed, it only effects app switching time when over 4GB of cache is utilized. The speed difference is a result of the faster SoC, device specific OS optimizations, and possibly faster flash memory. Memory speed also affects speed but I believe both devices run 1866mhz LPDDR4x RAM.

Makesh M If you think xzp is not enough to do the task. Go upgrade. In my case I usually upgrade every 6 years so I will feel a huge bump on specs.

You mean for the rear camera test? No, this is just in 1080p mode so the stabilization is better than 4K

It's not worth paying $1000 to upgrade, especially since the XZP is still a great phone by today's standards. If you're an enthusiast and want to upgrade then sure. But for most people? No, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm not a Sony supporter, I like them but I give my honest opinion.
