- Cleanrot Knight's Sword is considered as the best weapon in Elden Ring ever since the release in 2022 and then it became even stronger once DLC Shadow of the Erdtree dropped thanks to the Two-Handed Sword talisman.
Now, with patch 1.13 this weapon got buffed even though it absolutely didn't need it!

I dueled someone the other day that was using 2H carian sorcery sword and 133 poise. They threw out a few swift glintstone shards before cutting to the chase the mashing R1. I lost, obviously. I was talking to them later and I asked why they bothered with the spells at all. They said "I'm proving a point." I was stunned...like, what point about 2H thrusting sword max poise needs proving??
You poise chip with Swift Shard, and due to the current nature of 2H TS poise damage not breaking 133 anymore, you can effectively reinstate that with well-placed shards.

Michael Zaki really gives us what we want. Next patch he should bring back pre-patch Rivers of Bobera.
Original pre patch RoB was dogshit, than there was another patch that giga buffed it shortly, than the rest of the games it's been a mid weapon that's good for noob stomping. There was a very short window where it was actually op. Other than that it's a git gud gamer moment.
For most of it's life it's not op, it's just difficult to learn how to outspace. There's way more egregious weapons in er though. RoB is jjst braindead ez to use, and slightly harder to counter than it is to spam, so a lot of people got a lot of work out of it.
Whereas something like moon veil is probably a bit harder to use, but it's way more egregious imo. Especially in invasions with multiple people spamming it

I really, really don't understand why this is seen as the best weapon in the game. Katanas are stronger, and fist weapons are way faster and stronger, and it still sucks ass duel wielded. It only has this reputation two handed as well because people exploit BHS and quickstep, on its own the weapon is just okay, not even remotely OP
@@acolddarkgentlebruh8205Katanas are mainly carried by being dual wielded or the sword of night and kiba, fists are countered by hyper armor or literally anyone patient enough to space them with a longer weapon and not get rill caught to oblivion. With the new patch the cleanrot sword has access to two-handed sword talisman, spear talisman, and a weapon buff making it absolutely ludicrous on the right setup especially since it's primarily strength boosting it's already decent AR further two handed. It's a rapier which are already pretty good especially with the poise changes, and that makes it even better with ashes like quickstep, bloodhound step, endure for trading against dummies, and ofcourse flaming strike because that for some reason kicks ass on 75% of weapons. It's just that weapon tbh 😂❤

Well people were sick of the R2 spam so they gave us this. I wish they would make up their minds on what they want though. Every other patch is a flip flop. So tiring, 2 steps forward, 5 steps back,
Cleanrot Knight Sword kind of looks like it was supposed to be a LGS, but that they didnt have the time to implement the weaponclass. The cleanrot enemy definently uses it like an LGS and not a thrusting sword.

1.10×1.30=1.43 so 43% increase from talismans on counter hit
From just can’t help themselves, gives LGS better poise damage, which was needed but they also buff this monstrosity’s poise damage which it did not need.

I did some testing and all npcs in the game seem to now react to sleep like a player would.
I tested on two of the relevant ones
(Melina and Dung eater)
And also on Redmane Freya.
All the same and no difference between either type of sleep

steel you use magic grease for a particular reason? wanted top guess because a lot of people have lower magic damage negation in their armors, but I'm thinking it without actually really knowing how it works
Always use lightning unless a weapon has elemental dmg already (use magic grease on the carian thrusting shield, holy grease on treespear…)

Steel you have way more pvp experience than me, but didn't the recent update just make it so that R1 spam ds3 days are back? Man I use frejas sword, I do more poise DMG with r1 than r2.

cragblade out damages drawstring grease but you lose ash. if you value damage and extra 10% poise damage stick with cragblade.

The thing is they definitely did do an overpowered weapon properly, it doesn't do the most damage in the game, it doesn't give infinite hyper armor, it doesn't have a broken ash, and technically it does have insane frame data but like that aside, part of the reason why its so op is just because it feels amazing to use
It isn't OP at all, it lacks range, it's out poise damaged by most weapons including katanas, katanas have much more range, you can't spam R1 like you can with a katana. It's only really OP with quick step or BHS slapped onto it. It absolutely isn't OP in an invasion either, you have to be fucking good at the game to make it effective in an invasion at all
@@acolddarkgentlebruh8205 Holy yap, even without qs/bhs you can still block cancel r1s to keep priority vs most stuff, it has such little recovery you need to rely more on reads then reactions in order to whiff punish, 2h ts roll r1 is one of the best attacks in the game and it's almost impossible to punish,2h talisman, spear talisman and then you slap dlc grease and you can deal 500+ dmg on counter hits with a fast weapon with no recovery.

For how fast its attacks come out it definitely does too much damage considering it gets a counterattack damage boost
Also BHS and Quickstep on it are broken, since they both cancel some of the lag on its rolling attack, and the attack has such little end lag that it basically can't be punished

I still contend that against the average braindead mashing co-oper, big hyperarmor weapons are better.
Why is cleanrot better than let's say Estoc in a dex build?
Cleanrot i think gets more dmg and is also longer
Edit: Cleanrot gets slightly less ar for longer reach. Longer reach is probably better than a few extra ar.
keen estoc gets like 10 extra ar over cleanrot. range matters more than damage.

Every weapon was made to do that, including duel wields, it wasn't a targeted buff, it was a conscious choice because they don't want a max poise meta.
They are forcing a max-poise meta though because certain weapon setups (Daggers, Offstoc, Raptor Talons, etc.) require a lot of poise to tank through them, but not max poise, essentially making it so you have to run above 100+ poise else risk getting stunned constantly by these fast weapons (many of which are either common offhand setups or two-handed weapons)
If they don't want a meta that solely revolves around poise then they should either nerf offhand weapon poise damage, the poise damage of many of the fast weapons that are meta, or buff the poise values of medium armor sets (or just do both of the last two)
@@Elden_Cock_Ring it's not forced, they want the weight trade off that of running max poise to counter it. It's a decision that's up to the player, especially since there are things that will still break or negate max poise. Since every weapon does it, you adapt to it a lot easier.
Can someone explain why yall drawstring grease every 2secs? It has no intimidation similar to those who aggressively tap L1 as if they’re about mortal combat combo me after all that tapping.

ER, just like every other souls game favors reactive gameplay where you’re better off waiting for your opponent to make a mistake than being aggressive and trying to force an opening in neutral. Gotta have max damage when they open themselves up

You can just keen infuse it or any other thrusting sword. its not dependent on strength or anything
It works perfectly fine on any build, Strength is just the best if you HAD to choose one only because of the Two-Handed Talisman + Two-Handing Strength bonus since Thrusting Swords are especially broken if you mainly use it while two-handing (because of how every R1 poise breaks no matter the opponent's armor)

@@sPaCe_NiNjA187 I'm aware, usually If it's a row it's for a same input swap though - so you always know you're getting the "same" weapon if you page up/down all the way (or 1/2 presses if you've spent a very long time building your inv lol) no matter what you're using. Or it's just a spacing row for inv management. Alt AoW swaps could be there too, but generally they're below that row.If it's a row like that.
