We are so excited to have been in India for Diwali, and we are thrilled to catch you up on our journey through Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, and now Mumbai over the past couple of weeks. We will continue our adventures through India until March 2025, so there is much more to come. Until then, happy Diwali and thank you for sharing your culture with us ❤

1:06 Yes, It is an extremely important part of Diwali Celebration…During these festive times, the family comes together to help each other in cleaning out every space of the house, dusting, painting, decorating etc…This is done because the Diwali night is the most darkest night i.e, New moon or Amavasya and 2 important gods are worshipped on that day…Ganesh & Laxmi…The Goddess of wealth Laxmi come down to earth on this particular darkest night to bless the people with good fortune, wealth….& she is welcomed in a cleaned & decorated house….we pray to her that for whole year she resides with us in the form of blessings….and also Ganesh, The god of knowledge is also worshipped to gives us the knowledge on how to manage this wealth as wealth without knowledge is disaster…..

Yass!! you made it to Mumbai, you were at the right place on the right time; its so fun, and once in a lifetime experience to watch diwali fireworks in Shivaji Park; Mumbai is the place to be if you want to experience real Diwali; Diwali in Maharashtra state, is way different than north, east and south India; no regrets now, Happy Diwali. you made it.
btw, would have loved to see you both in traditional dress like saree, kurta, etc.
