- I won the Twitch Rivals Elden Ring Tournament in 1v1 category.
I competed against fellow content creators like xqc, Oroboro, OnlyWaifu, Knut and ultimately managed to win flawlessly.
After release of the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree the game got its second life and surge of new & coming back players made this entire tournament very interesting to watch, the hype was through the roof!

@@benjaminshelton978 bro, you need to understand that Steel has played and done well in actual pvp tournaments. These tournaments use seamless co-op mod which greatly reduces latency. This is literally on the organizers for not using that mod. Either that or just dont invite players that you know are from far away which would result in high lat.

This is impossible. Even if they make perfect connection many players still will be playing on 25-40 fps PCs. It affects conection even more than inthernet cable in freeze.

I subscribe to the theory that he maybe making his wifi worse with limiters because I went to south america and the wifi was pretty stable

As a Proud SA inhabitant with 800ms and a full second of hit delay, I can proudly say that I, OnlyWifi am one of the best players in the game. I am extremely knowledgeable about Elden Ring pvp to sage amounts of extents I have practiced every weapon and weapon type in the game and I am professional in the art of not getting whiff punished as a result of my latency, SA tech is supreme, and people should move here to SA if they hope to reach my level at all jajajajajaja.

A lot of people seem to be giving OnlyWaifu shit for their lag but apparently from the discussion Team Otz had with each other throughout 3v3s they realized Steel and OnlyWaifu were the laggest targets to the point they were nearly unkillable and not worth focusing on. Heck, Oroboros was afraid that if they tie to the point he had to do a 1v1 against Steel, the lag would make the fight unwinnable.
Obviously this isn't them saying either player is bad and pointed out that when the Elden Ring PvP connection isn't ass, both of them are crazy good players. But it shows how bad lag is in the PC version when the winning move is to "not attack this guy cause lag"
Now granted, I don't know if OnlyWaifu's lag is all just a game problem or their own set up but I figured it's fair to point this out. PC version has al ot of connection problems if you don't do Seemless COOP.
It's mostly a distance issue when the netcode comes into play. A lot of the big streamers are from North America, and Steel clearly isn't.

Waifu is from Argentina and if you add the base shitty latency of the netcode, the anticheat that adds other latency and the geografic distance 500 ms it's a miracle.

Like I knew it was bad but I kinda forgot how bad EAC breaks the already rough netcode and performance until Seamless updated and suddenly I could play multiplayer with people under 100ms ping AND without stuttering every 2 seconds lmao

@@PoppyPancakelatency is terrible on PC unfortunately. This is why PC tournaments are all run using the seamless coop mod, unfortunately bandai namco was a sponsor for this event so that probably wasn't possible.

I absolutely loved watching this tournament. It was a great time from beginning to end, with a lot of names I knew fighting each other. Glad you got the 1v1 W, you deserved it.
Also, you going out of your way to even coach other teams was pure sportsmanship.
There were talks of Oro potentially looking to host his own tournament as well, but that's not set in stone at all, so if it happens and you get invited, that would be awesome to see.

In the actual tourneys for this game arenas are much smaller, and bed netcode is handled as best as possible by region locking and using seamless coop if the tournament is on PC. "Duelist Event Network VODS" has tourney footage

With proper connections you practically never need to hardswap more than once in a fight unless you hit combos.

Oroboro team won the 3vs3 tournament because they had the best mage on their team (scott jund)
Conclusion : mage are better
They had a fully competent team, unlike most others

@lukaogadze5071 chill, waifu stans, not a dig at the man, just that Argentinian lat. If my comment was a jab at anything, it's vanilla PC lat as a whole. That lat IS insane, no matter how you slice it. Is it waifus fault? No. Does his awareness of his lat and how to exploit it give him a leg up against an average player not well versed in all the nuances of high lat PVP? 100%. That said, when you're up against someone with a similar understanding of high lat play, the field evens out considerably. Obviously. As Steel points out, the advantage in their specific situation tends to very slightly favor him, but it's really a coin toss. Again, my initial comment was not meant to be negative toward waifu at all, just in awe of what his lat looks like onscreen. I'd really like to see what the fight looked like on his screen. I'll have to track that down. I'm sure it's equally as wild. At the end of the day the real villan is vanilla PC. Lat across the board is insane. Seamless makes things so much better. That said, From really needs to implement seemless' net code and implement region based matchmaking before things will truly be the best they can be.
@@joshuathompson2404 you got it wrong friend. im not waifus fan. yes i watch his content because it's good / funny / interesting. me and many my friends also played with him and talked with him. he is chill guy. once he chainsawed me and my friend :D when i messaged him why hed did that he apologized and said that he was collecting content for video(chainsawing random hosts and phantoms :D ). he is also not angel he used bow glitch in his rl 30 invasion stream vs fat rolling clueless host... about seamless vs vanilla... yes seamless have better latency a bit. difference is very small. main problem is distance + internet routing and country's internet quality. i saw tons of latent players on seamless. seamless bypasses eac which has code that checks packets for security. that improves latency a bit. is just myth seamless somehow fixes latency and people are not latent there.
