One tip for leveling piloting, you can use the flight simulation in the Vanguard building to farm the ship kills
I assume you need to do the quest to join them first?
@@47CryXMAit’s the first quest.
...and here we go! Something to watch about Starfield while waiting a few more hours for Starfield.
This
Also... Starfield.
@@Jsephusall our days, weeks, months, years, birthright has been Starfield before release. The anticipation…and now…it’s THE Starfield
I can't wait for the Thirst/Hunger survival mods for this game!!!
@@phantomfox4317 I’m not a big fan of survival mechanics, but the amount of food and drink items make me wonder why that isn’t a difficulty option at launch.
Thank you for letting us know a good stopping spot for doing sidequests. So important for Bethesda games.
Any details on why? Is it like a point of no return and the game ends? Or is a faction wiped out? etc..
Don't you trust him on his word? I do 🙂.
no I have no idea who this guy is and if his worries correlate with mine@@rogadip
@@skarro608 and all Bethesda games some choices you make have consequences in the long run, but she won’t be coming until like a Mission’s later or something like that. You realized oh shit that side quest I made a decision that I couldn’t fall back on stuff like that.
@@skarro608 pull out to galaxy map and look at the planet enemy levels… Theres a Good divide there where you'll need not just higher levels of your char, skills, etc, but also your ship needs to be better the starter.
if you go through the vanguard recruitment but don't join you can still use the simulator and it counts towards all those tech skills for piloting, lasers, ballistics and missiles.
Small caveat to that suggestion. Unless you are definitely planning to join that faction, make sure in the simulation you stop before you hit rank 6. Stop at rank 4 or 5. Let yourself die. Exit the sim, rinse and repeat with the new simulation and keep putting your experience up until you're ready for all ranks in piloting.
@@joshuacrI'm pretty sure you can just go back down and keep doing the simulator.
@@joshuacr If you do all 6 tiers you get credit for killing 15 ships. You can Exit Simulator and immediately go back in and it will reset for another 15 kills. If you stash 4 skill points you can go from 0 in piloting to Rank 4 in 4 runs. You can end your first run prematurely once you have the 5 kills. You can't allocate skill points inside the simulator.
Finally some useful information rather then rehashing of the same clips from direct. bravo. bravo.
0:56 love the way that huge chunk of asteroid just bounces off the front of the ship like a billiard ball. lol
Bro, it looks better than the trailers!!!
It definitely doesn't, but it doesnt look bad at all
Really appreciate helpful tips that don't spoil anything
I have a tip! on planets with hand crafted content you can find magazines that will give you a permanent boost on pick up. I found one on a outpost near New Atlantis at an outpost that was hostile. Mag gave perm 1% grav jump fuel consumption reduction and that is just 1 example.
This is a great tip for skill stat boost and it does happen by paying attention when raiding any facility of any kind for “Magazines” as in book magazines, not ammo magazines. You have to keep them in inventory though. They don’t weight anything for mass. Just always be on the lookout for flashy covered magazines raiding bay facility. I myself have found three for mining from such facilities.
Magazines were also found in Bethesda's 'Fallout 4' and similar series.
An additional bonus may apply if you get all in the set for certain magazines.
@@ardentdfender4116Do you have to keep them in inv? I thought they were permanent? Doh. Better go find them. I think I’ve stored them in the safe at the Constellation house.
Finally got started. Blown away by the depth and how many directions a player can go. Almost lost at the beginning.
Thats a good thing. Im sure your perspective will grow as you continue.
It is pretty immersive but x4 has it beat, if you can get past the huge learning curve
@@huntersmark917once you get past 20 hours it begins to get easier. Your results may vary.
@@huntersmark917 Why are you even trying to compare two entirely different games? X4 is a space/empire simulator, this is a bethesda story driven game. Their only comparison is they're both revolving around space. X4 is a fucking amazing game, but it has no reason to be compared to any of this. Same with No mans sky or star citizen.
I've been waiting for this video, as I'm a super overthinker at the start of Bethesda game. Thank you for this.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@Dantics so whats max size ship we can build?
How many different ladies are there for us to pick from to marry?
@@DanticsI had to watch that twice, just to not get distracted by all the footage. It was super useful to an overthinker like me.
I was about to watch it a third time, then you posted a new video. Lol, Now I have to go run and watch that one too. 😂
Love this, such a great spoiler free vid with lots of useful stuff to remember!
Been watching these videos all day in anticipation and your video was the most helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful, and very thankful you got something out of it!
Biggest tip I came across, kills in the simulator count towards ship kills for the challanges, so just rinse and repeat the sim for an hour and unlock them all (at the MAST buidling and need to join vanguard)
Nice! This was well done and you answered the issue I was having with removing everything from my companion and finding them fighting barehanded... Instant sub.
Thanks for all the great beginning knowledge. I can't wait to get the game and start using all this knowledge.
Getting the 'Annoying Fan' perk can be great. He can carry a lot of stuff and gifts you items. He just talks a lot, but also makes a great target distraction for the enemies.
I won't go into specifics but if you really can't stand him anymore there are a few things you could say that will no longer make an essential and you could kill him off if you so wish, you savage!
you don't need to go to the key to sell contraband without shielded cargo, you can go to the wolf system, right next to alpha centauri, and sell it there from lvl 1 at the space station.
You absolutely can. I'm not 100% certain if you get better prices at one or the other, but you certainly can go to Wolf without a scan.
@@joshuacr Yes I uhhh, already said that...
Great video, appreciate the tips and lack of spoilers!
Can't wait to get started tonight!
Beat tips I’ve seen . I have 30 hours played and learned a lot
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed them
The way you have described everything so far, is exactly 100% how I enjoy playing games and would have made a game too, if I were rich and had the money to invest in a gaming studio. Sounds like I'm going to enjoy this game in it's entirety and for years to come.
Same. All of your words.
For storage issues, if you place items into containers in the ship, then visit a ship customization agent, make any changes, even just moving a ship module away and back, then save the change, all of the items in the chest will be moved to the ship's inventory (at no penalty). Be warned, this also includes the general "clutter" you get for have a specific module installed on the ship!
This is a real issue, as I found my Misc. Section was full of trash, that nearly weighed 100 units...
Luckily, you can access the ship's inventory from any shop screen. Figuring this out was a Godsend as it means you don't need to carry everything around.
@@MandalorianRevan Yeah, I just empty the hold off the debris every few landings. Just makes it rough when I want to go mining in my ship lol
Seems the decor gets knocked loose in space combat? I keep finding the junk strewn across the floors. So I vend the misc with a series of clicks. The spaceport trade authority terminals 5k cr is finally good for something! Lol.
Super Excited to dump the next few days into this game. Thankyou for the tips!!!
I do wanna point out a little issue with G2A, often the keys acquired there are not legally acquired. I'm not here to bash anyone who does buy it via there (quite frankly games are expensive and not everyone can afford to throw 60$ at every game they see) but if you can spare the extra bucks do actually buy from a certified retailer.
Surprised he doesnt know that. No way do most people obtain game keys on the cheap and able to resell at a cheaper price.
@@Zer0Mood He probably knows, but you know.. everyone has a price..
Look I'm not here to argue provenance is legitimate or not, but I am saying that hypothetically turns out something you got is illegal and the company finds out your key's going to be deactivated no matter what. If you are doing something make sure you have a guarantee that is going to be valid because valve is not very nice about this.
Great video, already thinking about the character start I want, this is helpful
Brilliant video. I have been hanging out for this game for ever. THank you for fiving us a great "heads up" on so many great thiings to look out for. I have subscribed but am now seriously considering Joining as well.
Best video I've seen so far. Well done!
You videos are not as frequent as others but the quality is worth it. Thanks for the repair the eye info. I got burned when I didn't say whatever you had to with Johnny from CyberPunk :(
What happens if you do repair the eye first..?
Heck yeah man, awesome video!
First person to mention asteroid mining. Love to hear it.
Thanks, just started playing this morning.
The scanner will also highlight items you can interact with or pick up, including downed enemies. Very useful for finding bodies of kills from long range
@TELE_GRAM-Dantics you need to stop right now or I will personally make sure that every single comment you make is countered. Wasting all your time.
FYI I noticed the Vanguard simulator counts toward your piloting skill. Just keep running the simulator over and over. I never could get past tier 4 but that is about 5 ships a play through.
That's because you need to hack the simulator to get past level 4.
@@Berelore ...interesting. I got to lvl 5 (once) while using it to rank the pilot skill without any hack. I don't know what you mean w/hack it yet... or how...
While you can do the kobayashi maneuver and hack the system to win a higher rank, you can do it without cheating. The problem is if you hit rank six, that is as high as you can go and you are just been locked into that faction whether you want to sign up or not.
Correction: ALL Traders on The Key are Fences which accept stolen and contraband goods. This is especially valuable because the Key has some 30k+ credits worth of vendors to sell to.
A few more tips:
You can remove the Stolen tag from stolen goods by selling them to a fence and buying them back with the "Buy back" option.
If you "buy back" an item sold from your ship's inventory, it's added to YOUR inventory. Meaning you can use vendors to retrieve an item from your ship if you sell it then buy back it.
If you're not interested in outpost making and just want materials to upgrade weapons, it's more practical to buy materials as you need them instead of hording them in your cargo hold. Especially early on when your cargo hold capacity is limited and/or comes at a substantial cost to your ship.
In the Lodge (Constellation HQ), there is an infinite capacity safe you can safely store items in. It's on the second floor, in your personal room (from the stairs, second door, follow the hallway, then left into the second door on the left). This is very valuable for things you want to keep long term.
The prefixes "Calibrated," "Refined," "Advanced," or "Superior" denote the strength of a piece of equipment to its peers. A Refined Eon is stronger than a Calibrated Eon, which is stronger than an Eon without a prefix.
The Broken Constellation Helmet is objectively the best helmet in the game and there's no reason to use anything other than it.
Thanks, this is exactly the type of video I'd hope you'd release right before launch.
I like your design. Reminds me of a Klingon bird of prey. Great tips dude.
You are the first to realize that's what I loosely based it off!
@@Dantics Once I get more money gonna build your ship, the Firefly and the pre-Disney Falcon and some others.
Saw a 1911 in the video, I’m sold
Thanks bro! I was just searching for how to get Sarah to eqip & use stuff. I guess I took her gear and sold it, thinking she would pick something from what I left in her inv. Got it now. Thanks!
I’m part of the fleet and walked into a cave that this girl was in that I needed to help. She was killing crimsons upon arrival but as soon as I showed up we both just walked through the mission unscathed because I’m banded with them. So immersive
Can't wait to play it!
Thank you there were some good tips in there
7 hours to go!! I am beyond excited!
Thank you for the tips!
I will be playing 8pm tonight. Please keep up the videos. Would love a legendary gear series, how to get them and stuff.
I wish they bought it out earlier so people from the uk didn’t have to wait till 1am..
@@Ben-ew7zo Its a global release so not much they can do about that.

I am definitely using that storage trick.
Looks amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can't wait to play this game.
Thank you for actually posting something useful. I’m not really interested in listening to a review for a game I’m already committed to playing.
stopping point is huge and the heads up about no stealth unless you have a point in it
Already looking sick asf
That is a badass looking ship!!!
Great info!
Thank you, I learned a lot. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting and useful video 👍
Huge success. For a free to play game. Yup. Ya nailed it me son.
Great tips ! Thanks for sharing, I have so many videos saved I better start reviewing now or I'll be up 2 days trying 😂
The ship building reminds me of Kingdom Hearts gummi ship building expect more sophisticated.
And I appreciate Starfield is free for game pass owner.
Well, as free as the monthly or multiple monthly or annual cost of gamepass but no additional charge.
Interesting , Thank You.
You are welcome!
Liked and subbed. See you down the Starfield road.
A little early I’m pretty sure. Naughty naughty
shut up narc 😂
What do you mean a little early?
Starfield had early access 💀
Exactly
Oh giggity, the Starfield reviews and tips are starting to emerge on youtube.
Very good tips. Not the same old ones.
Thank you!
i cant wait for this game
Great vid
I'm into the Role part of the RPG, so I pick certain limitations for my character, like not stealing anything that's marked as owned, not so much as touching contraband (I wish we had somewhere to turn it in, though, it feels wrong just leaving it there!), never killing an innocent, not doing goofy things like having my companion run around in a swimsuit, and so on. Just self limitations to make things more challenging and interesting for the character's personality and morals. No glitch abusing either, that's just cheesy.
Lots a good tips thanks
Hoarding got real, stack it in a corner, oh i ment the other corner that ones full now😅
Cheers bro 😎
lol, that subtle hint at the end.
For easier leveling of piloting using the simulation in the Vanguard MAST building , even after you past your addmition to the Vanguard counts as ships destroyed for the piloting challenge.
haha, nice one!
Came out yesterday. Streamers: I've already put hundred and thousand of hours into the game
A lot of people have had review codes for about 3 weeks
5 days of early access too, technically 120 just in early access. Possible, but not probable. I think i have 40 or so hrs and just hit lvl 11 and haven't done Old Friends yet.
@@oldman1973 I’m at like 45 and lvl 13… if I had a couple weeks and it was my full time job I could definitely get to 100 no problem
@@Fetidaf hours, or level? LOL... I just checked my "play time" a little while ago and it shows 50hrs and the last thing I got was the lvl 10 achievement, I'm disabled and unable to work, so I have the time, I just lack the ability to sit for hours on end at the PC doing anything, so even with my limited ability I've got 50hrs.
@@oldman1973 45 hours and level 13
Great video, i cant write anymore now, have to go and play Starfield.
There's a safe in your room in the Lodge. It has no limit, so just stuff your rainy day stuff in there until it's time to use it.
You can use any and all your companions for added inventory management space. You can find more efficient ways to do so when you have Vasco and another companion. Because inventory management can become a pain taking up so much time to manage. Not including Vasco I had 3 other companions on the starter ship all at same time. It just happened by accident but there were there for some time. Couldn’t leave one stranded on a planet, so just asked him to come along. Then picked up another on another planet while had another companion on the same mission and then asked them to join up. But then I had left the other companion on the ship. It was only after I looked around and realized I had 4 companions total on my ship including Vasco and was like dang. Another huge tip is to offload much the Resource you collect off ship. In beginning the Security Safe at lodge can be useful to store it all. You be surprised just how much space hoarding resources take up.
In the room they give you @ Constellation... there is a safe which has no item limit. It doesn't attach to any crafting or anything else tho... I'm working on if it's worth figuring how to hump items over to it or not (mostly crafting stuff).
I will see your two comments and raise you one better. In constellation basement where you have all of those crafting machines and a certain mannequin in a glass case, those containers also hold unlimited items. If you're really nervous about a nerf change, just keep the unlimited resources in the item boxes next to the crafting machines.
A REVIEW POGGERS
great video with tips, I giggled a bit about Marg. That's like the advice, "Don't go to Vegas with your wife and have fun"
Thanks!!
I recommend re-mapping get up from seat in ship mode.
Mass Effect Andromeda was the last space type game I played but this is on fire🔥🔥
thats a cool red ship my dude
great video
Not sure if this is mentioned yet but you can simply sell your stolen items then immediately buy them back, it will remove the 'stolen' mark on the item. This way you cant accidentally lose them when caught. Also, to combat the storage shortage for items, simply just chuck everything in the safe in the Lodge, it has no mass limit so can be used as infinite storage space. And last tip I have is to have your companion wait somewhere and then go do the thing they most likely will approve of, there shouldnt be any repercussions that way but I can't say for 100% if this is true.
The photo mode camera has a free camera mode which you can use as a scouting drone excellent for stealth of seeing what is above you for a braids eye view or to see if the is any on a roof or high rock that's awkward to boost pack up.
appreciated 😉
Good video
That’s a lot of good info! Thank went as far as character creation and making it to the first planet. I might just make another character and pick the wanted trait for the loot and ships.
Got the game early 3 days ago. I'm 23hrs in and this video is really good and doesn't give up any spoilers! I learned at least 4 things (better pack mules lol), and I can't wait to have all kinds of stuff on the floor of my ship lol! Thanks Dantics, really great video.
If you open your inventory while on board your ship, you'll have an option to cycle to the ship inventory which is very helpful when you just need an item or two and pop back out
You don't need to be on the ship, you can be outside it and near it too
@@diablotry5154I believe the maximum range is 250 before no longer is accessible is just viewable
thanks man
currently unpacking starfield while watching this video, so glad I don't work tomorrow!
if you need to kill ships for progress, go to jemison and join Vanguard, their piloting test adds kills, just do as much as you can handle and exit, start again, carry on until you complete it and then exit and assign your point, i think i was level 8 when i had access to class C ships
if you need to do stealth kills/damage for progress, go to the clinic on jemison and stealth behind the doctor and stab him, make sure you have the UC blade or another weapon that does a power attack stab as it gives the best reach, then stab, stab, stab until you've done all you need, just make sure to let him stacnd back up and you to be hidden again before stabbing again, he cant be killed and as long as your hidden, no bounty
You can sneak without the skill but it is massively ineffective. You can also lockpick novice locks with no skill
Best Submission HERE! 5 hours to go!
2:49 Also, you can use the Trade Authority kiosks available next to every major spaceport to sell your stolen goods and then repurchase them using "Buy Back" for the same price, thereby removing the "stolen" tag from your items.
While I was positive they used to work this way, you cannot sell contraband into a kiosk. You can only sell them at an actual shop.
As if needed hyping up even more. Anyone else took tomorrow off work? Me too. You talk about this game with as much passion as you do mass effect and mass effect is my fave game. I hope this replaces it.
I would actually recommend not stopping the main storyline and completing it first.
In the UC Vanguard, when you’re doing the pilot simulation every ship you kill count towards your pilot license I was lucky enough to have three skill points available when I went in there so I was able to go all the way to rank for in about 30 minutes and if you really want to cheese it just put the game on very easy
