I've bet FM4 but FM3 feels more nostalgic to me, what i'm attracted to most is the way superior art-style and front cover. 1:25 Look at the play button, only GT4 could match that amazing game art.

I feel FM4 perfected the balance of "hand-holding" for casuals just wanting to race new cars for free but also allowing hardcore racers to pick through the event list, choosing what cars you wanted to race/buy. Also the incentive to turn off assists/racing line [and rewind ;) ] and earn more credits. The affinity bonuses meant free upgrades for nearly any car you raced a few times which often seemed too easy but then again many of the more exotic cars in the game are quite expensive :)

FM3 was another solid entry in the series. I think Forza Motorsport 4 is the peak of the series though, hope you make a video on that also. I started playing it again on a 360 I got from a friend and having tons of fun even though the DLC is unavailable. Disc 2 has plenty of extra content.
Lately I've enjoyed playing it like Project Gotham Racing. Turning off opponent "upgrades" on certain races and finding a good un-upgraded competitive car to match the other stock vehicles. For example the racing class events always suffered because of the already fast racing cars now given +150 hp by removing restrictor plates. I had lots of fun yesterday doing the Asian R3 races with a stock Viper Comp. Coupe run with extremely low downforce. The Asian GT cars were much faster in corners/braking but I could pull away easily with the 8 L V10 :D

@oli gordon yeah but I prefer the tyre physics in 4, IDK...

    • @ironbru1986
      @ironbru1986 Год назад +3

@oli gordon Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection is actually missing 3 DLC packs, the Pre-Order Car Pack (all the pre-order cars from various places put into one DLC pack from when Forza Motorsport 3 first released) and the VIP Membership Car Pack they didn't have an excuse for as they were already released before Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection. For the last one Turn 10 decided to pull a fast one and release 1 final DLC pack after Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection was released, which was the Community Choice Classics Car Pack.
On top of that Turn 10 decided to do the absolute BS of releasing 2 DLC Car Packs with 3 cars each (Stig's Garage Car Pack and Ultimate Collection Car Pack) that could only be got it you bought Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection, so even if you bought all the DLC released for the game on the Xbox 360 store you wouldn't have access to all the cars without buying an entire other version of basically the same game again.
In order to have everything you had to buy the game on day one, buy the season pass, buy the VIP membership, buy the other DLC that wasn't part of the season pass as it released (which was actually more cars than was in the season pass), buy Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection and then buy the last DLC they released after that. You had to do it quick once all the DLC was released too as they not long after that delisted all the games DLC without giving anyone any notice at all, as they didn't even bother to mention that they were delisting all the games DLC until after they already delisted it.
So after all of that BS this "ultimate collection" is actually missing 21 cars if you have all of the DLC actually released for the game on the Xbox 360 store. The Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection caused alot of deserved backlash during and after it's release due to Turn 10's handling of it and the quite frankly BS anti-consumer decisions they made and really showed how gready Turn 10 could be. I strongly believe all this BS is what lead to Forza Motorsport 4 not selling as well as Forza Motorsport 3 (by about 1 million, nearly all of which was a loss in USA sales) as the fan base was completely done with Turn 10's BS at that point.

I don't think fm3 was a solid entry, or even anywhere close to that. It spoiled the soundtrack, it was bad for other games, not just the quality but the amount of them. Anything in the game takes way to much money, while grinding is long and boring, cars are slow, not too many customizations, and the shit brakes made the game the worst fm. The graphics is good and bad at the same time, some maps are flat, textures blury af.
Oh, and the physics will force spin you out if you try to drift. Making drift cars isn't even balanced. Like why the Ford Fiesta so op with 4wd in drift?
Or in normal race, that Mazda le mans car with the i4 in it op, but the Wankel engine swap makes it 800kW strong from somewhere 450 with the original engine, and still goes as a beast?
Abs isn't working, mostly because I stop faster without abs, while the wheels are blocked, and ASM will always blink for no reason.
In the list, there were some competitors, but the major one is the GT4 at that time, and still, it's a better game, no matter what they make for standing on top.
It is a really bad downgrade from FM2, in terms of anything, only on the amount of cars maybe, but it won't would save anything.

Textures are much blurier than its competitor ON PS2, and it's physics, I don't lie if I say the first point when i felt fast was somewhere at Mulsane going with 400 with a full upgraded RX7 without motorswap. 100 felt slugish, 200 felt like I took a slow turn and I'm accelerating right now, 300 was maybe fast, but a Lime roller felt faster in a straight line. It isn't just a step back.

I love Forza 3. Sadly you missed the best part of this game.... But first the cons.
I agree with the career progression. In that regard FM1-FM2 are the best in the series. The other thing that sucks is as you realized upgrading your car gets EXPENSIVE. Being gifted cars allows bad drivers access to faster stuff but you don't really earn it. Playing the game purely in solo means a lot of grinding. And like you said it's harder to sort cars. (There are some little tricks to figure out what all the turbo cars are or sorting all the v8 engine cars together but it shoulda been easier). The other bad thing is you absolutely need the dlc and other added content or you're missing 2/3s of this game.
Alright bad stuff outta the way.
What YOU missed out on was online multiplayer. That's what absolutely made this game at legendary level.
Custom matches, tag mode, multi-class racing, making money while online, cars you could buy in auction house that were only given if you met a developer of the game..OH YA and turn 10 used to play with the players online MONTHLY. And they would hand out what we're known as Unicorn cars. Exclusive cars you couldn't buy anywhere. Online storefront where if you clicked on a gamer profile you could see every single paint and tuning setup they ever made. It was great if you had a favorite artist and wanted to collect all their work or a favorite tuner all their tunes.
And of course the rest of the pros are self explanatory. More cars, tracks, better graphics and physics, etc.
    Forza 3 when it was alive was a 9/10 now it's a 7/10.
I personally believe the next game FM4 is just as fun as FM2. But most people prefer FM4 just cause it's newer and has more stuff. But I'll let you decide :)
    Can't wait for next video!

I’m really impressed by this, it looks like it at least matches GT5. The environments look wayyy better especially the mountain circuits and stuff like that which aren’t just basic racetracks. The cars look great too and it runs at 60fps and supports 720p with 4xMSAA or 1280x1080 with 2xMSAA. It also runs better with less tearing than either of the PS3 GT games, despite having superior lighting (although the roads are too shiny sometimes). I do think the game looks better in 720p than it does in the 1080p mode here, though.

You can fully use the same search features from FM2, it's just a little convoluted: you go to buy car, then search, then press X for show all and then X again for car list. No idea why they had to do it like this.
BTW the game is definitely NOT showering you with money, quite the opposite in fact, it's just not apparent at first. All of the event payouts are significantly less than what you get from similar events in FM2 - an endurance race in FM2 pays out more than twice as much than the FM3 counterpart for example. Not to mention that the cars in FM3 are a lot more expensive - up to 57 times(!!!) as much for the most expensive car (20 mil for the 250 GTO in FM3 vs 350k for an LMP in FM2). The 4 most expensive cars in FM3 together cost almost as much as all cars from FM2 combined. And all of that on top of not getting any price cars from events. Combine all those things together and you have imo frankly the worst economy in any Forza game. Good thing they came to their senses with FM4 and started giving you bonus money for manufacturer affinity and driver levels 51-150.

the Celica Supra (if not told already by someone in the chat) is a thing, the first two generations of Supra were variations of the Celica, from the Supra A70 onwards, it became a standalone model

I really miss when FM had proper career modes. Also I miss so many of those tracks. Camino Viejo was one of my favorite tracks. I want it come back to Forza so much.
I liked that you could keep the same car for a while if you wanted or you could jump to a new car. It had more choice than the current FM where you can only get a new car. It made me feel like my career path was my own.

I owned both games when they came out and still play them regularly. GT5 doesn't look worse than FM3 unless you pick a standard car on a GT4 HD track. Pick a premium car like a Ferrari F430 on a track like the Nurburgring or Special Stage 7 with weather effects and GT5 is miles ahead.. It's just that in general Forza is more flamboyant while GT prefers the realistic approach. But yes, backgrounds are usually better on Forza (maybe because the game has to render less cars?).
Edit : Yes, the Supra started as a Celica variant.

I wanted to play Forza Motorsport 4 but I think my disc is damaged. It crashes on one of the first few tracks and trying to install it to the HDD on my 360 crashes as well
I assume there isn't a way to "install" the files from a PC without a modded Xbox 360, right? Like copying files to the drive and Xbox would pick them up? I don't have a friend from whom I can borrow a copy to install the game sadly.

Awesome game :) It's a shame that the arcade type mode is limited to time trial and 2/3 lap races...if you could create you're own races (lap count, opponent count, tyre wear etc) it would be a 10/10 game.

To be honest, I've always loved Forza Motorsport 3, mainly because of the graphics for the game, the cars and some of the tracks.
I even liked the feature of the auction house to buying and selling cars between players, even car's that have been customized by other players from using the feature to apply decals to your car.
However, what is really disappointing is that the developers chose to only release the game exclusively for the Xbox 360, which I will mention if I remember requires Xbox LIVE Gold membership to access online features, which I don't have due to living in a poor family.
In my opinion, I think all games should always be released to both platforms for both console and pc, as not everyone plays on both systems, especially now since because of the rising costs for pretty much everything, so for most people can't buy a console while for others can't buy a good enough pc, or in some cases, some people can't get both.
I would of loved to have a pc version of the game because I had a lot of fun with it when I first started playing it on the Xbox.
Along side that for all games need to have a very wide verity of graphic options in the settings to match any computers hardware performance since not everyone can afford a good enough computer or the parts necessary just to run and play a game of interest, basically a lack of low graphics options for decent or low-end computers.
