Gotta throw flag on side line on #58, also a Emmy flop, by maholmes, cheifs o line held every pass play all night. Just unreal how one sided this game was called. Go back look at spots on 2 punts by kc. 1 ladt time bengals got ball which resulted in fg, right before halftime. And 1 where kc punts to bengals with 2:30 left in game. Look where ball rolls out on 1st one, and where it is spotted. Last one goes outta bounds in air.?????????

The crazy part about this is that the refs messed up with the play clock on a dropped pass and then messed up again by not fixing it correctly the first time and only fixed it after a play had already happened. It's like a triple whammy into why the NFL officiating sucks and needs to change. Also remember last years game between these two when a play stood, as it correctly should have, even after the whistle was "blown"? Weird how they actually get it "correct" here isn't it. Correction, it wasn't the game between these two that had the call last year, it was the Bengals vs Raiders game.

you're missing the point, they intentionally set this up as a back up plan in case the Chiefs didn't get first down there. if they made the play the ref would not have made them re do the down. this was most blatant rigging of a sports game ever. also the refs didn't mess up and reffing won't be changed. this was not their decision, they are obviously taking orders from someone above and did a good job of swinging the game in KC favor.

Even if the drive didn't amount to points scored it wasted much needed time and affected Cincy in many ways. Bad calls don't need to lead to points scored to have an effect on the end of the game. The momentum was with the chiefs the second that they got 5 downs and it stayed with them until the end of the game.

However the result of the previous play was an incomplete pass, meaning the game clock should have stopped. The head ref stated after the ball was adjusted, "The game and play clock will start on my whistle" in which the game clock started again. That should not have happened. The refs did not notice the game clock has started until after the play began, causing the controversy. The play should not have been allowed to happen, and the game clock should not have ever started again.

1:04 is the exact moment that needs to be discussed more here. He clearly states that both game clock and play clock would start on his whistle. The ref made a mistake with what needed to happen, which is what caused this fiasco to begin with.
Edit: One - I'm saying all of this as a Chiefs fan. Two - I will re-word how I said this. I know the play before was an incomplete pass. How I see this is that the ref said both play clock and game clock start on his signal and the operator did as the ref had stated. When this happened live, I was confused as to why it was replayed as he had stated both should start, then said only the play clock should have started. This entire situation should not have happened to begin with if the ref had not messed up. That one instance has cause a commotion that will not die down for a long, long time (if it ever does).

    • @GRITBONE
      @GRITBONE Год назад +34

yep. it was an incomplete pass, game clock was stopped, they reset the play clock to 10 after re-spotting the ball, then he mistakenly said to start the game clock and play clock. and that line judge down the field noticed it as they were about to snap the ball.. you can BARELY hear his whistle tweeting, but he definitely was trying to stop the play pre-snap.

Correct, and everyone's pissed because it seemed to hurt the Bengals, but they still would have done the exact same thing if the Chiefs had converted. It would have been called back. Just imagine the shitshow if KC had gotten a first down or even a TD and had it nullified over this!
The ref had no idea who he was screwing over when he fucked up, because he had no way of knowing what was going to happen on the next play. It's an epic mistake that he'll never live down, but fans calling it an example of match fixing or being "rigged" are just completely detached from reality. Gene Steratore literally explained what happened and why on the broadcast. It didn't even end up affecting the outcome of the game, anyway.

KC are the NFL darlings these days and that creates an unfair playing field for whoever their opponent is. The REAL game clock on the field was running - not shown on TV - which is why the play was blown dead and then replayed after they fixed the time. You can cry about someone being fired for it, which may or not happen, but people make mistakes.

I’m not even a fan of either team. But this is the first time I’m actually siding with the nut-jobs that think the NFL is rigged haha. Those last 30s or so of that game was CLEAR intention to give KC almost every opportunity to FINISH that game with a W, hell, they even helped them run down that clock. And I’m not even going to get into all the horrible calls in the other 3 Quarters.
If I was a Bengals fan I’d definitely be upset too.
Something needs to change in this league, very quickly. I’d start with getting rid of Goodell, but even then, I doubt that would stop all of the absurdities. Look at this from a economic standpoint. What’s the bigger draw for the NFL, KC vs Philly or CIN vs Philly. There’s only one right answer. Hell, one of the NFLs biggest podcasts is the Kelces brothers going back and forth promoting the league more than anyone else has for decades. They know this, because regular television is in the tank, and what better way to have 2 of your players (already under contract by the NFL=no added cost for them) providing free advertising and breaking into an avenue (the internet) which they’ve always had a problem getting into. And the sole reason they always had a problem with gaining traction on the internet is because the league has been run by geriatric old men for decades in decades. They literally have no proper connection to young people and what they want.
It really is starting to add up to the WWE 2.0 with these antics. 2 weak calls in a row that all led to an easy breezy FG with just a few seconds left on the clock.

So inevitably it could still go either way, but with those advantages the odds are at a great advantage to the house.
So yes, I will still call some conspiracy theorists ‘but jobs’. The ones who think ‘everyone is in on it’ are completely insane, and that goes for any conspiracy theory. The most accurate, and conspiracy that get proven true are usually the ones with the fewest amounts of moving parts. The more people that know just means the more people there are to expose. Gronk got mauled and interfered with all game. Brady was getting blinded by a "fan" with a laser pointer all game. The Chiefs scored on a illegal play. The Chiefs got the ball back with 3min to go on the Chiefs 30 yard line after Kelce fumbled and the Patriots getting the ball but a ref gave it back to the Chiefs on a VERY questionable defensive holding penalty. Yeah the refs are biased but in this case I guarantee they were trying to get the Chiefs to the Superbowl. The famous offsides should have never happened because of the Kelce fumble and Dee Ford was like a full yard offsides so how do you NOT call that? It would have been BLANTANT had he not called that and the refs would have REALLY been called out. Edit: if you re watch the game even Romo called this stuff out. The ref screwed up with the clock adjustment and told the operator to wind the clock on his signal. That was incorrect as the previous play was an incomplete pass and so the clock shouldn't have started until the snap. The official that watches the clock ran in to shut the play down because the clock was running early but the snap took place. So the play ran even though it was a dead play and then got brought back. This happens quite frequently that plays get shut down but the snap still occurs. I believe you see it most frequently with false starts.

@@clarencecompton9821 I'm a Raiders fan, so I naturally don't like the Chiefs, but that's just how the NFL officiating works, and I think most fans would agree with me. Maybe not about this play, but officiating in general. Officiating serves its purpose and makes sure the players follow the rules, but more often than not, the NFL coddles its superstars, like Mahomes, among others. Especially in important games, the officials can pretty much control the outcome with one or two penalties that probably shouldn't be called, but can't be denied, or not calling a blatant foul.
For example, you could call offensive holding on just about every play. I wouldn't if I was an official because that essentially defeats the purpose of the O-line, but theoretically they could. When the Raiders choked against the Rams, that wasn't entirely their fault. On the Rams game-winning drive, Maxx Crosby got held horrendously 3 times, and one of those was in the Rams endzone, so it should have been a safety and the game would've been over. But none of them got called, giving the Rams the opportunity to win that they never should've had in the first place.
I'm not someone that gets fuming mad when officials make a bad call, but I am internally extremely annoyed with the officiating in all the games, not just the Raiders or their rivals. Something needs to change.

Bogus Calls Against Bengals as Documented by a Non-Bengals Fan:
    1) Do-over 3rd down play that cost the Bengals field position and 1 timeout in 2nd half since the Chiefs converted another 1st down with Eli Apple's defensive holding
    2) Bogus intentional grounding where Perine was in the area
    3) Multiple missed roughing the passer calls on Burrow based on how it has been called this year (one where Chris Jones landed with full weight on top of Burrow and another where a Chief clearly pushed Burrow down WELL after the play)
    4) Missed block in the back on final Chiefs punt return that set up game winning field goal
    5) Missed offensive holdings on Mahomes' last run as he miraculously stopped pretending to limp with his fake injury
    6) Ridiculous late hit call with Mahomes flop out of bounds that was a dumb play by Ossai but also mostly influenced by Mahomes' absurd flop from a light tap by Ossai
    7) Phantom DPI call on second to last drive by Chiefs that even Mike Pereira said was bogus

@Coolyioy not at all, I had no dog in this race. I'm a Panthers fan that's getting sick of the NFL all together because of BS like refs that allow teams to line up only to stop them, when the offense has had chance to see the defensive alignment, only to move the ball a few inches. Then they take forever to "correctly" start a down that has already been played out to the point where not only were all the players ready, but 6/7 refs were too.
