thank you for the effort and sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. seeing your work gives me hope that my godox kit can achieve a similar look. and thank you for using the 50mm, an often forgotten focal length for headshots. BIG thumbs up.
I actually got the A2 when they had a promotion with the folding soft box…love it!!! So compact and plenty of light for one or two people if I don’t need high speed sync. This is primarily for outdoor shoots and by the beach or desert here in California.
Both of these are part of my setup. I don't use the Magnum often, though, because it requires more precision in aiming and more distance due to its narrow beam of light. The plain A2 without modifiers usually wins out most of the time.
Maybe I wasn't ready to learn about lighting before, but this one video is so chock full of good, useable information, that I can finally justify getting a decent light. Your creativity especially with the locations always amazes me. Thank you again!
@@soholingo wait for sales on the (same thing diff name) Flashpoint XPLOR 100 Pro (Adorama) / Godox AD100pro (BHphotovideo). Got mine for 179$ and a second with the ak-r1 accessories for another 40-50$ (instead of 56$). I either use the nano x3 (the godox version of that tiny profoto he is using) with a 1 light setup, when I'm using more than one I'll use my x2t trigger (I can also use a manual flash on top for some fill like he uses that fuji with just quick clicks wheel for fill on the fly) for quick button presses vs a touch screen.
I am relatively new to your channel and must say I’m hooked to your way of teaching and presenting. I mainly shoot family portraits and events and have “gotten away” with hard light on many occasions. As you well said, when outside in sunny conditions, having the background with hard shadows and the people with soft shadows does look odd, for me at least, but not necessarily the clients. The benefit of soft light is that it is kinder to not so perfect faces. Everyone wants to look their best, you know how it is. I have Godox lights with roundheads and that hard spot modifier looks great. Does it fit well on Godox as it looks Profoto?
What percentage would you say are you using strictly TTL? Im using it more and more in controlled enviroments with the new Godox trigger and really enjoy it.

People talk about light, but photoshopping s#it out out the skin. Smaller light source more skin imperfections will show. That's why before modern digital era, models were very young with perfect skin. Retouching was just too expensive.
Amazed at how hard light outdoors can work with the ambient light and appear really soft while still showing soft light direction!
It's a really cool building your studio is in.
It’s never boring.
great video, thanks for sharing, it looks so simple and yet very effective, great job,
Love the bookcase, stairs, and pool table shots. That girl is a cutie!

7:48 and 7:58 lovely poses and captures. I’d be very happy with just those two. Seasoned professionals at work shows here.
gorgeous photos and yes the light is nice too :D
😂 thank you.

The A2 has beautiful light as a bare unit.

It does work well on Godox

I would say 50/50 Much more than I ever have before. Depending on the camera system/flash system.
Great photos of a beautiful lady. The building looks like Aladdin’s cave so many props. Do you do much editing of your photos?
Retouching of the skin was done with retouch4me plugins on these. Normally all my images are just done on the iPad.
This is a great video, thank you. Is there a small modifier like the profoto you’re using for Godox?
Look for the Angler Fast Box
Thank you
What stand are you using? I like how tall it gets. I have a manfrotto but I think it’s no more than six feet tall.
What are your thoughts on using continuous lighting vs reflectors for fill?
Like them both. I use StellaPro Reflex for my constant light on location.
Is your photo studio in a mall or an indoor market or something? So many places to shoot, that's amazing!
It’s just a very artsy building.
Do you ever use the clic fresnel?
I do but only on the A2. The light pattern is not great on the A10, V1 or AD100
Great shoot💜
Can you speak to the perks of joining your channel?
😂 if you have to ask I’m probably not the channel for you. I just share my shoots here and hopefully help in some way.
@@kaskoPhoto no I mean monthly paid subscribing to your channel.
You have a join button at the top of the comment section, I was wondering what were the extras for paying.

@@veivoli I did but the information was sparse. I love this channel, and want to support, but I need to know what extra I am getting.
