What a lovely idea. I think anything that brings us all joy is a treat. And this was a treat to watch. I got my husband to pick my books for a week the other week, as were in the same house but I’m shielding, so it was something fun we could do two metres apart. Loved how you’d thought about the books for each other and the joy you both had opening them. Fab selections too. Lovely stuff.

(and a wonderful source of book recommendations for my ever-growing TBR, so thank you for that!) i was very excited when i saw you open passing by nella larsen -- i read it last semester for my degree in a course about the genre of the urban gothic (as we extended our attention to the ways in which authors after the 19th century, especially authors of color, re-imagined tropes and concepts from the genre as reclamation) and i absolutely LOVED it, and i think (i hope!) you'll enjoy it; it definitely seems up your alley!

I LOVED Heroes by Stephen Fry! (and Mythos too). The way he writes these books and the humor, I adored it! I have bought Troy and can't wait to read it (although it will have to wait once I will have to do a long bus ride and probably also after Normal People).
