Making this film must've been hard not to laugh. The amount of takes.....so many classic moments. Still one of the funniest films I've seen to this day.
It's sad they don't make brilliant movies like this anymore, obviously because both Richard pryor and Gene wilder have passed away, but what's even worse they could show these classic movies on tv instead of the bs they show, thanks be to God for the internet.
OH shit SKIP, SKIP,!!!!! This is the best movie ever!!!! These great actor's are genius together!!!! So very sad they are no longer with us. They made this movie, GREAT!!!!! They are in a class all their own!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!!!
it must’ve been Impossible for anyone within sight & sound range of this film to not lose it on a daily/hourly basis. thank God that we had these two when we did & that they found each other (thanks M. Brooks for seeing the connection)
Me and my younger sister grew up watching these films, thanks to our parents. My mum worked in a video store for a long time and became manager. Me and my sister requested this, blazing saddles and see no evil hear no evil. Repetitively, as well as the all time Great, The Goonies, Back To The future and the Indiana Jones films, even Shogun Assassin, the terrible US mashup of a great Japanese series, Line Wolf and Cub (I loved it though, and as an adult, found the original series in a 10 DVD box set) and star wars (I was obsessed with star wars since seeing the entire IV-VI with my mum in cinema when they were released), before Lucas fondled them with redundant CGI that ruined the films and my childhood memories for all time. I agree. Today's "comedy duos" are all ridiculous cliches in lazily written and infantile style. Prior and Wilder were given great scripts with great plots and classic actors supporting them. Two giant comedians and comic actors. Yes, it's silly, but it's not stupid like today's "comedy duo" films. The only comedy duo type films that ever came close were the Bad Santa films. They had a foul mouthed air of reminiscence about them to these films. It's all in the writing and directing. Today's comedy duo films are tragically insulting to one's intelligence, yet there is a market for them. That means people have become even more sedated and domesticated. Lowest common denominator, Prior and Wilder comedy were not. However, lowest common denominator is the target and the lowest has become alarmingly low. This is champagne comedy for adults and younger audiences. I was a little film critic due to access to the entire (age appropriate) video shop in primary school. The bar is definitely being lowered for film.
Comedic geniuses!!! They had an outstanding chemistry. It was awesome to see. I love every movie those two have been in together. Kevin Hart my azz. These two must have all of those in heaven rolling!
Gene said on TV morning show in the UK that Richard improvised his whole jail scene with the matches and dialogue. The director actually kept the same 1st take in the movie and you can see and hear Gene was trying not to laugh loud at what Richard was doing with match..
They don’t make films like this no more...............priceless🤣
They dont. What they make is agenda driven films.
Team America World Police.
Yes tha'ts right.

Stir crazy Directed by the late Great Actor, Sydney Poitier.
You want to see Sidney Poitier as an older man in a really good movie? It's called the last brickmaker in America
I love the way the other guard just faces the wrong way
Boy if stan laurel were there he'd be crying
Stan laurel: (crying)
Guard 💂♂️: we're trying to sleep 😴 💤

Richard Pryor is freaking hilarious in this movie. Gene Wilder can barely get through a scene when Pryor gets going.

How could you even write something like this in a script?
"NO MORE HITTING."
