- This is step one showing how a stone in place sand casting is set up before metal is poured. Clay used is Red Clay, a high fat super fine clay made in a foundry near Holland. Tools are designed and made by DIY Castings at www.diycastings.com. I'll show pouring metal in the next video.
Based on the Red Clay Casting™ method by Craig Dabler. Clay brand used - Red Clay.
I have been watching a lot of red clay casting videos, yours is literally the best I’ve ever seen! Thanks.
This is kind of you.
Thank you so much for creating this video!
Thanks Craig.
Thanks for the video, I must add notches to the rim of my flask to let air escape, much easier than pushing lots of holes through the clay.
Nicely Done. Easy to understand.
Thank you!
Thanks for this , really appreciate the guidance. 👍😊
Thank you 🙏
What is the name of the material used in the molds? Is it normal sand or a special material?
I'm new to pouring. Every time I "pound" the clay into the mold, the clay "cracks" in certain places. It usually doesn't crack or split, where I was using the hammer. When I add more clay, it still happens. Is it possible I'm pounding too hard on the hammer? Thank you in advance.
Stop hammering and just push it in with a dowel or similar.
@@craigdabler-thediycastings7511 Thank you.
May I ask where you bought the wax replica of the ring shape? Or did you make it?
I carved it, thanks.
@@craigdabler-thediycastings7511 Omg!! 😊 Thank you so much for your reply! 🙏 That is so amazing!! Seems like it would take you hours to do all of that!
@@moniquejohnson1822 I've carved hundreds so they get easy with practice.
