Yeah, I live in Texas and there is no formal hunting season for feral hogs because they are officially labeled a pest, therefore its always Hog Season.
I most states in the south they are vermin.

Pigs aren't necessarily dirty animals. If it's hot they will wallow in mud to cool off but they otherwise are fairly clean (by animal standards)

Pigs are my favourite animal by the way. They're super cute (and also tasty)! I am baffled that comparing a person to them is used as an insult in almost any society.

Pig is food. Pigs aren't that intelligent because they don't have the ability to problem solve in the real world. They only solve human made puzzles built just for them and in the wild, they use their bodies more than their brains.

Even as early as that Punic Wars series, they had a wise, patient leader tell his hot-headed second-in-command "Somehow 'I told you so' just doesn't cut it" after the latter got most of their army's asses handed to him by Hannibal. These are very definitely folks who know how to tell a story! 😀

When I saw Cuba I thought the Bay of Pigs invasion since the episode was hog oriented...

For a second, I thought the title was a reference to Golden Treasure: The Great Green.
It'd be the greatest event ever to fend off an invading wave/army of these things. I have the greatest image ever of just calling in Darktooth, Vantage, and Warden to have a hundreds-strong barbeque. Wolf followers optional, but preferred. (For that matter, I can also just see Bloom's rooster perched somewhere high up fruitlessly trying to recruit some extra followers to their dragon cult.)

It was omnivorous, incredibly physical and athletic, well-armored, and equipped with huge, powerful jaws.
It's ONE weakness was that it was solitary, meaning smaller, more efficient group hunters eventually out-competed them.

Pigs were also used as a military asset against Elephant brigades. I think this happened in Hannibal's invasion of Rome, but maybe it was Alexander vs India or one of the Chinese wars or something, but apparently elephants are afraid of pigs, so when the army with pigs fought the army with elephants, they would light their pigs' tails on fire and herd them into the enemy elephants, which would cause the elephants to freak the fudge out and trample their own supporting infantry.
I don't think the elephants were afraid of pigs, but were afraid of fire, instead. And it's easier to sacrifice a herd of pugs than a herd of most other animals. Also, horses hate the smell of camels and so armies on horseback had trouble fighting armies riding camels.
