So I froze it and I cooked it today the 10 mins on high made the rice mushy even adding the 1/4c liquid prior to cooking I didn't get the burn notice but it stuck to the bottom and although the flavor was there, it would have turned out better had the rice not been mush
I live when you bring people from other channels on, that’s how I found my favorite air fryer lady, plus it shows how much fun it is, gonna make a bunch of these with my daughter in a few weeks
Kristen, I have to tell you you and your sisters videos have literally changed our lives. My husband and I have health issues and we are older. Between the instant pot and air fryer recipes we can manage and enjoy the meals. We did make the chicken jambalaya and it was very good and my blood sugar was fabulos. But the chicken was tough. We cooked on high pressure for ten minutes as directed. What do we need to adjust? We are at almost coastal altitude. Thank you all again so genuinely. We also likevthe guest sites you share. You really have changed our ives. Thank you and God bless you all.
Hi from Kentucky! I am so happy to see the collaboration between the two of you because I have been watching both of your channels. Thank you so much for the work you do for your viewers. The recipes are so yummy and easy to prepare. My family is grateful!
Great recipes and I love that you can make several ahead of time and pop them in the freezer. My hubby still works FT but an accident left me permanently disabled 8 years ago so it’s tough making meals everyday. These are perfect for stocking up for the days I can’t function well. Thanks for making the recipes simple with “normal” every day ingredients. Have a fabulous week. 🤗 #kindnessmatters
When I freeze my IP bag meals, I set them in a bowl that's just a tad smaller than the diameter of the Instant Pot. It will freeze in that shape, making a perfect fit with absolutely no fidgeting or thawing, simply remove the plastic bag from around it and drop it in. Doesn't save as much space as storing them flat but I've saved so, so much time when I don't have to break up the frozen block of food to fit before I cook it.
@@thatssassy9697 sometimes I'll add 2 or 3 minutes to the cook time if there's a big hunk of meat in it like a roast but I haven't noticed any real difference in doneness whether it's frozen or thawed/fresh.
So exciting to see you and Karen together. I enjoy both of you on your respective channels and together is even better! Loved the tagged vid on her channel too and will go over there to comment! I'm so glad you promoted her channel a while back and I have been praying for her husband and family.
Hi Kristen and Karen. Love both of you! This is just amazing girls how you can come up with these wonderful freeze and cook meals for the Instant Pot. I know this will help a lot of the younger women with families that have to work. And of course, it helps us old gals too. Thank both of you for your thinking caps and the great recipes and tutorials that you come with. Many hugs to both of you. I watch you both. Claudia
Since you use soy sauce, may I suggest Braggs Liquid Aminos. Take a taste test and see if you can tell the difference. Its actually a healthier choice. ...Love your videos...
Agreed. We have been using Braggs Liquid Aminos for years. We get the little spray bottle of it and then refill it from the large bottle. We use it on a lot of different things.
I made the Sausage and rice for dinner tonight. It was so good! I have to change the seasoning to 1 tsp because my mouth was on fire with a tbsp but it was awesome and the rice was not mush!
Wonderful recipes. I have made so many Instant Pot recipes from ur RUclips. I cant figure out what I do wrong but when I do rice I get "burn" notice. I followed ur recipe for the Rice and Sausage burn notice twice. Any ideas? Thank u for ur wonderful recipes.
I made it myself tonight without a burn notice. I put the broth in first, then the veggies and seasonings, then the sausage and lastly the rice. No burn notice.
Defiantly need to add a vid on how you take a meal prep from frozen to finished. I tried this receipt, marked the bag 10mins like was recommended. The rice was not cooked and there were still some frozen parts in the meal. I tried cooking it for 3 more mins and got the burn notice. This didn't work at all.
So happy to see Karen working with you as I have utilized many of her blog posts & videos & learned how to cook with my instant pot from her! Thank you! Everything looks great but I would never use jar garlic & any protein I eat is grass, non GMO fed & humanely raised! Great partnership!
Thank you. I made 17 freezer meals last week. Havent even cooked them yet but I'm already looking for more to do and my freezer is full. I has breast cancer and wish I found this stuff back when I wasnt able to spend along time in the kitchen
I made the Sausage Chicken and Rice and had these thoughts. For us, there was too much rice to meat ratio. I would either double the meat or add in a pound of shrimp. I would also chop the red pepper into bigger chunks. They really shrink in the IP and you could hardly notice them. I will also add a can of diced tomatoes with peppers for some more texture and taste. I know that's a lot of changes; but just thought I would offer it as a suggestion. Thank you to the Six Sisters for posting these. I have many saved already!
Thank you so much for the suggestion!! Yes! My family will do a little less rice most times, but it just depends on how many mouths we are feeding!! Thank you thank you!
I love and follow you both, so it is so exciting to see you guys do a collab! I also love dump and go freezer meals - thank you SO much for this video! Please do more instant pot freezer meal videos (I have watched all of your other ones!)
I made the sausage chicken and rice tonight for dinner. It was super simple and really tasty. My family doesn't like Cajun seasoning so I used chili powder and cumin instead. This one will be in regular rotation with a couple of different veggies added next time.
I bought some stands months ago but still haven’t made any freezer meals, I always intend to make several for my daughter, full time mom and in nursing school so she’s very busy but I haven’t gotten around to it yet
I got a decent request, possibly a challenge. I'm new to instant pot, your are the reason I got one mostly! Can you make a video on pasta sides, or rice sides. There made for stove top or microwave, but I prefer avoid microwaving anything if I can help it. So here's my challenge. Instant pot Dorm room addition please. Love your videos! Out of all the instant pot channels yours are the best! I even catch my self saying sealing not venting with you haha! Look forward to the next sixkening delicious recipe
Love all of the wonderful recipes! Even though it’s only my husband and me, I would love to have a freezer full of meals! I have a dump question. After filling a zip lock bag with all of your ingredients, do you put them on top of each other in the freezer? This seems the only way to fit them in the freezer. I read some posts that suggest using a different way. Thx
Since I had shoulder surgery, I prepped several freezer meals for "later times". I made 2 "batches" of the sausage and rice, 1 was eaten that day (they liked it) the other went in the freezer. Tonight I put it in the IP, followed directions, but thought that didn't look like enough fluid so I added extra. BURN notice. Scraped up the bottom, added additional water...BURN again. Now making them fish & chips. Shame to have to toss all that food now!
Loved the video thank you. Can someone tell me if the sausage that was cut up was a cooked/cured sort? I don't recognise the make from here in the Uk. Looking for an alternative. Thank you.
I can't do onions unless is onion powder so how much should I use. Like a cup of onion = how much onion powder? Thank you so kindly. Hope you ladies have the best day imaginable. 😘💕
I just made the sweet chili chicken. And is it weird that after it was cooked I stirred in a tablespoon of peanut butter? I swear it tastes like Thai Peanut Chicken at the Chinese buffet. So good! Thanks!
These dump and go's .... when you freeze them , you have to thaw them to get them out of the bags to dump in the pot, right? Or do you just cut it out of the plastic bag and put it in the pot frozen??? Prob dumb question, but new to this pot thing ... LOL
I doubled the sausage and rice recipe and made two freezer bags and both of them (tired on different days) turned out horribly... the rice was like mush and almost a grit like texture and they both burned on the bottom of the pot. I was so excited to try this and love the idea of a dump and go freezer meal but was so disappointed in how it turned out :( i followed the recipe exactly, did I do something wrong??
I love both of your channels! I've become addicted while waiting on my 8 qt instant pot duo plus! Got an awesome deal on amazon last week! $89.99!!!!! Wooo hoooo!!! Anyways, I have a question... if I'd like to make any of the freezer meals not as freezer meals does anything change like the cook time or anything else? Thanks! Question if anyone knows please.....How much more water should I add if I wanted to use brown rice instead of white in the chicken sausage and rice recipe?
Love the videos. I tried just a cup of Jasmine rice in my instapot and 1 cup of water. I can't remember how long I cooked it but not very long. It was mushy. I watched different videos on how to cook rice. I think I cooked 8 or 10 minutes. Maybe that was too long. Anyway, great video. Thanks.
I wish you ladies would clarify some of these concerns. I noticed in the written directions it said to use cooked onion and sausage before freezing, but you don’t mention that in the video-so which is it?

I think this is brilliant. Teach your children how to prepare meals this way as a life style skill. Thank you for sharing how to organize this!

Is pressurizing an issue when cooking straight from frozen or do you turn on saute' for a bit to melt some of the liquid before you pressurize?

Great! Glad to see an Instant Pot project with Karen, 365! I am a fan of Karen’s Ranch Chicken Spaghetti recipe for the Instant Pot! Good job, Ladies!
Thank you!!
Oh my goodness! My favorite 2 instant pot experts in one video! How awesome!

I love these dump and go freezer meal ideas.
Instead of a bag stand, roll the top of your bag to the outside about an inch or two. This will keep the bag open and keep the zipper clean of food.
I follow Karen on Pinterest and love her recipes. Glad you collaborated with her. I love SSS and 365
I love Karen's channel and have used some of her recipes.
Best one yet! You two have great chemistry.
Use your cookie jar as a bag stand :-)
Since you use soy sauce, may I suggest Braggs Liquid Aminos. Take a taste test and see if you can tell the difference. Its actually a healthier choice. ...Love your videos...
Yes! I can't stand the salty flavor of soy sauce, so I substitute with liquid aminos whenever possible.
Agreed. We have been using Braggs Liquid Aminos for years. We get the little spray bottle of it and then refill it from the large bottle. We use it on a lot of different things.
I found quite a few IP channels. I like "Six Sisters" and Karen Peterson the best. Good directions and recipes.
I love watching both of you. You’re both awesome! Thank you both for sharing.
I use this recipe with Kielbasa yum
Nice to see different dump & gos. Lots of the same recipes floating around are on everyones channels. Like reruns!!! Lol. Thank you!
Love, love, love to watch you both. Love both of your channels. I learn so much. :)
I made the Sausage and rice for dinner tonight. It was so good! I have to change the seasoning to 1 tsp because my mouth was on fire with a tbsp but it was awesome and the rice was not mush!
Did you cook it from frozen?
Mine was mush
And it was cooked from frozen with the additional 1/4 c liquid added prior to cooking
I love Karen and her recipes. They are easy to follow and delicious 😋
I need to know how to make Maine made beans in my Insta pot
Oh my gosh! I love that you too collaborated!

So, the time you are writing down to cook the meal, do you compensate if it's frozen or thawed? Thanks very much. Love your channel.
I was wondering the same?? 🤔😊
Didn't she say in the video, 25 for frozen, 20 for fresh. Which I think is way too long
10 minutes, 3:56
Also is it a quick release or slow release? Kinda lacking info on this video.
@@PortlyTravellers Quick. It's in the video. ;)
If I wanted to double the Sweet Chili Chicken meal how much time would need to be added to the cook time? Thanks in Advance!
Can you cook the first meal from frozen(chicken sausage and rice) in instapot or do you have to let thaw? If you can on what setting and for how long?
shouldn't you blanch raw veggies if your gonna freeze them? Im curious how they come out. I might just give it a try.

Wondering same thing!
Dianna E she usually will freeze it in a plastic pitcher like you would use for tea? So it freezes in the rounder shape
I would love an answer I made sweet chili chick fresh and the sauce was runny and diluted
Dumb question but how hard is it to get the frozen meal out of the bag? Do you need to thaw for 15 min first? Or microwave it?

How long does it take to cook the meatballs?
Really enjoyed this!!
Does the amount of time cooked change if it's being cooked from frozen?
My experience is that 25 minutes is best for frozen and 20 is fine for thawed.
Good ideas.
OMG! Two of my favorite IP Goddesses in the same video! Be still my beating heart!! :-) (great recipes too!)
Can you not add the liquid to the freezer bag, and then add it to the IP when you throw in the frozen bag of ingredients?
Yes but putting all the ingredients in the bag will just keep them all together.
Could you do brown rice instead? Would the extra cooking time turn the sausage to mush?
They both have matching Apple watches! Hmmmmmmm!
I love the video I only wish you guys would respond to a lot of the questions here in the comments that I also have
Love the videos. Thanks.

Use the recipe booklet that came w your IP
There’s a page for IP rice including jasmine
This recipe is cooked from frozen
Have you made the chicken and rice with cauliflower rice?

Wow. This is psychedelic. Kris AND Karen? Is Pressure Luck gonna make a surprise trip to Utah in the future?
Also, you can say Cayun
I wish you ladies would clarify some of these concerns. I noticed in the written directions it said to use cooked onion and sausage before freezing, but you don’t mention that in the video-so which is it?
Would be nice if you would say about how many the recipes serve, I'm a stay at home dad with four kids ranging from 9 to 14 so growth spurts.
