most of my tones (other than in between and denial which were done in studio) come from the amplitube plugin, i love the fender range and use a bunch of those (the supersonic one)
guitar used again a lot of fenders, i used a custom strat a LOT, i borrowed Ash's custom tele - then i also have an epiphone casino for fatter rhythm sounds

i love how at 34:26 you talk about his soft vocals but then it immediately changes pace and the way he starts dancing while youre just shocked 😭i just find it funny how it goes from james calmly singing to him dancing around in the 360 cam. loved this video
You had the same reaction as me to In Between!!! I literally wanted to scream when I heard the second time of the chorus-it’s like hypnotic and sad and beautiful and magical (and every in between, hah) and it sounds absolutely incredible!! I loved your analysis and commentary-you’ve got another sub :)
I'm seeing James live in February, I can't wait to hear all of these amazing songs live with a crowd, I can already imagine all the phone flashlights with some of the slower songs ;D

Matt Gavin, incredibly brilliant musician plays most of the lead guitar in this album.
you should check out the live version of Slow Down! they changed it up and made it a bit rocky to play live and i really like it

James said that so long was actually his least favourite on the album. Which is cool because he thought it was going to be the best thing he'd ever written.

I just want to say that I really respect Sam, he's inspried me to even join a band myself now and I've been making bass covers of James' songs and Sam even helped me with some :)

@@NikkuMusic He's often sharing your videos with us, he loves seeing you and other musicians covering his bass, what's funny is it wasn't that long ago he was doing that, playing along to RUclips basslines.
It's rare to give me full body chills consistently but there's just something in his music that gets me

I was lucky enough to hear Don’t Blame Me AND The Other Side live when he came to Sydney before he released the album and now getting to listen to them on Spotify on repeat is truly a blessing!!! Also I love your videos. I love hearing your opinions on some of my favourite songs!!!

7:55 you say you are unsure as to what "going postal at the party" means. "going postal" just means to get uncontrollably angry. i looked it up and this is everything i found about the song
Going Postal At The Party is the third track from James Marriott’s mercurial debut album Are We There Yet?. James has admitted to quitting drinking in March 2022, and often promotes being sober on his his social platforms. Presumably autobiographical, the song depicts the protagonist in the process of detaching and moving on from social situations and relationships, and confronts feeling of rage, abandonment and dissatisfaction.

I've been so excited to see what you thought of the album! It's such a solid album all around
You had about the same reaction to In Between that I did lol. I don't think I can pick remotely a favorite song but that one was immediately up there for me when I heard it! The production is great and those first lines of the chorus just really stuck to me. I love how varied the album is while still all the songs feeling like they fit together. There are so many cool details and lyrics that I love throughout, but I especially adore that little melodic callback in White Noise to So Long. "Yeah, no this song hurts" saaame lmao
What’s the connection to So Long?
@@katiep3820 It's just a little bit of the melody in the chorus of each song is really similar. Specifically on the lines "make this place my home" in So Long and "on your own in the end" in White Noise!
I'd bankrupt myself to listen to denial for the first time and have the same reaction as this man

these videos are amazing and 100% bingeable, i honestly was overwhelmed when these released so there was alot to listen to, it kept stacking so finding a video like this really helped picking the songs i liked the most, i totally underestimated Getting Postal at the Party!
