@SALAZAR It's not that easy. Jack is one of the most skilled swordsman in the movies. He held his own against Davy Jones pretty well. Don't blame the writing. Thanos could have easily killed the Avengers in Infinity War if he used the stones more often, but he didn't.

I pretend the franchise ended at World's End. It felt right. The final battle in that movie is so great and the character arcs wrap up nicely. The movies needed all three main characters of :Jack, Will, and Elizabeth to feel complete.

@SALAZAR definitely the first one is like you going into the shower and your body adjusting to the temperature, the second is the perfect shower, while the third is coming out to find yourself cold and exposed although you have a towel (climax) at the the end of it.
yeah third is my favourite but if I had to be objective I would put him right after first movie. but even objectively speaking it can arguably be the best one. the difference between them is so little.
Gore Verbinski’s direction really made the first three pirates movies work so well. His visual style and dark but still goofy tone really worked. That’s what’s been missing from the fourth and fifth movies.

I would rate Dead Man's Chest even higher than the first movie. Yeah the whole thing on the cannibal island was a bit pointless (even when it was incredibly fun to watch imo) but aside from that little trip the structure of the movie is almost perfect.
Dead mans chest and at world ends was disney's first infinity war/ENDGAME... It's really similar.. the stakes, the endings, the race and ESPECIALLY the handling of multiple characters over multiple locations and motivations all culminating into the thanos vs avengers fight- I mean pirates vcs Davy Jones lol
That's a really good point. Despite feeling looser in the plot than Infinity War and Endgame, Dead Man's Chest and At World's End work so well together and feel like Part 1 and Part 2 films with that part of the franchise.
@@camdencoblentz3245 that's the thing, it feels looser sometimes but it does more "different", it tries more stuff. Multiple complex storylines that overlap and have surprising payoffs. Everybody turns on everybody so it's so unpredictable when compared to the whole everyone vs Thanos thing. I LOVE endgame but if you watch it without the "fan eyes" it's really predictable lol, and that's not completely bad, but at world's end and especially dead men's chest you can't predict anything cause everyone is in for for their own gain lol

@SALAZAR I’d have to Disagree, the Flying Dutchman only had the element of surprise and the nose canons on its side neither of which really give it an Edge, the silent Mary on the other hand is extremely op, the Queen Anne’s revenge is nothing special other than the Flamethrowers on the nose of the ship which wouldn’t make a difference in a fight either, Blackbeard’s Sword is what makes the ship powerful not the ship itself, but the black Pearl is supernaturally fast which makes it a lot more manoeuvrable
Imo the top 5 would probably be something like 5: Interceptor 4: Pearl 3: Queen Ann's Revenge 2: Dauntless 1: Flying Dutchman The dauntless would be thousands of tiers above the others if magic wasnt taken into consideration though I dont know about the ships in the 5th movie and I dont care and I dont acknowledge that film's existance
The 2nd and 3rd installment is the best. They could be treated as one already because they were filmed together. Rich in culture, and lots of happenings and fun fights.
On Stranger Tides is one of my personal favorites. It has the best mermaid scene EVER. The “Jolly Sailor Bold” scene captures everything essential to how mermaids should be onscreen. Intriguing, yet eerie. Beautiful, yet frightening. Magical, yet dangerous. Graceful, yet vicious. The spooky lighting, the enticing soundtrack, the effects on their tails, all fantastic
there's so many great lines from the first 3 like "cruel is just a matter of perspective" "life is cruel why should the after life be any different? " " you have a chance to do the right, you'll discover something, that you're a good man" and also the dynamic between jack, elizabeth, barbossa,will and davy jones was great. Truly underrated films (my fave series tho)
THIS WAS SO VALIDATING TO WATCH! It literally followed my ranking of the films exactly, except CotPB and DMC are both tied for first place in my esteem.
Unpopular opinion: At World’s End is the best of the “Pirates” film. The film quickly establishes itself in the open hanging scene as the “do-or-die” finale of the trilogy. What results is pure epic fun cinema. An insanely incredible final battle, some great artistic visuals and imagery, darker in tone, THE BEST SCORE OF THE SERIES and one of Hans Zimmer’s top finest. At World’s End is my personal favorite.

At worlds end was the best because it had the best action scenes,it included all the characters for example jack,will,barbossa,Elizabeth,Davy jones and beckett not to forget sao feng,ragetti,pintel and Gibbs,the third was the best because it felt like everyone was in the movie which is obviously a good thing.
Dead Man's chest is the best ! At World's End is too long movie and the action is not enough, there was too much talking, some not so useful scenes, and that tired me personally. The tone was too serious, kind depressing in some parts and excitment was missing. Dead Man's chest has the righ blend of seriousness and humor, Davy Jones was the best villain, we saw Kraken, the score was thrilling, the action is more and better, the pace is stronger and the suspense was more !
I found "on stranger tides" to be a pretty good movie. People found it bad but I find it interesting. See, its got new characters in it yet the iconic characters are still there. Captain Sparrow, Barbossa and Jackie's father. I'd say; 1; Curse of the black pearl 2; On stranger Tides. 3; At worlds end 4; Dead mans chest 5: whatever the hell the fifth movie is calledm
They're very similar. Both were corrupted by love which unleashed their evil side. Both were menacing looking monsters but deep down just broken men with a broken heart.
For me dead mans chest is the absolute best. I was too young to really be around the first release so it was also the first entry I remember coming out. Bias aside, I truly believe everything about that movie is iconic. I recently rewatched the first movie with my gf and it felt a lot more dated than the second one
I would honestly go back in time and slap critics in their faces for the ignorant reviews they gave 2 and 3. It's like the very people who are supposed to appreciate the details and depth of these movies are the ones who ignore everything because it's no different to them than a shallow action movie.
For me, the 3rd movie is my favorite, due to the funny moments, epic sword fight scenes, killing off certain characters that shouldn't have died too soon (Norrington) ship battles, and how ironic the ending was. Will being killed by the same sword he forged in the first movie for Norrington's promotion and Beckett being killed by the dutchman.
Dead Man's Chest Is definitely my favorite of the franchise. Honestly the first three movies are some of my favorite movies of all time. I consider them a trilogy, and the fourth and fifth movie are just spin off Jack Sparrow movies.
Dude, On Stranger Tides is my favorite. I loved the ending, the soundtrack was superb, and the action scenes were amazing. I hated Dead Men Tell No Tails, because I couldn’t seem to get myself too into the film, mostly because it just felt too extra in every way. It just kind of sucked to watch, for some reason.
I love all the POTC movies. I just love ridiculous adventure movies and they hit all the right notes for me. My favorite of the series is tied between the first two. I can never pick between them.
I love all of these movies, if I HAVE to pick a favorite, it will be Dead Man Tell No Tales. I just loved the fact that Will and Elizabeth Turner returned to the fifth film. I really hope there’s a sixth film, and it better have Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley returning once more as Will and Elizabeth.
I love them all purely because of johnny depp and I want the forthcoming potc to have johnny depp back full time as captain jack sparrow - without him playing the full lead role there's no reason to spend money on it!!!
My opinion: 5: at stranger tides 4: Salazar’s revenge/dead men tell on tales 3: The curse of the black pearl 2: At worlds end 1: Dead man’s chest (I really like this one, and I think it has so many of the iconic moments from the franchise. Whenever I think back on POTC it’s always the cannibal island, the meeting between will and bootstrap, and the fight between jack, will and James which stands out in my opinion. And I think the way that “dead man chest” and “at worlds end” combines into one long story is amazing, which also makes those two movies a bit better than the others, since they don’t really have the united story. But there’s no doubt that the first 3 movies are way better, no matter which one you prefer!

At worlds end was the best because it had the best action scenes,it included all the characters for example jack,will,barbossa,Elizabeth,Davy jones and beckett not to forget sao feng,ragetti,pintel and Gibbs,the third was the best because it felt like everyone was in the movie which is obviously a good thing.
COTBP is the best in my opinion but At Worlds End is my favorite one. At Worlds End is one of the greatest Disney movies of all time though.
Dead Man's chest is the best ! At World's End is too long movie and the action is not enough, there was too much talking, some not so useful scenes, and that tired me personally. The tone was too serious, kind depressing in some parts and excitment was missing. Dead Man's chest has the righ blend of seriousness and humor, Davy Jones was the best villain, we saw Kraken, the score was thrilling, the action is more and better, the pace is stronger and the suspense was more !

I found "on stranger tides" to be a pretty good movie. People found it bad but I find it interesting. See, its got new characters in it yet the iconic characters are still there. Captain Sparrow, Barbossa and Jackie's father.

They're very similar. Both were corrupted by love which unleashed their evil side. Both were menacing looking monsters but deep down just broken men with a broken heart.

For me dead mans chest is the absolute best. I was too young to really be around the first release so it was also the first entry I remember coming out. Bias aside, I truly believe everything about that movie is iconic. I recently rewatched the first movie with my gf and it felt a lot more dated than the second one
I would honestly go back in time and slap critics in their faces for the ignorant reviews they gave 2 and 3. It's like the very people who are supposed to appreciate the details and depth of these movies are the ones who ignore everything because it's no different to them than a shallow action movie.
For me, the 3rd movie is my favorite, due to the funny moments, epic sword fight scenes, killing off certain characters that shouldn't have died too soon (Norrington) ship battles, and how ironic the ending was. Will being killed by the same sword he forged in the first movie for Norrington's promotion and Beckett being killed by the dutchman.
I just found out that David Bailie, the guy who played Cotton, died a couple months ago. RIP

Dead Man's Chest Is definitely my favorite of the franchise. Honestly the first three movies are some of my favorite movies of all time. I consider them a trilogy, and the fourth and fifth movie are just spin off Jack Sparrow movies.

Dude, On Stranger Tides is my favorite. I loved the ending, the soundtrack was superb, and the action scenes were amazing. I hated Dead Men Tell No Tails, because I couldn’t seem to get myself too into the film, mostly because it just felt too extra in every way. It just kind of sucked to watch, for some reason.
The first movie is easily the best one. It wasn’t too complicated and it wasn’t boring. It’s basically the only one I can rewatch
Though many don't like this franchise like before, I still love this franchise and is one of my favourite.

I love all of these movies, if I HAVE to pick a favorite, it will be Dead Man Tell No Tales. I just loved the fact that Will and Elizabeth Turner returned to the fifth film. I really hope there’s a sixth film, and it better have Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley returning once more as Will and Elizabeth.

(I really like this one, and I think it has so many of the iconic moments from the franchise. Whenever I think back on POTC it’s always the cannibal island, the meeting between will and bootstrap, and the fight between jack, will and James which stands out in my opinion. And I think the way that “dead man chest” and “at worlds end” combines into one long story is amazing, which also makes those two movies a bit better than the others, since they don’t really have the united story. But there’s no doubt that the first 3 movies are way better, no matter which one you prefer!
