- Carian Thrusting Shield is one of new weapons introduced in Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree and it's utterly busted.
Along Dueling Shield it is a representative of thrusting shields weapon class that makes almost any setup in the game completely irrelevant due to its blocking properties and is obvious candidate to get nerfed in oncoming patches.

Swapping from the Magic Grease to the Flamestrike coating looks kinda stylish tbh, like a Dueling Shield Rellana build.
Because this Shield is Rellana's Shield according to the description, maybe pair it with Flame Spear or Flame Skewer (if possible I'm not sure) and then also use the Royal Magic Grease so it looks even more Rellana-like

In my anecdotal experience, the game made me think it was best to shield poke during attacks since you are pushed less while in the attack animation. Never really got punished even by miquella for doing it that way but pvp is different beast obviously. If only Radahn knew the kick aow...
I'm out of the loop but the fextra page says the greatshield talisman got changed so that it doesn't add flatly to your guard boost. It removes 1/5th of the incoming stamina damage after your guard boost is applied, so if you remove 50% with 50 guard boost, the greatshield talisman only removes 10 instead of 20. I think now you would only be using it on a shield that you shouldn't be using in the first place, which is more balanced but less relevant.
The Wall keeps getting stronger.

On the lvl200 build you could buff it with 80int Scholar's Armament for +300 magic damage.
11:12 Invaded a guy with a max level phantom using it, that thorns spell did over 1900 damage per hit.

There is no need to shield poke with this anyway, just use the attacks as they all have active block frames an you're still not getting touched
that double edge sword. 75% of attack frames have guard frames. which means that if you trade with kick you will get guard broken most of the time.
You rarely see kick in invasions though. But shields have been used more since the dlc dropped so who knows, it might become more common.

@@lukaogadze5071 Even if you do 90% odds they'll get hitstun anyway an thusly miss the riposte, but equally its not hard to avoid trading with a kick

im just gonna say this cuz i see people missing things in the item descriptions all the time with dlc weapons and armor: the new finger weapon ash of war can be charged for a bigger AOE and more damage

Hey Steel, do you ever used roped pots or are they just not good in PvP? Seems a lot of people sleep on them but I find them pretty useful and nobody ever expects them either.
Unironically, two headed tutel might be better than bull goose in this case
excellent showcase of Carian Thrusting Shield with Flaming Strike. Impaling Thrust or Piercing Fang would make this even deadly @Steelovsky good explanation from 0:46 and I would recommend anyone who is newer in pvp to equip Pearl Shield Talisman and Greatshield Talisman but if you are experienced PvP player then no need to do that.
I also recommend any player who has high arcane to add cold affinity to this than than using Grease but if you have low Arcane then do not add any affinity. Just do your math to see which one has the highest damage and go with that i.e Standard, Heavy, Keen or Quality.
Cold affinity is not affected by Arcane

This thing has block frames baked into all of its attack animations. Even the guard counter attack has block frames.

any one find any fun combos with using this in the right hand and somthing offhand? its right hand move set is kinda nice charge attacks block at start and regular r1s block at the end/recovery. IDK how much hyper armour that has? or if it acts well enough as psudo hyper armour. so fast offhand? parry tool/weapon? parry shield? hyper armour offhand?

Nothing will be outright broken to scale of what THORNS STILL IS! Abs bs to still have to get one shot by it when invading which is already a 1v3 by default (full Verdi and the standers faith buffs do sweet fa to stop the crap)

@@Zweilvish give it time. What set it off was how many complaints were sent to fromsoft about ROB. They got so frustrated they nerfed it into the ground. Raksasha’s great katana was going to have an AOE effect like ROB but they didn’t want to go through that again. The souls community expanded but with that came a lot of crybabies that ruined certain things for the rest of us.
