Nicely done, great video with many important tips. I’ve used the Mighty Mule 500 series driving a large farm gate for about 12 years with very few issues. Two of the more important points in this video are use plenty of concrete in the bottom with a large support post. Also important is the arm mounting angle pointed out at 5:45 in the video. The two issues I’ve had were both revolution counter boards in the arm. Retail they are $50 bucks, but you can find them on Amazon for about $15. Using installation practices like in this video will result in many years of trouble free service.

I have the same gate. Installing tomorrow or Monday. Can you just move the opening arm up towards the top and attach it to that horizontal round tube instead of buying the unistrut?

If you can attach to the brackets securely to the tube above then yes.
I have always tried to attach to the center of the gate so it would pull evenly. there is a large amount of torque from the opener and if there is a weak joint it will find it. good luck

    Good video. Thank you.
However, I must warn people to NOT buy a Mighty Mule opener.

I will say not all mighty mule openers are made the same, I dont use the ones that require a 12v marine battery to operate. The other units like the one in the video I like and have used for years with no issues.
