Gt-1000 is the unsung hero, no one talks about this shoe, despite it has good stability, good cushioning and excellent build quality. I have many miles in my 1,5 year old pair.
Thanks for this great review. Like you, I'm mostly a neutral runner (Cumulus & Ghost). But since the newer Gel-Cumulus versions have gotten so super squishy soft, I think a pair of GT 1000's will be on my feet soon.
I just ordered this on a clearance sale for 50 EUR, wondering how this shoe is gonna treat me, compared to my Gel-Glyde 3 MX (basically a mesh knit-upper GT-2000 8 with a door-to-trail sole), and my Gel-Kayano 28, both of which have been good for me.
Good detail video. Now my question would be . I have heal spur which one do you recommend the 1000 GT or the kayano 28. Not really a runner. Just walker and working out/
With the major changes that were done to the GT-2000, do you still think it is more stable than the GT-1000? Seems to me they switched these models up and moved the GT-2000 closer to a neutral shoe. What are your thoughts?
Hi there, the GT-1000 provides support in the midsole. The insole is pretty regular. But you do get insoles from brands like sofsol that come with added support
😂 That Nimbus Gel pod is so small. Clearly only there for visibility on the underside of the shoe…Disappointing & makes me lose a little bit of respect for ASICS.
Always been my best running shoe, thanks heaps for reviewing the latest version.

I wear mine as casual day to day shoes but I’m going to start running sprints in mine. Are they good for 5 mile + runs?
I had a pair of the GT 1000 4 about 7 years ago. Most comfortable Asics I have ever had!

I'd like to know the answer to this question also.

Definitely more stable than the GT-1000, but as you say the GT-2000 has become less aggressive this season and more suitable for wider audience.
Great review! Thank you!
These are perfect for work because they came in white
Neat looking shoe!
Can I use this shoes for running and the gym? Thanks
I bought and Very curious about
I have flat foot overpronation I'm confused which one will be good for my daily walking gt ,1000...-9-10-11 model
Or gt 2000 ?
GT-2000 = more cushioning and more stable, GT-1000 = lighter, less cushioned and mild stability. Just depends what you're looking for
@@runningshoegeek for my daily walking use gt 1000 will sufficient
I'm not a runner
Hi..is the 1000 11 suitable for long run like HM & FM?
Are these the same width as V. 10? OR have they gotten narrower like the GT2000?
Has also gotten narrower over the years, but width the same from v10 to v11.
Outstanding review
Glad you liked it!
HI! Do you think GT 1000 Series admit an orthopedical insole for flat foot? Thanks!

ASICS GEL EXCITE 8 SHOES good for long distance running and marathon?
I am 94kg and height 6 ft, which shoe is better
Kayano
Hello my height and weight is 178cm 59kg with slightly flat feet I run 5km everyday on trendmill you recommend gt 1000 11 or gt 2000 10?thank you
GT-1000 suits a lighter runner and offers milder support, so probably the safer bet for you :)
I’m not fond of the very high heel
i have a flat feet is this shoe suitable for me?
I do, the gt series is my #1 for over 10 years
@@noahhurley-abelew6536 you have a flat feet too?
Yes it is. Although GT-2000 probably better bet if you're need extra support

You’re nobody bro, not a dent on Asics revenue. Runners still buys they shoes, they’re the best. You’re nobody bro.
The outside gel makes your ankle tilt outward instead of inward ( called stability shoe )
Saucony is awesome
Good
